These poles are sturdy, thick in both the diameter as well as the material. my camp site ran into some high winds and while the tarp was flapping hard these poles were unfazed.
I choose this style over the telescoping style because while those are held up by friction created by a plastic/rubber piece, this one is slotted-in metal to metal. there are almost zero points of potential failure along the pole (unless it breaks or bends), so hopefully this is the last one I’ll need to get. In it’s unassembled form this is bulkier than the telescoping pole, but since I’m only using this while car camping, the point is moot.
If there has to be a complain, it’s the carrying bag. while the bag is thick enough, the zipper feels cheap, and the size of the bag is a little too tight. it WILL contain all the poles but I wish it’s an inch longer and wider. as it is, it’s always a tough fight to fit everything in.

Not bad or great.
They have a fair amount of flex and are not heavy duty.

I needed a sturdy set of poles to use for a tarp canopy while camping and was not interested in the thin aluminum poles with twist locks because there are too many possibilities of failure. These steel poles are perfect for what I needed. The extra weight is not an issue in my case and having the adjustable height using the interlocking sections does take a few extra seconds in the setup but it’s worth it because there is no chance of slipping and they can handle plenty of wind without failure. The durability of this set combined with the reasonable cost make them an incredible value. I would definitely buy these again.

Unless you like whittling sticks in the woods as part of your campcraft, these poles are an ideal camping accessory when motorcycle camping. I initially thought that they might be too heavy and/or bulky, but the segments are the perfect length to fit into either the bottom of a side panier or a dry-bag. They are probably too heavy to carry when backpacking, but I always pack them onto my bike and I typically find myself using them in every camping setup (porch mode – hammock tarp, rain-shelter, shade-shelter, windbreak, bug-net etc.). They are a little on the heavy side of perfect, but they strike a good balance between weight, sturdiness and durability. I would definitely buy these again (in the unlikely event that they ever needed to be replaced.)

Great tarp poles. Sturdy and well made. I used them to put up a 10×10 AquaQuest tarp over my not-very waterproof tent.

I bought these poles to hold up the tarp/roof of the cage I have outside for the dog area. Easy to install. It’s been very windy the last couple of months and the poles are holding up. Worth the money.
