This is a great tent, I didn’t expect anything less from Kelty. I have multiple Kelty products and love every one of them. The only “issue” with the tent it weight, but for my it’s really not that big of a deal because I’m not going ultralight backpacking or anything. It’s super easy to set up and looks great, I’m 6’3″ and I can lay in it fine along with my gear. It’s very spacious and perfect sized. It’s definitely very versatile because it’s totally waterproof with the rain cover. And on hot summer days you can just set up the tent itself and since it’s all mesh you’ll get great air flow.

Bought this tent for a car camp/ small backpacking tent. I have had Kelty tents in the past, one I still have is 20+ years and still going strong. I was surprised when the two poles died within 48 hours of setting it up for the first time. The tent poles broke in the metal sleeve and were unrepairable. This may have been specific to that certain batch that the poles were made in. The rest of the tent seemed to be well made, but I won’t know for sure as it died too soon.

I am so happy to finally get a chance to use this tent, as it was a bit cold when I first got it and since it was my first time pitching a tent by myself, I didn’t want to be freezing while figuring things out lol
I have to say, this was such a cool tent and HUGE. I am typically by myself and wanted to bring my 130 lbs dog and there is more than enough room for the both of us. I brought a sleeping bag, her dog bed, set a radio inside, a lantern and a hiking backpack– again, there is more than enough room in here for all your items, even if you’re a pack rat.
The only thing I didn’t get to test is it’s waterproof ability, but I am confident that it will do the job. One of a camper’s biggest fear is having wet gear and hypothermia, so I would have loved to test the waterproof level of the floor, but otherwise, what a great find!

This is my second Kelty and I really like it. The poles are fiberglass as opposed to metal alloy in my last Kelty but they are thick and stout. Set-up is easy and the rain fly covers the tent well and keeps me dry. The vestibule is small but great for taking your shoes off so you don’t get mud and dirty in your tent. For the money you can’t beat it for general use. I use mine for site camping with scouts. I got the 4 man since I usually have some extra gear I like to keep dry. Plenty of loops for lights and a side pocket for glasses/wallet/phone.

This is a good starter tent for someone looking to get into backpacking. Not the lightest out there, nor does it have an aluminum frame. Still, a very good option for building a first setup.

This tent seems higher quality and weights about 1lbs less than the Coleman Sundome. I think it’s worth the extra price. The inside layout is pretty good, and can fit 2 25in wide pads, but would be bit tight.
The door/rain fly design is not that great. If it’s raining, it’s hard to get into the tent without letting in some water.
Good beginner/budget backpacking tent.

This tent was great for 3 weekend campouts until the poles cracked. I contacted Kelty and sent them photos of the broken poles, and I was very dissappointed with their response. Instead of replacing the poles, they wanted to repair the poles. Furthermore, they asked me to “meet them halfway” and pay for shipping costs including shipping insurance and tracking. Kelty used to have great customer service and warranty coverage, but I’ll be replacing this tent with another brand.
