   This is a great product. I was able to bring new life to my 30 year old tent and throw away all the jury-rigged poles I’ve created over the years. The male adaptors that come with the poles allowed me to cut the poles to the exact lengths needed. It was helpful to glue those adaptors into place (I recommend using the glue that is sold by archery shops for gluing arrowhead adaptors onto aluminum arrows)

   These are OK. Assembly is quick and easy, although having to tie a knot in the end of the cord to secure to to the ends of the pole-assembly is problematic. It leaves a lump of cord-knotting at the end, and if you need to thread the pole through any sort of fabric loop, it is problematic. It would be better if the manufacturer came up with a better solution to tying off the cord. Like some other buyers, I also use these for a tent fly sun-shade at the beach. The arch of the bend is not very tight (see pictures), but after a day of use I find that the sections at the apex of the arch are difficult to separate (and sometimes almost impossible to separate). Taking a closer look at the problem, it seems that the metal ends of each pole section are made of a metal that deforms a bit to much for this sort of use. To get the pole sections to separate I have had to bend the poles back slightly until the socket ends go back to a rounder shape, and then the sections can be pulled apart (not easily though). I have only used the poles 5 or 6 times now and I am bit worried that with continued deformation and then having to re-bend the pole sockets, that the pole sockets may fail prematurely. It’s too bad because otherwise these are a decent enough pole set.

   If your tent has simple straight fiberglass poles these are an amazing upgrade. I bought 20’ ers and left out one section. One section was actually shorter than the others so that’s the one I left out. These do need to be strung but that is not difficult and they come with plenty of elastic. The fiberglass poles took forever to thread through the pockets but the new aluminum poles slide right in making setup much faster.

   This pole was an absolute life saver! I was able to use a saw to trim this one down to the size of the Coleman pole I was replacing. It was fairly easy to use and a perfect solution for replacing the shattered pole they discontinued making replacements for. You will need some kind of tool to cut off the excess (pipe cutter, saw, etc.) but so long as you have that, you should be good to go!

   Perfect application for my sagging side tent which attaches to my teardrop tab trailer. Made some wood disc bases with grommets for floor and keeps my tent from sagging in middle! Not heavy duty but working well for my application.

    Our koi carp pond has several other tent poles to keep the net up in order to protect the fish from the many predators who keep visiting us: from owls, coyotes, raccoons to herons in summer time and other birds and even ducks/geese who like landing in the pond thinking is one of the nearby massive ponds – bloody buggers. Even nearby cats, squirrels, nevermind humans trespass checking our fish!!!

    Of course the nets are going to give up under the pressure of these animals and birds and temporarily end in the water, at least I am trying my best to help the poor fish we have inherited from the previous mad owner who did way less for them and these tent poles are easy to assemble and thank God I got them at a way reduced price at that moment in time: they are thin, sturdy and came well packed.

    I am yet to buy something for myself.

    Good instructions and robust poles. Note, because the poles are aluminum, a pipe cutter is helpful for precise cuts. Can make any length of pole from the supplied packages both male or female ends (as long as your original pole is less than the length of this kit). Instructions are clear. Suggest get a longer total replacement length so you end up with a spare segment for future should you need it. I upgraded to a thicker pole diameter for a more robust replacement as my skinnier original tent poles showed cracks after several years of use.
