We just set it up in our backyard and everything was included and in great shape. It seems very well made and heavy duty. We won’t get a chance to use it for camping until next Spring but I’m confident it will serve us well. The instructions are not very good but with a little common sense, we were able to set it up in about 30 minutes. I expect it will take 10-15 minutes next time. Simple
Items supposed to be new but product was already used and worn out..will be returning this product....
I (like other reviewers here) debated between the Sport-brella XL and the Coleman Beach shade. I did a lot of research on shade structures. I chose the Coleman and am glad I did. The structure arrived earlier than expected. I set the structure up at home before leaving for the beach. Took me about 10 minutes the first time setting it up. I was able to easily roll it back up, poles and all and get it back in the bag. The bag is small but if you roll it just like they direct and if needed fold the tent in quarters to the size of the bag you can get it back in the bag. We took the structure to a windy beach in California. I set the structure up in camp (one could pop it open by your car) because I didn't want it to blow away, this took closer to five minutes to set up. Keep the tent zipped closed, pick it up, sort of 1/2 fold it and take it down to the beach. The tent stakes it comes with are short for the sand, but angle them in and they work great. We also used the Sand bags (comes with 6) they worked great to keep our blankets and the tent down. I was really worried about the window in the back only, (no side windows) but it was no problem, stayed cool even when there was no wind and it was hot on the beach. Opened the back door, kept the screen closed and it worked great. I saw others on the beach with the Sunbrella, they were constantly battling the sun. Moving the umbrella's. If you angle the Coleman correctly you don't have to battle the sun or move it. The front of the structure was just long enough to shade my family or we draped a towel a bit in the front. The structure is made of tent material, but it is strong. The front panel does zip closed all the way, there are other similar models that do not. We put two of the JJ coles essential blankets side by side just on the inside of the structure and it fit three adults with some left over room. The structure would fit a family with two adults and two small kids fine. We had a small cooler and a couple of regular sized back packs in the structure with still plenty of room. There are small mesh pockets on the inside near the front that held sunblock and sunglasses. At night we just zipped the tent up and took it back to camp, left it closed and took it back to the beach in the morning. When we left we packed it back down in camp. We just lifted the structure up and the sand slipped out. Packed it back down in the parking lot and fit it right back into the bag. I'm glad I chose the Coleman over the umbrella's. I can't say enough good things about this structure.
We purchased these stakes to help with the Greenhouse we purchased. Easy to put the wide stakes over the connectors that held Thursday base down. However we did learn the hard way that you have to reinforce the rest of the Greenhouse as well. The base was still in tacked after a wind storm but the greenhouse from the base up was moved to the fence. Had to rebuild but the stakes did their job great.
We purchased this for our Scouts, BSA girls troop. After using it for the first time, they said: “This was the best bathroom camping experience!” “A huge step up from last year” We also purchased the toilet seat to use on a bucket. Highly recommend! Nice and roomy. Sets up easily. Breaks down to small storage size.
Good tent, light weight, easy to assemble, get different tent stakes tho.
Tent technology certainly has advanced in recent years. I really like the way this Mobihome 6 person tent stands up. I pitched this tent all by myself, in minutes. The main four ridge poles are built into the tent, kind of like an umbrella frame. Just lay it out lift up on the center hub and pull the strings. TA DA! The main structure of the tent is up! Two more ribs for the ends, one for the rainfly, 6 tie downs, 6 stakes and you're done. Inside the tent, you have four storage pockets and a place to hang a lantern. The floor actually comes up the sides about 4 inches all the way around, improving water resistance. All of the windows are water resistant when closed. The top has a wonderful view of the sky (without the rainfly). It will sleep six people (close quarters). But, this tent is just for my wife and I. We recently bought four acres of land, to build our 'forever' home on. We plan on camping on that land when cooler weather gets here, to get the feel of our new environment. This tent is very well made out of quality materials. I'm very pleased. Good Purchase Five stars.
Quality tarp. Good coverage, watertight and solid anchor points. I've used mine on 2 trips, my friend has had one for years without failure. Worth the extra money. You'll spend the same amount replacing cheaper tarps then wise up and get one.
You get for what you pay for, which is totally ok in this case. We bought this tent just for decoration for a camping theme party not for actual camping out in the wilderness. It does have 1 flaw around the zipper. I wouldn’t recommend kids zipping it as material can get stuck on the zipper very easily. I just hope it holds up for the entire party. You can fit 3 to 4 kids.
The straps rip away at the connection to the sun shade material. I would not purchase this again. We opened and used the tent twice and now it is unusable.
Awesome tent! I set it up as one-person as was super easy. Going camping in a couple weeks so had to test it in the living room. It’s everything it promised to be so far. Will update my review after my camping trip.
This tent is HUGE! I've used it twice now on 2trips. It's front porch area is screened in and keeps the bugs out. I put a small tarp underneath where the shade part is because it's just earth under there without the tarp. We take off our shoes in the porch area. For 2 adults and 2 kids it's like a mansion. Being for 8 people.
I wouldn't call myself an experienced backpacker, but I've spent >10 nights in this tent and it has outperformed all my expectations. Stays dry in rain. Vents, vestibules and double wall design allow for great ventilation with no condensation issues. Double doors and vestibules make this plenty functional for two people. Room for 2 25" wide pads, clothes/gear at your feet or head and the rest of your gear can fit in each vestibule. Tons of pockets inside for storing things for easy access, a headlamp up for hands free light or hanging a few light clothing items to dry. Other than this being close to 5lbs (I think it was about 4.5-4.75 without the footprint), this a great purchase and out competes some high-end brand tents with similar design, similar weight, but at 3-4x the cost.
We wanted a car camping tent that was easy to set up & take down, and this fit the bill. Basically up in just a minute or two, then adding the stakes, etc. took a few more minutes. I do recommend you watch the video more than once, as the printed instructions are very basic. Take a look at how to unlock the joints on take down, in particular, and how to fold the tent back up. I would recommend getting a second or even third cinch strap to wrap around the tent to compact it before putting it in the bag. After one use, the carry bag is already showing a bit of seam wear. Also, the guy lines look as though they'd tangle pretty easily, so I secured them with rubber bands. One more observation - one reviewer couldn't figure out what the extra poles were for - they are for erecting the little entrance canopy, not shown in the video, but kind of handy to put shoes under, etc. Note that the entrance canopy needs to be put up on the side that has the guy lines attached - we started out backwards but it's easy to move the tent around to the right place once it's erected and before it's staked down.
I'm very capable of assembling just bout anything. This tent took me about 2 hours of complete frustration. Honestly, I was looking for something large enough for my ducklings as they get into their "teen" stage. The size is fine for their needs, however, I worry about it tearing and just plain not holding up to much of anything. The directions are useless, saying to insert the poles and stake, BUT you need to insert the poles into specific sleeves. When removing the poles, they come apart inside the sleeve (as most have attested to). In addition, the silver, metal connectors that are supposed to hold the poles as one unit are on with a little glue and they easily come off of the pole end that they're supposed to be affixed to (which is also why the pole come apart inside the sleeves). When I finally got the poles into the correct slots, bending the poles to get them in the plastic tabs at the base, the material is stretched so much that you can see all of the stitching and I even heard some tearing somewhere. The material is very thin and flimsy and has no girth. It doesn't even lay properly or nicely once assembled. Posting pics very deceiving. Not happy with this and I know that once it's taken down, I'll never want to go through another 2 hours of putting this thing together. That, of course, if it lasted that long. I'll be re-shopping for a "tent" and returning this. Certainly not worth $60!
