   Studied this product line carefully, and lots of others. Chose the Venture w/ panels for the deck and when camping – deck has west/south exposure – gets hot. (Far less costly than an awning). I judge quality closely – have an attitude like the chef on TT who yells – Don’t Fxxx It Up. If any thing’s wrong – it’s going back – company has a great return policy. 64 female – 5’5″ – 120lbs – Unit and panels arrived same day – unit is 33 lbs – I could easily drag it from the front door to the back deck – All parts included – tiny little tear on a front ground flap and loose threading around – I can deal with both (2 pts off for quality control). I step on that same flap to open the zipper so I’ll damage it time anyway – Studied assembly online beforehand (videos/pics) – took 30 minutes in 90 degree weather from box to this set up not looking at the directions (dumped it out of box, moved it around a bit, put on my geometry glasses). I don’t work out – set it up on the deck – 10.5′ x 12′, which I built :-), but could have done it on the grass and pulled it onto the deck – Currently there’s a chaise lounge, small table and dog/kid pool inside (5′ x 3′) – could easily add two chairs for company – Used metal stakes and glow ropes I bought for this unit and new tent – Tested the panels – fastened perfectly – will work for 3 season weather (not strong winds). Was concerned the panels wouldn’t have the window openings since not in the pics – they do! I like there’s an extra one (I’ll find a use) AWESOME product however long it lasts (self-reminder, take it down in strong wind). Women shouldn’t be deterred from buying/setting up alone. Got for it!

   I had my doubts. But, this canopy is amazing. Set-up is SUPER easy. And tear-down is a breeze. Works perfectly! And somehow it all fits back into the bag when you’re done. A++!

   This was a love hate relationship with the clam in the beginning. My husband and I did read the instructions on the box. But apparently when we took it out of the box and when we started unfolding the clam it was either already twisted as per some people have mentioned or we had it turned the wrong way. Long story short after two days of trying to untangle this mess as seen in the picture, my husband had to take it apart and reconnect the poles back in place once the mesh part was untangled. He was not going to let it defeat him and he was not sending it back. No way was that clam going back into a box in the mess we had it in. Finally he got it back to how it was suppose to be and the set up took less than two minutes. The Clam Quick Set Escape is easy to set up and take down I do it by myself when camping. I use a 12×12 tarp in mine for the floor, the wind panels for the windows are awesome and add privacy when needed. This size clam I have fit up to 10 folding chairs inside and makes a great camp kitchen and a place to store my camp items.

   We purchased this for our camper that is ocean facing in the Keys. Lots of wind. Many storms later (no hurricanes of course) and stayed in place. We bolted down the corners and then tied off for extra reinforcements. At one point all of our patio furniture had been thrown onto one side of this tent from an unexpected storm that came through. This thing held up like a champ. The roof collapses in with heavy rain which I think is good so it doesn’t ruin the roof supports. Pop it back up and let the rain run off when it is done and all is good. So very impressed. Many other campers are asking us about it since they have all watching this thing take a punch. If you are on the fence take it from me, it is worth it.

   Tried the 6×6 foot size cuz there is only 2 of us but it still seemed a bit cramped with 2 chairs & a small table. The 9×9 is great! Easy to install (one person can do it within a few minutes), great quality, sturdy especially when staked, keeps bugs out when zipped closed. Definitely buy it with at least 2 wind panels (we got 6) for use not only in blowing rain but sunshade on the sides. This product is well worth the price….gives us extra room for sitting & storage when camping. Folds nicely into its storage bag for easy transport.

   My wife and I recently purchased the Clam Escape Quick-Set. It was very easy to set up. Read the directions before setting it up and you should be fine. We staked it down using the external stakes and ropes to the panel hubs, as well as the interior grommets. We had steady wind so we took the extra precaution as directed in the instructions. The issue we had was that one of the interior grommet tabs must not have been sewn in as well as the others. It ripped away from the shelter as seen in the pic. I will try to sew it back on as best I can until we get back to Florida this fall. There I can take it to an upholstery shop to have them all reinforced. This shelter replaced a Coleman screen tent we had had for 5 years. The elements eventually take their toll and that screen tent finally fell apart. We hope we can get at least that many years of use out of this unit.

   This shelter is very easy to set up and take down one person can handle it. A real pleasure to sit inside and not worry about bugs or weather wrecking your camping fun. We bought the 12by12foot one and can easily sit six people around the dining table. Only wish we had bought one sooner.

    Saw this at a campsite across the road from ours. It went up so quick that we went over to talk with the people who had it. They showed us how easily it went up and came down. We liked it so much we bought one as soon as we got home. Right out of the box it was up in about 1 minute. Good quality and the no-seeum mesh is tough.

    Love the protection from bugs and rain. Easy to set up and pack up. The vertical walls make for greater living space than traditional screen shelters that slope. Some people might not like the single door but it’s no big deal for us. The add-on wall panels work great except there is no version for the door side so we leave that one off. We also traded out one wall panel for a DIY clear vinyl replacement to give light and a view. A great feature is, the light coloured roof that makes the inside so much brighter than a dark roof would allow. Only complaint is the zipper: because it is the only door it gets heavy use and we’ve repaired it several times each season. Might need to replace it soon. That said, we love our Clam so much that I bought another (this order) as a gift for my daughter and son-in-law. Whether we are tenting, using our motorhome, the Clam is another room when needed.
