This tent has design flaws. It’s like someone that never went camping designed it. The bottom of the tent is the same fabric as the top instead of a rugged tarp material. The tent is in no way water resistant. I would not recommend.

I’ve been using a Tetragon 3 for about 20 years. It has held up great. I’m sure mine has seen over 200 nights of camping over the couple decades I’ve had it. I loaned it to some kids a few years ago, and they put some small holes in the mesh; I put some duct tape on both sides of the holes and haven’t had any problems (or even had to replace the tape). The kids also broke one elastic band; all the other bands are still working great. I found a new Tetragon 3 on sale this past summer, and I bought it because I’m afraid my old one will give up the ghost. But I haven’t had to switch to the new one yet. I bought one for a HS graduation present for a friend’s son. I recommend this tent to everyone unless you are doing hard-winter camping.
Also, this is the easiest tent to set up, bar none. The stand-alone structure and the external-hook attachment to the poles is the shebang. All these new-fangled contraptions with “vestibules” and more poles than a fishing equipment superstore? Nope. Simple is best, especially when you have to set up in the dark. Or on solid rock or soft sand.

When it is windy and sandy, sand will enter the tent under the rain fly.

We have had a Tetragon 9 for 25 years. It is still our favorite tent for 1 or 2 nites in a campground.

I own a Eureka 3 person lightweight tent, purchased 10 years ago, before the marketing department bought into the elitism of backpackers who didn’t think the term “backpacking” was enough to differentiate hiking in to sleep miles from the road, vs setting up a tent in traditional, family-style campground.
It’s a shame, because the tent still holds up. I wouldn’t buy it again, knowing Eureka has gone all-in with those who use terms that suggest people in campgrounds aren’t really camping.
