I’ve never had aluminum tent poles. These work really well, and I don’t have to worry about them shattering like fiberglass. From time to time I use tent poles for projects. I take them apart and cut to length. The aluminum cut very easily with a tubing cutter, and the sharp edges are easy to smooth out. The flexibility of these poles is as expected. Same as fiberglass, if you need a more flexible pole get a smaller diameter; stronger pole = larger diameter.

The metal parts are all top quality. They are easily as good and strong as my original poles that came with my EUREKA tent. BUT, the bungee cords are of a very low quality. The cords appear to be of very quality and of very low abrasion resistance. I would expect the cords will need replacing after a few uses.

I love my Ozark Trail 1 person tent, mainly because it has a thick, tarp-like bathtub. But the tent poles that came with the tent were flimsy and one broke. I bought these poles in the 12.8 length and they work perfectly.

Unfortunately all of the 4 ordered poles broke already: at least 1 segment each split/cracked at one end right at the insertion point of the next segment. Same flaw over and over with each segment: showing cracks or completely broke already

While I wished they offered more colors, it’s not exactly like Blue and Orange don’t go together. I bought a Venustas Beach Tent (3 person), which I LIKE A LOT, big enough for the two large dogs and me. Also use it as a cheap dog house out back as well. ANYWAYS, the fiberglass rods that come with said tent are terrible and give you slivers. I was afraid that these rods wouldn’t be flexible enough since the arch on the tent is kind of intense. This is 100% A MUST BUY for the beach tent. THOUGH, you do have to remove 1 link, which is easy to do. Undo the end bit, then the knot, keep tension on the bungee cord, slide the extra extension off, loop bungee end through the endcap, tie off, put back together, should have decent enough tension, there you go. These rod lengths are EXACTLY the same as the rod segment lengths in the Venustas Beach Tent I bought, which was super hard to find. Only difference, slightly thicker rod at 8.5mm instead of 8mm. Which isn’t actually a problem. I love them, and the orange adds a nice accent to the black they had on there.

I’ve broken a lot of fiberglass tent poles over the years because of high wind, but more recently they just got old and shattered during setup. I’d never been able to find replacement tent poles that were exactly the same length as the originals so I tried these. They were only 2-3 inches too short, yet they work perfect. The aluminum is light and should be much more durable over time than the original fiberglass.

Nicely packaged, the poles assemble easily. They seem like a quality item, of course, we never find out differently until later, but I’ve used some tent ploes and these look fine.
I will be using mine for a purpose nobody would ever guess and I won’t bother to describe, but they’ll never see a tent.
