Very light weight for a 3 man tent (heck even for a 2 man). Packs down small, love the included compression storage bag. Kept me totally dry during a day long downpour in Utahs’s Uinta mtns.

Big fan of Sierra Designs equipment, so I decided to pull the trigger. The tent is a great size for 3 mid size adults. At 84″ long, it will work for most adults under 6’8″. The width and top spreader bar makes for lots of shoulder room. Color coding and simple pole layout make setup very simple. The fabrics are thin, but heavier duty than others, so they should hold up well if treated well. My tent was a little heavier than spec’s at 4lbs 3 oz. But it does include 10 stakes and I doubt I would need that many, so I’ll leave a few at home. Zippers worked great, but still can get snagged in the fly. The profile of the tent works very well in windy conditions especially if you can face the lower end into the wind. We had no issues with 5-10 mile winds with just a few stakes at the mid and vestibule points. The fly is a little low so entering and exiting does require a bit of bending, but height inside the tent is great with nobody touching the top. We had some condensation, but again that sloping of the walls and toward the feet meant it rolled off quite nicely without soaking anything at the foot end. I suspect we could have unzipped the fly at the top for a bit more venting, but it was fine as is – temps were in the low 20’s at night, so we expected some condensation. Overall, I’m impressed, hope it lasts as long as my 15 year old Sierra Designs tent that it replaced!

Not sure about this because I haven’t used it yet. Don’t like how you attach the rain fly. No clips. Weighs more than it says it does. Needs better and smaller stuff sacks. I will know more in a month when I use it.

Unfortunately, this tent is not 3 seasons and is good for summertime only. The design is slightly underdeveloped.

Decent tent but the actual floor dimensions are 84×68 – not quite as wide as the advertised 84×70. The weight without the plastic bags, tags, and instruction is 2155 grams which is almost what was promised (only 15 grams extra) . No guy lines on the two sides of the fly though, adding them will add a few more grams. The ultralight stakes are a pain to insert with your bare hands due to their sharp ends. Overall, good enough for $270 on sale but not stellar as I expected from all the glowing reviews.
