   Small package but quality tent. I wanted to like the smaller bivy tent, but as soon as it rains getting into and out of tent is a nightmare. This is the alternative. You have the abilily to move not like a bivy. I always like Eureka because they make a quality product.

   It is free standing, but if you have the right stakes that is not a problem. You can easily move the whole tent around to find the right place. I have a beautiful North Face 2 person tent for car and motorcycle camping. But for my bicycle this is the tent to buy.

   Decent small tent. As has been noted elsewhere, however, this is really a bivvy tent. To give you an idea of that, the floor is almost completely taken up by a sleeping pad. Its purpose is to protect you from the elements, not to give an airy feel. It is pretty lightweight. It is pretty easy to set up once you practice a couple times. Advantages: – relatively lite – relatively inexpensive (you can pay insane amounts for a small lightweight tent) – low profile, so is OK in the wind. – interesting zipper top design that could be useful. – like the attached rain fly design! Disadvantages: – inside gear pockets are too small and are at bad angles, so don’t hold much and spill things out. – design of zippers is poor. They leave small gaps that allow small insects (like ants) to potentially enter. I will try to post pix of this. – potential big issue: if you use for backpacking, which seems to be the purpose, there will NOT be enough space to get your backpack inside. That is, unless you and the pack are small. This may lead to leaving it outside in the rain, etc. Note that the vestibule is very small and almost non-existent. EDIT – See the attached images of the zipper issue. It might not seem like much, but when ants abound it could be an issue. I am thinking of how to seal these gaps. I will be working on trying to seal those zipper gaps as there are a lot of little bugs in the desert.

   Got this for my teenage son who camps out. He loves it. Enough room for his sleep mat, sleeping bag, and a few necessities. He work up and it was raining. He stayed in the tent until the rain stopped because he wanted to stay dry. That’s saying something!!

   This is a nice little tent for the money. It is significantly larger than my bivvy bag when set up. I’m 6’ tall and have about 18” from the top of my head to the door of the tent when lying down. The interior is about 3’ wide & about 2 1/2’ high. The fly remains attached to the tent when stowed, so setup is quick & easy. You will need to use at least 4 of the included stakes because this tent is not freestanding. The only negative is the bug net. The tent in the photos is a replacement unit. When I set the original tent up the bug net had a small hole in it. This one has performed well so far but the netting still feels somewhat delicate.

   After receiving the tent, I set it up in the back yard to give it a test run. It took less than a minute to put together, and the size was a perfect fit for me and my pack.

   The material is tough, but light. The zippers flow smoothly, and it all fits rather well in my pack. I plan on taking this on a 6 week journey through the mojave desert and siwrra mountains next month, and am now all the more excited!
