Does not retract on its own. Funny they don’t mention that in the description. Had to roll it up around the front bar and jamming it into the sleeve.

I’d been looking at different awning options for my pick up. And I saw the yescom original awning lots of reviews said the zipper was wrong and that was the biggest complaint. Well this updated version they fixed the zipper issue and the added light is awesome I should have snapped some photos but it puts off plenty of light. The only issue I have seen so far is the protection bag does let water in, here in the PNW it rains a lot so it’s whatever just one thing I noticed. I haven’t got to test it for to long yet hoping to hit the hills soon and try it for a weekend but otherwise the half and hour here and there I have used it it’s been great

So I ordered this Awning a few weeks ago and finally got around to mounting it on my SUV today. I went to unzip it for the first time to store the supporting hardware in the awning storage bag and to my disbelief the zipper immediately broke. I would not recommend this product. What a piece of Junk!

The product appeared to be good quality and well designed except for the installation hardware. The description simply said I needed a car with roof racks. I have an SUV with the proper racks but the hardware did not work. It was two pieces of metal – one L bracket and another straight piece where the two pieces bolt together around the roof rack. There was too much play side-to-side and the unit kept shifting when I drove even at low speeds. I couldn’t get it to work so had to return it. They charged me $30 in shipping to return, also something they don’t mention in their write-up.

Ive used this awning for a year now and have been very disappointed and frustrated with noir low quality. Things just keep breaking after a couple uses. From the very start the zipper on the awning cover has been a huge pain to zip up. I’d say skip this one and try another brand.

Coming back to write a new review after awning completely failed. It’s good when there isn’t any rain. Completely buckled. Had out for a couple hours in our backyard when it started raining. Rain wasn’t long and we looked outside to see it completely buckled. Thankful we weren’t on a trip. Sad it didn’t hold up.
