   Just got back from the beach, and can’t say enough glowing things about the Shibumi. Light, easy to carry, and simple to set up. Breeze was blowing at about 20 mph, and the Shibumi held up with no problem – would never have set up a conventional umbrella in that wind! Also went to the beach when the breeze was about 5 mph, and the Shibumi performed exceptionally well. The consistent flapping takes a little getting used to – it didn’t really bother us, but I can see how it could be annoying in a stronger breeze. It was noticeably cooler under the Shibumi (and out of the sun), making our beach time more enjoyable. Takedown was equally simple and easy. Overall, I highly recommend the Shibumi – it’s innovative design is both attractive and effective and it provides a wonderful beach experience!

   For years, we’ve visited the Outer Banks in NC and lugged along an E-Z Up tent for shade. Those tents are great but they’re quite heavy and the wind/sand combination does a lot of damage to them and you’ll only get a trip or two out of it. Bought the Shibumi for this year’s trip but also brought the E-Z Up as I didn’t have faith it would work effectively. The Shibumi is super lightweight and turned out to be very easy to put up and put away. It stays aloft by wind power so it’s fairly loud (think a kite rippling above your head all day) but it worked like a charm with the constant breeze you get on a barrier island. So much easier than dealing with the E-Z Up! You need a constant wind and have to orient it in the direction the wind is coming from, so there may be other use cases where it won’t work…. but in terms of hitting the Outer Banks, this thing is awesome and well worth the case. The E-Z Up stayed in the car the whole week and will stay home for future trips. I was so excited about how well it worked that I declared it the greatest invention of all time! Saw lots of them on the beach in Ocracoke so I think word is getting around!

   The Shibumi Shade is worth every penny. It is light to carry, easy to set up, and covers a good amount of surface area on the sand. It definitely takes the cake on any beach day, even with the lightest wind. Bright color quality, too!

   Easy to set up. Provides as much shade as our 10×10 pop up when the wind is good. A little less when it isn’t. You might have to turn it perpendicular to the beach to get the good wind although it doesn’t take much. Great alternative to a pop up. And it’s light so it’s not a big deal to schlep off the beach after a long day of laying on your ass drinking beer underneath it. I tried to buy different stakes which were suggested but filling the bag full of sand works fine and you don’t have to pound it into the ground every time you move the shade. This is day 4 with it. Seems very secure and I’m not worried about it blowing away with a strong wind like an umbrella. It’s expensive AF but worth it. Horry county needs to get their head out of their ass and allow these on Myrtle beach.

   This thing is definitely not cheap but it’s pretty worth it if you go to the beach often. Super lightweight, compact design, and sets up in 2 minutes MAX. All you have to do is connect the poles, run it through the fabric, stick both ends of the poles in the sand/dirt, and fill the sandbag as an anchor and Voila you’re done!

   Provides more than enough shade for 4 people but you could easily fit 7 – 8 people under. Another benefit is that you will always know where your site is as this thing stands out from the rest of the beachgoers. It even works well with little wind. 5* from me

   My husband loves how lightweight and easy this is to set up and take down! You can adjust how low you would like the cover on one side vs the other. This allows us to simply loosen and tie the cover back down when the sun moves the shade, where as previously with a pop up tent we would have to move all of our stuff to follow the shade under the tent. Best beach purchase I have made since moving to Florida! This is more than enough shade for 4 chairs plus our cooler.

   This thing works great. Have used it for several beach trips now. Setup is super easy. We found that twisting the fabric gently as you stuff it back in the bag makes putting it away easier. It flies well even when we were concerned there wouldn’t be enough wind for it to work. I don’t live at the beach, but I do go several times a year. I’m not sure where these people are going that say there wasn’t enough wind to make it fly. You do have to turn it to face the wind, even if that means it’s not facing toward the water.

   This is a fantastic beach shade. It works well. It’s easy to move it throughout the day as the sun changes angle, it’s very easy to set up. It is a little loud when the wind is high, but that is reasonable given how it works. Even in low wind, we had great shade. We’ve used it now on multiple beach trips and have been nothing but happy with a performance. Also very lightweight. As one person it takes, less than five minutes to set up or take down.

    This is a great shade for us on the beach. The shaded area is really big and was able to comfortably fit all six of us plus our coolers.

    However, if the wind is being finicky (speeding up, slowing down, changing directions) this shade will be difficult to use as well.

    The shade is super easy to set up, take down, and transport. The entire set up collapses down into a 6” x 1.5’ fabric cylinder.

    Assuming you have steady, predictable wind, this shade will be perfect for you.
