This is a very nice tent. I haven’t brought it out for a proper adventure in the woods yet, but I set it up for my kids in the backyard to pretend to camp it. On the one hand, it’s certainly easier to set up than some of the more old-school or more complex tents I’ve used before — but, on the other hand, it’s still trickier to set up than one of those pop-up style tents I’ve tried before. Looking at the directions and product pictures, I thought it looked like it’d be easy to get going, but of course the actual set-up proved to be trickier than I hoped. I had to check a few how-to videos online for similiar-looking tents to get a better idea of how to speed the process up. I’m sure with some practice it’d become second-hand nature and much faster. Anyway, once assembled it looks and feels like a really nice, roomy, relatively tough tent that should hopefully last for years and be able to weather typical family camping conditions and the occasional thunderstorm, etc.

I’ve owned Kelty tents in the past where it withstood heavy downpours when others leaked. This is my third Kelty tent in 30 years. Can’t go wrong

This is a good sized tent, with room to almost stand up in it. Could easily fit two people on cots with their gear. Not too hard to set up, but certainly needs two people to make it easy. Kept the wind off and protected against the heavy frost. Didn’t take long to dry out either, which was terrific the next morning. The rain fly has a rubberized coating on the inside to keep it waterproof.

Kelty is a well-known brand in the outdoor world, so I knew I would be getting superior quality from this tent. The sizing is perfect for a family of 3, and it’s super easy to set up, especially with an extra set of hands helping you. My wife, son, and I fit in this tent nicely along with our 3 single person sleeping cots. I’m 5’11”, so I do have to duck a little to move around, but it’s not anything I’m worried about. Lucky for the wife, she’s 5’3″, so she has it easy lol. The gear loft is a nice feature too; as it allows space for your items. It says you can put lighting up there, but I don’t know how safe that is for lamps that get hot. There’s an additional pouch to place things like phones or snacks in too, so that’s kind of nice. Overall this is a solid tent, and the price is fair across the board, so you’re not paying any extra here for it. I definitely rate this a 5/5 and can’t wait to use it more.
