I enjoy hanging out and even camping on Texas coastal beaches. Regular pop-ups don’t work very well there as the stakes can’t hold in the sand and the wind is blowing constantly. This awning, with it’s sand-filled tiedown system, is a much better choice. It’s a bit more difficult to set up than the popups, hopefully you’ll have a friend along to help, especially against wind. The tarp itself seems to be made out of durable material and so I expect a good number of trips out of it. It gives enough shade/protection for a family of five, assuming you don’t also have a table under there with you. Most importantly, the carry bag is big enough to make getting everything back into the bag fairly easy!

We use this at the beach and camping and it has been great. Materials are good. Setup and tear down is pretty straightforward. Packs up easily enough. The wind can definitely grab it but if weighed down properly it’s fine. Works better than expected.
