Purchased off a wedding registry, I hope they like it. If you buy off the registry, does the recipient find out who sent the gift? Well, anyway, I like my Big Agnes tent, and feel that the footprint is worth it to protect your investment in your tent, even though they are really expensive for what they are.

This company managed to make you pay as much as possible for flimsy product made to tear quick no matter how careful you are.
Few weeks on the sun will make the fabric so weak you can pass your finger through.
Customer service doesn’t care, and unfriendly.

Bought this for my UL2, and just can’t get over how small and light it is. Footprints for my older tents are a noticeable item (weigh and bulk). This footprint is like a few sheafs of notepad paper. Literally negligible size or space in my pack. Stupidly overpriced, but I guess not when it goes under a $500 tent…

My first complaint is that you this is expensive and sold separately, despite Big Agnes recommending its use with their tent to avoid damage. If it’s really required (and I think it is), then include it with the tent. Still, believing it to be as well engineered as their tent, I spent the money and bought it. Sadly, my expectations weren’t met. The tent pole ends stick into the silver grommets shown on the orange bit of webbing (that’s the footprint) rather than being securely held by the plastic clips, as on the tent (see the grey webbing in the photo). Which means when you move the tent before pegging it in, the footprint falls off. For the love of God, would it have been that hard to design a more effective solution? Disappointed. Save your money and make your own footprint. There are some good tutorials on YouTube for Making tent footprints out of Tyvek.
