   I love these stakes! One of the best features is that you can run your guy lines through the grommet holes and forget about them because regardless of what direction they turn with the wind knocking things around as it does, the guys lines aren’t coming out. Their deep, strong, and well thought out and it was a neat discovery that the grommet holes are big enough to put another stake through and twist/pull it out. If I ever need more stakes, these are my go to style and my friends and I affectionately call them “Vampire Killers.”

   I have used lots of tent stakes in the past, but never seen such a build quality and thickness yet very functional tent stake. Have plans to order another set.

   I have two sizes of these stakes. They are excellent, high quality stakes for people who are not concerned about weight and want holding power. Combined with a good hammer (I have the super splurge copper top snow peak, which is quiet,strong, and effective ) these stakes go in easily. They also come out easily using the pointy end of your tent leg hammer. The 8″ is great for everyday use in a wide variety of soils. The 11’s, I use for heavy winds.

    I used the R30 stakes to anchor a swimming pool ladder for the summer (often rained), and, after pulling them out, they had a little corrosion (rust) in a few of the letters “CAMPINGMOON” forged into the top of the stakes. There was no corrosion on the shaft. I was a bit concerned before purchase because their material, 420J2, has lower corrosion resistance compared to 200 or 300 series stainless steels. In comparison, the 12″ galvanized nails I used previous years were a rusty mess. Count me as happy with their performance.

    Otherwise, they seem plenty strong, and the hook-and-hole tie off points worked well. I’m looking forward to using them to secure my tent/tarp when the soil is too hard for normal tent stakes.
