Was discribed as like new but the lining has gone sticky and glued itself together and the tabs on the rain fly came off after two days use. The zippers also split.
I love this canopy as far as how easy it is to put up and take down. It does take a little practice, but I do it all by myself which is why I selected this one. I live near Houston, so it is hot as hell outside here all the time. My HOA does not allow trees, so we just fry in the backyard. My dogs have no shade except the patio, but they prefer to be in the grass. You can see it really only gives you the shade of the top so less than 8x8...but something better than nothing. The flap is removeable, and you can move it as the sun moves. I have since bought a second flap because it gets old moving it because I am lazy, not because it is hard. It is super easy to move it. You will need to anchor it down with wind. I use the stakes and sandbags on the legs. I also bought the canopy extension but you need more than 1 person to put that up and I can't do it so I may have to send it back. You can't get the extra flap or canopy in this color either so that was a bummer. Overall, it is worth the money to not have to fumble and need 2 people to put it up. Super easy up and down and storage. Love this product!!!
I needed someplace to hide from the bugs while reading outdoors. This is very good for one person to do that. It's easy to assemble and easy to secure. The single biggest flaw is that it retains heat. It will actually feel cooler, even on the hottest day, when stepping out of it. It needs a vented roof to allow more heat to escape.
I didn't know much about this tent but I ordered in anyway based on the favorable whatcampingtent.com reviews and the product description and also the good price. Now that I have it, I really like it! I set it up in my back yard, as you can see from the photos, and it all looks great! The tent has all the features I was looking for, including two large doors, two vestibules, a rain fly that goes all the way to the ground, plenty of room inside, easy setup, etc. It's also very light weight, although I don't plan to actually backpack with it. The overall build quality looks very good as well. I can't speak for its durability since I just got it, but so far I'm very pleased!
It's very important to tie it down properly especially in windy areas. This is Lake Travis in TX, its very windy close to the waters edge. I have 2 stakes in the ground to either side of me and one stake behind the umbrella, using 2 cords with each stake holds it in place with strong Breezes. The 8ft canopy makes a large shadow area big enough for several people. The best part is how quick and easy it is to set up. I haven't needed the lower shaft at all. Put the stakes in the ground first with the cords. Then open the umbrella and attach the cords with the adjustable hooks (bought separately). Always take care opening it and putting it away and it will last a long time.
I searched high and low for a bathroom tent as I am not a fan of being hot and sweaty even if I'm camping. This is the highest rated tent on whatcampingtent.com that doesn't cost an arm and a leg so it went in my cart. While reading some of the reviews, I saw one where someone mentioned that this tent was good but a friend found a similar product that was better, the Megellan Portable Utility tent. I decided to order that instead since it was the same price but appeared sturdier in construction. Unfortunately, I purchased it last minute and didn't think it would reach me in time so I ordered this as a backup. Instead, I got both delivered same day so I was able to compare both "shower" tents and my conclusion is that this product is definitely the worse of the two. First it is tiny, I am 5'4 110 pound girl (writing this from my boyfriend's account) and I felt claustrophobic in it. The Megellan tent is much wider and taller. I also feel that the dark blue color adds to the claustrophobic feeling. Other cons: - There is only one pouch to hold stuff while the Magellan brings 3 pouches and has hanging rods for your towels. - No rain fly to protect the tent. Magellan has one. - Not as sturdy because there are no internal poles. Magellan is very sturdy and could withstand higher wind. - Floor comes unattached which means you could easily get mud or dirt in it if you're not careful. There is no mesh drainage system to let water escape. Megellan has both those features. - Flaps to open have no mosquito netting. Magellan does. - Biggest problem with this is that you have nowhere to hang the shower from. Pros of this tent to me is the carrying case and that's about it. I think this could work as a bathroom tent but it does not stack up against another actual shower tent. I posted photos of both for comparison.
This tarp can be used in multiple ways. I used the two tarp poles that came with the product, along with 4 of my own to create a canopy. We had a huge storm roll in with wind gusts of 20 mph. As you can see in my video, the tarp and poles took a heavy beating! I just knew it was going to tear at one or more of the guy out points. But! It did not. During pack away, I inspected the tarp, and not one tear! And it did not leak. Always look for a tarp with only one seam if possible. Each guy out point was reinforced, and two of the points had metal rings for the included poles (which didn't bend, or break. One note, is that always use heavy duty stakes, so I did not use the stakes that come with it. During normal weather, the included stakes should work just fine. The underside of the tarp is a very light silver, and the top was a dirty white, or very light tan color. It is very easy to set up, especially if you know you are buying a tarp- not a tent. Watch a u-tube video if you are unfamiliar with pitching a tarp. It folds up easily, and there is plenty of room to put it back in it's bag.
Perfect for me and the dog, and I bought the “Like New” too! I can attach his leash to the pole as an anchor. I bought this specificly for him and I. Its not big enough for a friend and a large pooch, but he has a separate pop up for those occasions. Set up was way easier than a tent. The air flaps are awesome though they don't unzip from the inside, only the outside. I'm writing this review from under the umbrella now!
Wasn't as tall as I thought it was but yet it had plenty of room inside and was easy to put up and take down.
It smelled, was stuck together when opening the "vacuum" sealed tent. elastic for holding up rain fly broke and I barely touched it, I got it for 50% off, it does seem to be waterproof.
My camping gear now includes a pop up screen house tent. It's wonderful for helping keep out the mosquitos, however it's not very secure in the the wind. The normal tent states can be difficult to push in the ground when it's hard and dry, even with a mallet. These stakes go into the ground in just a few minutes, using a power driver. The hex bit needed is included in the kit. The stakes are 10 inches long, which provide a lot of strength to to secure the corners of the screen house. The kit also includes a wire brush tool to clean the stake to remove dirt or rust. The kit also includes a carrying bag which is handy to ensure I don't loose any of the stakes or the hex bit. The stakes can be used to secure other camping gear. I also plan to utilize it with my pop up canopy tent at festivals and outdoor, outreach events.
I have this for many years and I loved. I used this in a couple times and it’s very strong and spacious. Super easy to use. I love this so much
The Orange Screws (both sizes) secured my rip-stop waterproof tarp through strong onshore winds (45 mph gusts) and Spring rains for several full days directly on the beach. I typically used the small screws on more firmer beach soil and the large screws into the softer beach sand. The large screws were also placed on the "windy" side to secure the tarp on windier days. Note: On windy days it took a few attempts to better secure the tarp line. I learned that it's BEST to NOT start screwing the pegs onto top 3-5" inches of soft beach sand, but rather remove that soft layer until you reach more firmer (wetter) beach sand below. Then screw these pegs until the top loop is above that surface layer. Once set, the tarp wasn't going anywhere under those conditions. The lines held! :)
I am exactly the wrong person to have reading dimensions and deciding whether or not something is suitable. This tent taught me that. I read the reviews and thought it would be fine. It was decidedly NOT fine and my daughter ended up sleeping in the car during our 4 day camping trip. Lucky her, it rained every night :) That said, the tent gets a five star rating because we were beach camping, with three tents, when summer storms hit. This tent is the only one that came through without broken poles or damages (we left it set up and used it to store all of our gear). Maybe it survived because it is SO INCREDIBLY SMALL but the fact is, it survived where the others did not. Related- it is exactly the right size for a 75 pound dog to use when a child randomly decides to "camp" in the living room.
I bought this tent for a 3-week round-trip camping journey spanning 20 states, from Florida to California and back to Florida. Initially, it worked great and was quite easy to set up and take down. The ease of use improves with practice. However, I encountered significant issues when it started raining. The condensation problem, which was mentioned in the product details, turned out to be extreme. During rainy nights, the tent walls were covered in water, and it wasn't clear if it was leaking or just heavy condensation. I had to get up multiple times during the night to wipe down the tent as water dripped from the ceiling onto my sleeping area. On the positive side, the tent is very spacious. I could fit a full-sized blow-up mattress inside and still had about a foot of space on either side for storage. While the roof isn't the sturdiest, it does have a spot where you can hang small items, such as a light, though it does cause a bit of sagging. Folding the tent up becomes easier with a bit of practice, but it's best to do it over grass or a clean surface to avoid picking up excess dirt, which tends to stick around until your next use. Despite its issues with rain and condensation, the tent held up well in high winds, which was impressive. Overall, this tent is good for dry conditions and offers plenty of space and ease of use. However, be prepared for potential condensation issues in rainy or humid environments. *Note: The product description does warn about possible condensation issues in areas with large temperature differences, such as mountaintops.*
