I got this to see if it could replace my tarp and extension poles for a shade I keep in my van. Unfortunately it wasn’t as good as I had hoped. It’s not a bad design just for the beach, but it would be a lot of work to set up. I’d do this only if I had kids with me who didn’t mind filling up 4 sandbags. After you fill the sandbags you stretch out the canopy fabric, then insert the poles UNDER the fabric and pull it up while sticking the poles in the sand at an angle. I’m tired just thinking about it. The poles are metal, but they are held together with a strand of elastic, just like a tent pole. That means they have a limited lifespan, but they are easy to assemble. Finally I was not impressed with the fabric, it was thinner than I thought it would be, more like a T-shirt type fabric, which you can see through and doesn’t make solid shade. The set also comes with 4 plastic stakes, which would be useless in the sand, but I guess you can use them for grass – but then you would need the bags filled with sand? The posts connect to the ground through loops in the sandbags. I don’t haul sandbags in my car, because as everyone knows sand gets everywhere.

This arrived and is just like it is shown on description. Perfect for a picnic or day at the beach. All accessories are with it that you need. Very happy with this item. For the price it is great. Was easy to set up in the yard to look at it we are taking to the beach soon. It is easy to take down and store. Very lightweight.

Great portable shade and shelter for the beach, park, ballfield and other outings — especially for kids and others prone to sunburn. Includes poles, stakes, small fillable sandbags and even a hand shovel for filling them. Easy assembly and carry bag make it easy and convenient to take or keep this lightweight set with you. I keep mine in the car so it’s accessible whenever we need it. Haven’t had enough wind to test the wind resistance yet, but based on the design, I think it will withstand a fair amount. Instructions explain how to position it for wind resistance. Great gift, especially for parents of young kids.

I was really surprised and disappointed at how thin the fabric for this sunshade is. While it ensures that the shade is lighter, I doubt that this will survive more than handful of outings before a post pops thru a corner. Set up was somewhat confusing as the cords aren’t attached and the instructions don’t really describe how they should thread thru. Once the cords were attached, set up was fairly straightforward. This is definitely a beach shade, not a ‘regular ground’ shade, unless that ground is extremely soft. I really like though that they included a shovel to help with the set up!

The portable sand shelter looks nice! I set this shelter up in around 5-7 minutes. The beach had around 10-12 MPH winds today, and the shelter never moved much at all. I am sure the shelter will provide some sunblock, but I cannot speak to how well. I had on SPF 50 today in the southwest. Overall, a nice shelter and installs easily!

The color of this shade is completely perfect for my summer vibe. It stores much smaller than a traditional umbrella and is about 1/3 the length. It’s also lightweight so easy to tote down to the water at the beach.
The negative would be it does take two people to put this up. Unlike the standard umbrella that I can typically do on my own this I needed a second set of hands or I would have struggled to get it up.

I live a lot further from the beach than I would like so when I get there I want to set up camp and stay all day. Being a fairly pale human, I can’t stay out as long as I would like. I like to bring a chair and a shade, but I want them to be as light weight and portable as possible. I also don’t want to look like an idiot fighting the wind to set up my shade.
This design works with the wind, but also doesn’t rely on a steady breeze to keep it up.
Honestly the only complaint I have is that I don’t find the image particularly attractive. But that’s just because I hate words all over my stuff. I am also a bit concerned that the light weight fabric which does makes it extremely portable might not provide enough protection from the sun’s fiery fingers.
