4 Pcs 10″ Heavy Duty Metal Ground Pegs
I got these to anchor a greenhouse down, but they will not work in the soil where I live. These are basically large lagg screws that you can drill into the ground to anchor things. I think they would work well in an area with very hard soil like calichi, but not in soft or clay type soils.

These are perfect for my needs but I think they are a little pricey for what they are. I’ve been using them to anchor my portable target stand and they have performed very well. Granted, my usage isn’t a high-stress test for them but they’re sufficiently capable of keeping the stand upright and completely stationary even with moderate wind. I live in the rocky mtns and there’s a reason they’re called “rocky”. I’ve bent a lot of conventional stakes using a hammer since you can usually bet that there are a few rocks wherever you poke into the ground here. These screw-down type of stakes have greatly mitigated that problem. As others have reviewed…. you could easily fabricate these for less by going to the hardware store and buying lag bolts, washers, grommets, etc. However I appreciate that this set comes with a handy storage sack, hex bit, and tip covers so they don’t poke through the storage bag. Overall this is a great stake set but would be a better value if priced in the sub-$20 range in my opinion.

These metal stakes are great for securing things into the ground. Great for tents, tarps or canopies – in my case I am using these stakes to secure a canopy into to the earth. The stakes are almost a foot long each and are threaded so you can drill them into the ground with the included drill bit. They are very heavy duty and even include a rubber grommet at the top of each stake so whatever you are securing does not get damaged from metal-to-metal contact. These stakes are very durable and in my case they are able to secure a canopy frame to the ground perfectly. They also include a storage bag which is great for long term storage.

These steel ground pegs are very secure in sandy soil. I used them to tie down a shade cloth with nylon rope, and they feel like they will hold even in a sturdy wind. I installed them at a ~45 degree angle. The package comes with a storage bag, cleaning brush, and socket head in case you want to install them with an impact driver. I was able to easily drive them into the dirt with a rubber mallet. I like how they have a rubber washer near the top to cushion any line you use for an anchor. Remember to remove the rubber cover on the tip of the stake before installation. The more firm the medium, the better these will hold.

I have an expandable canopy, and it’s been windy for the past month for whatever reason. Sometimes there’s gusts of wind, so much so that I’ve had pavers on the small feet to keep canopy from flying away (see pic). I had it slightly angled to be on the concrete so the wind doesn’t slide the canopy from the pavers. Even the canopy is tied to the shed and the house. The spikes that come with the canopy slide out of the ground easily.
With this, my problems are solved! I don’t have to worry about my canopy flying away anymore. They go deep enough in the ground that the legs don’t budge.
I do also have a tent. Like a review said, you’d have to bring your drill with you. But I wouldn’t mind as there’s piece in mind knowing your tent won’t fly away. I’ll be ordering another set for my tent.
They’re quality, and metal, not plastic. I never knew these existed. But I’m thankful they do and now my canopy won’t fly away.
