   Maybe the perfect tent? I need a “cold” weather, four-season-ish tent. I’m not going above tree line in winter any time soon, nor will I ever summer camp in Texas. I wanted the flexibility to zip-up and wrap-up with a rain-fly for winters in the South, but also have mesh netting for warmer temps when Souther winters just aren’t that wintery. This may be the only 4-season/flex season tent that could play in summer and winter. The addition of mesh net is what sold me. Not scientific, but it seemed to keep it about 20-degrees warmer than outside temps even when fully vented. Easy to set up with all coded connection points, and nearly all the venting could be reached laying down (nice the throttle the temps without getting up). Plenty of guy line points and the brow pole really opens up headroom and add serious rigorous. Only knock is, dang this is a small 2 person, but it was perfect for me and a big dog. She loved it. ANd the vestibule is kinda worthless. I would have loved the footprint to extend out to the front rain fly as well, but that’s what Tyvek is for, have it include more tent stakes and guy lines (think I counted 12 tie-off points.) Minor points, mostly personal.

   This is the most expensive tent I have ever purchased, but this is by far the best tent I’ve ever purchased. I have used multiple single person and two person tents for camping and hiking. This was bought to be my new backpacking tent. I liked the idea of having a 4 season tent that can be adapted to about any use ever. My wife and I have several nights in this tent so far. I’ve had it for about 4 months now. It has went on multiple trips. My wife and I are both around 5ft 6. We have PLENTY of room. We both have been able to put down our sleeping pads and sleep comfortably without having to be shoulder to shoulder or on top of each other. If we decide to bring our packs in, it gets pretty cramped. But packs out under the fly and it’s just fine. The set up is pretty easy. Not the easiest tent I’ve ever set up, but pretty close to it. Hardest part is getting the fly on and adjusted correctly. It can be done with one person, but if it’s windy or stormy and you try to put it up you will have issues. Breathability is really good. The fly has an opening to allow airflow. The sides of the tent itself have mesh windows all the way around, THAT HAVE ZIPPER COVERS! This is my favorite feature of the tent. You could use this tent in the summer without the fly and just zip up the windows. One thing I’ve hated about tents with mesh windows is the fact there is no way to cover them up unless you put the fly on. You have some privacy this way and can simply zip up the windows and not have to worry about peeping eyes while changing or something in a public campground. My wife it was absolutely thrilled with this feature. Every morning when we wake up there is condensation on the inside of the fly, but we have never had it inside the tent yet. (night temps have ranged from 38 to 70 degrees Fahrenheit) There are several pockets in the side including a loft. The loft was a perfect area for us to put the compression sacks, and a few other smaller things in. There are also phone sizes pockets on both sides. The tent itself is super light. You can take the tent rods out of the bag and compress it ever smaller. So far I’ve tried both ways and basically it’s just how do you want to pack your pack that will determine what is best for you. The whole package is super light. One of the lightest. It does worry me just how light the bottom is. So I splurged and got the footprint for it too. The footprint did make me feel much more comfortable, but I’m not sure this tent would be pet friendly. I love the stakes that come with it, but it needs more. You cannot stake all the sides of the tent and use the rain fly properly with the amount of stakes you get. This is my only complaint. Unfortunately I’ve not got the chance to use it in the rain or snow, but I have no doubt it will hold up just fine. Overall I am very satisfied with the purchase. If you got more stakes there would be no issues from me so far!
