Everything looked good until i went to put the tent up and it collapsed. I looked at the poles and saw that 3 of the 4 were put together backwards. After disassembling and putting them back together the correct way, the tent worked properly. So the 5 minute setup was actually hours for the first time. Going forward, it will be super simple but that 3 hour reconstruction of the tent was not amazing.

This tent is a cabin that folds up
It’s not light weight and in a strong wind my take two people to set up.
It’s two tents in one sleeping and screened porch in one.

I was happy this 8 person tent arrived 1 week before I needed it so I could test it out. I do a lot of camping and I’ve used many tents mainly pop up/instant tents because I’m one person. I’ve never had such a negative experience using one of these type tents until now. I tried for an hour and the entire center kept folding in on itself. I laid it out reread the directions, went around and locked the 4 poles but inevitably it would collapse 7 different times no matter what I did. I’ve never been so frustrated & this is my 5th type of instant tent (I have various sizes depending on my camping needs, etc. so it’s not my first rodeo). I also own a 9 person instant core tent. I can put the core tent up in less than 5 min and that’s taking it out of the bag. I was excited to try this Coleman 8 person because of the look and ventilation but it doesn’t look like that will happen. Hoping customer service will be able to help.

I can not wait to use this tent this season. It was so easy to put together and I love that the directions are printed right on the bag. The only downside is that it is rather bulky to store and can not store upright, I find that is has to lay down.

We have tent camped for years and this is the best tent we have ever had! I can’t believe how fast it went up and came back down. We loved the huge windows! We are very happy with this tent!

So easy to put up and down and a huge improvement on the previous version. Can stand up in it up to probably 5ft 8 tall and plenty room for double or king inflatable bed + large dog with bed so comfortably sleeps 2 + big dog with small table and 2 chairs – would sleep family of 4 (just) ! Used on West coast of Scotland in strong winds and a few torrential rain showers and stood up well to the elements. One tiny leak / drip where one of the loops attached the toggle for the window but will tape it for next trip. Windows open with mesh or fully on 3 sides and main door opens full width of tent which is fab. A extra pole loops through front flap creating a small covered porch area and also has mat to peg at front of door. Nice colours too so all in all a winner. Storage compartments inside for phone, kindle, glasses, torch, water bottle etc.. really love this tent !

UPDATED REVIEW: From my former review youll see i was initially OK with this product. However, after taking it down and folding it up 4 times with no issues, on the 5th time folding it up one of the corners tore out on the floor. It wasn’t because I didn’t know what I was doing as I had folded it previously without problems. This is the second coleman tent to fall apart after just a few uses in the same year. No more coleman for me!
Overall I love this tent. It is big enough for myself, 2 dogs, and all the stuff. Super simple to set up as well. Do check the instructions to make it easier on yourself.
Now for the disappointment. This is the first time I have used the tent in the rain. 90% dry. Yay. However, the side seams do leak a little and every once in a while I get a drip from above. I can only assume there is a seam letting through a few drops in the rain fly as well.
Overall I am happy. The dogs have plenty of room to stretch out so that’s a plus.
I would purchase this again if I was looking for another.

Lovely tent for summer weather. Very easy to put up even for me, late 60s with arthritis in hands and legs. Lots of ventilation, no condensation whatsoever. However, I am camping in April and the weather gets a bit chilly at night. The roof of the main tent is made up of 4 panels of mesh, great to let the heat out but it lets the cold in even with the fly sheet. If it’s windy there is a constant draught downwards. I am lucky in that I have a very good heater. Would recommend for warmer weather ,but not for cold spells.

Starting with the good – This tent is very spacious and comfortable with a high ceiling and large openings. It’s also very easy to set up – takes 10 minutes or less the first time and once you have the hang of it, probably only 2-3 minutes.
And the bad – most importantly, the tent is not waterproof at all, even with fly correctly installed. Water beads at the base of the window panels and seeps through the seams. After one night of light rain, we had multiple puddles on the floor and anything touching the walls was at least damp if not outright soaking. The build quality was not horrible, but also sub-par – one of the pre-attached poles arriving twisted, requiring it to be forced back into alignment. Additionally, the design of the way it folds up forces any dirt/moisture from the bottom to go to towards the center, making it very difficult to keep clean.

One of the feet was broken. It still works well. It’s huge, haven’t had the chance to fully test it out yet but take down and set up was easy enough, it’s very tall (I’m 5’8″) and it was kind of hard reaching up top to take down.

The description is WRONG! When I went to return the tent I was sent to a third party in the Philippines who was very difficult to understand, and when I asked to talk to a supervisor I was disconnected. Coleman is said to be an outstanding brand for camping equipment, but now that I see the lack of quality and customer service I will never buy anything from Coleman again! Now I am stuck with an overpriced and low-quality tent.
Update:
I was sent the wrong tent. The poles were not attached, as was stated in the description, they needed to be assembled. whatcampingtent.com and Coleman will not correct their mistake. Do not trust them.
