   These stakes were perfect for securing some tall lights in my yard. They served as my defense against our treacherous winds. The stakes are heavy duty and the ability to install them with a drill adds that extra security. My only suggestion is that if you are using a cordless drill, make sure it is at maximum charge for efficient installation. I highly recommend it.

   I used these pegs for securing some holiday decoractions in soil where standard push-pegs just popped out all of the time. The heavy-duty “lag bolt” style really made a difference. I was able to use a standard electric drill with the included nut-driver head, and had no problem either setting or removing the pegs as neeeded.

   These bolts are impressive – they look like little more than extra-long lag bolts. But they hold extremely well. They drive easily, and they’re both easier to remove, and stronger-holding than stakes you normally drive. Impressive all the way around.

   I was so surprised when these tent stakes arrived. They are way more heavy duty than I have ever seen. All of my prior stakes have bent while pounding them into the ground. There is no way these will bend. It’s really nice that they are threaded, so they will screw into the ground instead of being pounded. There is a hex tool for your drill that is included, as well as a storage bag for all of it to fit into. These will hold down more than just tents. Shade structures, awnings, mats, etc. Endless possibilities.

   Great idea for most campgrounds, as they screw into the dirt and go deep. Putting one at each corner should help to keep that tent from becoming a kite. The only weakness is the rock-soil that we have here in the rocky mountain area. Half the campgrounds don’t remove this rock from the soil, so penetration can be a struggle. Just gotta try different angles to see what might work.

   So I give em 4 stars for being a good idea that works for some situations, but not so well in others.

   Helpful 12″ heavy duty stakes can help secure your tent or canopy in wind. These are fairly heavy duty, and the unique thing is that they can be installed using a drill. We live in a windy area, so these are helpful to hold many things in place.

   Look, I can’t even say a ton about these. The quality is great, everything is there in the bag except you’ll need your own impact driver, but man! These babies sink right into most soils. We use them to secure the canopies and our awning when we vend. I’ve found few areas where they didn’t go right in at least far enough to hold VERY secure. I really love these, they go with us everywhere.

   I have an E-Z UP style canopy that I use sometimes at the race track when my grandson is running his micro sprint. These canopies are pretty expensive, so it’s a good idea to keep them staked down when the wind is blowing. I have been at race tracks when a sudden gust of wind came up and several canopies started doing their Mary Poppins impression. When the canopies came to earth, they usually got damaged to say nothing of what they landed on. For that reason, I always to try to stake my canopy down as securely as possible. The stakes in this kit should do the job. Basically, these stakes are fairly standard lag bolts that you can find in a hardware store or home center. Unfortunately, the 12-inch length is not that common, so a kit like this makes it easy. Plus, it comes with a hex driver bit and storage bag. Also, each stake has a metal flat washer and a rubber washer under the hex head. As noted, these stakes are 12 inches long, as indicated in the whatcampingtent.com description. However, the same description lists their diameter as either .31 inch or .4 inch, depending on where you look. The actual diameter is 3/8 (.375) inch according to my calipers, so plan accordingly if you want to order these. I have successfully used stakes just like these with my canopy, so I expect that these will work just as well and I think they are fairly priced.
