   This canopy is definitely worth the money, I love that it comes with a compact carry bag and it is so much easier to take to the beach than those large heavy metal canopies that take forever to set up. The two shovels they provide are nice but they really don’t pick up enough sand to fill the bags. It definitely takes some time to fill the bags with those tiny shovels. The bags are really stretchy and the material seems very durable. The poles are not super tall so you may not be able to stand up while under the canopy, but if you have chairs you’ll be set up nicely. It took me and my wife about 15-20 minutes to set up.

   We bought this beach sun shade/tent for a family vacation to Florida. I really like that it’s very small and light when packed away and easy to set up. The beach was pretty dang windy for the week we were there, which may or may not have been due to Hurrican Beryl which was pounding our home in Houston while we were gone. Lol Even in windy conditions, I had absolutely no problems setting it up by myself, and once up, it stayed in place with the gusting winds. It’s a fairly straightforward setup. If it is windy, definitely follow the instructions and dig pits for the weight bags to sit in. I saw another person with one similar to ours who didn’t dig the pits (which adds maybe 5 minutes to the setup at most), and their bags drug across the sand causing them issues. One great thing about this model compared to the competitors is that this one has 8 weighted attached bags which definitely makes it more stable. If we had purchased one with just 4 bags, I would have had problems due to the gusty wind. The height and coverage area are great, and it’s a solid product. At first, I was a little disappointed the 2 included shovels were plastic, but then I realized they don’t have to be heavy duty, and I actually prefer them to be light weight in terms of being carried around. It was so nice to have on the beach, and I’m sure we’ll get plenty of use out of it. If you’re planning a beach vacation somewhere, I highly recommend this.

   Have used the tent twice now. One day was very calm winds and one day was very strong winds. I am impressed by this tent. I can’t speak to how durable it will be yet, but so far so good. WOULD LOVE TO REVIEW LARGER VERSION. Set up: Set up is very simple. There are many videos that show best practices, but here is the basics. Stretch it out on the beach. If it is windy, fill one corner full of sand and then the opposite corner, etc. Stretch them all out so there is decent tension. Once all the bags are filled, cover with sand. Then insert the poles under the tension of the cover. You want to try to face it into the wind, but even when the wind changed direction we didn’t have any problems. Day 1 (little wind) Not much to talk about, provided nice shade. Easy setup and take down. Light. Was enough for 4 adults to sit under. You could fit more if squish or have small children. Very comfortable day. Day 2 (12-13 mph winds). I was at Light House Beach in Hatteras on May 27 (see video) so you can look up historical winds to see if I am BS’ing. It was very windy during set up, but I thought let’s try it and see how it does. Was very pleased. During setup the whole thing flew up so we had to fill up one bag to anchor and then the other bags. The difference in setup from the non windy days was that we set the poles at an angle. You have to set a slight bigger opening into the wind and brace the poles into the wind / <—. The other side we set slightly lower. It took some adjusting to get the ‘flappiness’ down, but finally got it good enough. Was impressed as it got hit by gusts that it didn’t budge. The bungees also did NOT pop off which was also nice. Made it comfortable for all of us. Finally had to leave because the wind picked up enough that sand was starting to pelt everyone. Final thoughts: I was impressed, would like to review something larger for groups of 6-8 to see how it does. Again, this is only two uses in, we’ll see how durable it ends up being. That said, if you are buying for a few uses on a vacation, I would recommend. Will try to update at end of trip.

   Pros: Surprisingly easy set up even for 1 person. Durable, protective, and stretchy. Created a nice shady space for 3 adults, 3 kids, and a dog.

   Cons: 1) Not great in high winds, even with frequent adjustments and burying the pockets. 2) Comes with corkscrew stakes but no way to attach them and no instructions on their use. 3) I’m annoyed this was advertised as working well on land and sand when its clearly only for sand.
