The first thing I did after opening the package was to assemble each pole, to see how well the joints fit together. The machining is first-rate. The poles thread together for a very firm joint with no play or wobble. The second thing was to weigh the entire set, including the bag. My luggage scale showed 1.6 pounds, so the claim that the poles weigh 1.5 pounds seems accurate.
I’m using the poles right now with a tarp to see how well they handle a rainstorm. I expect to be satisfied.

I like how these tent poles connect together and the stainless steel material. A nice storage bag is included too. For normal winds these poles are strong enough. Unfortunately I have not found any tent poles that can survive Oklahoma winds. These poles are the same with 2 poles bending at the weakest point at the connections on the second day of use. I don’t fault the poles because unexpected high winds are part of living in Oklahoma. One reason I purchased these poles was for the replacement sections from a third set purchased for parts. This was a good decision because only one section will fail. I have 8 replacement sections, 2 bottoms and 2 tops from the third set 😁.

No complaints adequate quality. You might want to avoid using them at full length in any heavy weather as you lose significant strength. Most applications would not require you to do so, and stringer also equals heavier etc. They function well used once so far. I would buy again.

I usually love every whatcampingtent.com purchase. As long as it’s not broken, I make it work. But this…super flimsy, loud, long setup, and just looks cheap. The carrying case is a MUST. Fully broken down, there’s a lot of pieces. My carrying case split the first time putting the pole back in. I rather throw these away then use them and have my camping experience ruined. I would not trust these. Buy the thicker aluminum ones that twist to extend and lock. Those are top quality

I had hoped to use these to hold up a tarp over some golf clubs in my yard, with the option to “lower the telescoping poles” to the lowest setting to hide the clubs, and then just extend the poles when I wanted the clubs to be accessible again. These don’t telescope, you have to remove ‘sections’ to raise or lower it. Sturdy enough for smaller tarps probably, but they seemed a little overwhelmed by a 20′ x 40′ tarp. Yeah, first time the wind picked up more than 4 mph, two of the poles bent in half, which ruined two sections, making them 6′ poles. worthless now.
