I use this tent for motorcycle camping. It has worked great for my use. I use it solo and it easily holds me and my gear. This tent is so easy to set up. Some mock that the instructions are in Chinese, but you do not need them. The inner netting, the outer fly material is very nice and durable, the zippers are quality (work easily and do not get bound up like some I've owned), and the aluminum rods are very durable. The tent overall is a superb buy. Yes, the supplied stakes are small L rods, but that is the only negative that can be said of this tent. Invest in a set of T stakes and you are set. I highly recommend this tent!

This tent is pretty much exactly as advertised and I found most of the 4 and 5 star reviews to reflect my experience. I wanted a tent with a big covered portico to keep dirty stuff away from the worst elements or to sit in during a rainy day. That’s what this is and the portico also has a bug screen. That portico area measures 10 feet at the main tent wall and narrows to about 8 feet at the screen door and has no floor. I’ll be adding a 6x8 heavy duty tarp to the ground, but any plastic or straw mat would be great. Personally I would call this a 4 person tent for a family, but it is really good for a couple or 4 person family. For 6 people you need to be very intimate or a couple plus little kids. Then again that is the truth for any tent. Just think about the size and decide what you need. Don’t look at the person count. Height is great. Inside there are 11 pouches for stuff which is a lot for a tent in this class. It also has two clothes lines that provide about 16 feet of hanging space and an optional screen pouch for the roof. If you don’t want the square screen pouch you have a hook to hang a lantern or whatever else you want to hang that isn’t too heavy. The bag to transport the tent and poles if very nice and not a tiny thing that makes putting the tent back a nightmare. The quality is good for a person who tents via driving to a site a handful of times a year. It won’t last forever but if you take care of it and put it away properly and dry I’m sure you can get many years use and more than your money’s worth. Especially when one night in a crappy hotel room costs the same as the tent. I was able to set up the tent by myself (without the fly) in 10 minutes. Very simple and great instructions if you are not used to setting up a tent.

I love this thing. Where has it been my whole life. Here is some help... 1, spread material out and spread it out as far as you can!!! 2 Attach poles, and remember to tighten the elastic thingy's it comes with but leave them on ground, 3 Fill the sand pockets FULL!!! not half way. Trust me! 4. put poles up ...et voila! You haver the best shade on the beach. Enjoy! I bought the Last purchased Aug 18, 2022 Color: Sky Blue | Size: 8.2 x 7 FT 4 Pole Perfect shade for two adult people. 4 would be tight if you want to lay down or spread out your feet in reclining position. 4 is fine for chairs. and not lying down. I guess if everyone is happy to be very close to each other 4 is fine. But we have the backpacks, beach bags and food all in the shade too. I prefer this size for 2, unless some are kids. The first time I put it together, I hadn't read the instructions ahead of time and it took maybe 15 min. Time number 2 it probably took 7 minutes. I did by myself each time. (Average size woman) REMEMBER- FILL THE SAND BAGS IF IT IS WINDY- or it won't work. I didn't even use the yellow spikes today to anchor. Take down is SO easy. I didn't even unhook the poles- I just made them apart into the 4 pieces held together by the elastic inside the poles. best choice for me and everything still fits in bag. I Can't imagine anyone not liking this.I j REALLY like this thing. This is probably the longest review I have ever written.

I just took this tent on a weekend backpacking trip and had no issues with this tent. It stood up to the wind well. The tent is easy to setup.

I won't leave home without it! No way will I visit a recreational park without taking this privacy tent with me. No matter what your age you can only restrain, contain, control, curb, hold in, the urge to go, but for so long. In the end, its aways uncomfortable and unpleasant and it takes away from the camping experience. Even if parks have portable restrooms they are usually very dirty, and mistreated and far-off the beaten path. 1.This tent arrived in New condition, no rips, holes or imperfections of any type. 2. It has its own carry bag with 2 straps. 3. The tent also arrive with 4- black/wht paracord pieces of rope of equal length to tie the tent down. 4. 4-metal tent stakes for the base, these did the job but, I will be replacing them with something more robust. 5. The zippers aren't YKK but they functioned as intended, zippers never snagged or got caught up on anything. 6. Tent has plenty of ventilation, you can open any of the 3 vented zipper areas. Be realistic if its hot outside its also going to be hot inside this tent. 7. The tent also has a pouch were you can store cleaning wipes, if you prefer to keep things 100% sanitary; off the grass/ground. 8. Setting up is as easy as taking it down. No issues at all. 9. I'm 5' 5" hieght at 170 lbs but even if you were 6' tall you still won't have an issues using this privacy tent. Inconclusion: This is an Inexpensive means to enjoy the great outdoors. It's versatile and suitable for a variety of applications and it doesn’t take up much space nor does it weigh much. It will literally pay for itself the first time you take it with you. I selected the green so it doesn't stick out, but color options are available. I'm glad I made this purchase and my family and friend's loved it. I do recommend this tent and your bladder will also thank you! If anything changes, I will update my review accordingly. I hope my review helps you out.

Well worth it. Great job ONETIGRIS in constructing this. I like having the option to have a tub/no tub, netting or no net when i go camping. Depending on the weather/situation. Most times i camp with no footprint and no netting but I’ll have this when i do need it to protect me from the wet ground, bugs and critters etc…. As far as the construction goes it is good material with great stitching. If you see in the picture i have 2 different mats. My yellow mat is an oversized single 4 inch mat and it fits in the tub of this mesh tent. You wont regret purchasing this item.

I have attached three pictures which are the 6 stakes, a close-up of one of the stakes and a firewood splitter that I anchored to the ground with 4 of the stakes. The stakes are just under 12 inches long (11.81 inches) and .31 inches in diameter. They are shaped like the letter "J". These are heavy duty stakes and are not likely to bend unless you use extreme effort. The whatcampingtent.com product description says they are made with high-grade steel and have a galvanized coating so they will not rust. The point of each of the stakes is quite sharp - FYI. The close-up of the stake was included so you see the stakes have little "ribs" on them and will help to keep them in the ground. I have a firewood splitter which I used 4 of the stakes to hold to the ground so it would not move while I was splitting wood. I pushed the stakes into the ground with my hand and then tapped them the rest of the way with the 15 pound sledge hammer I was using to split the wood. They did a good job of holding the firewood splitter in place. After I split 6 logs I looked and only one of the stakes had "risen up". I just tapped it back down with the sledge hammer I was using. If/when the ground freezes the stakes will not move. The last picture I attached to this review shows the 4 stakes I positioned around the bottom ring of the firewood splitter. These stakes have many uses. If you are looking for some heavy duty stakes to hold something securely to the ground you should consider the QNLONG 12 inch stakes. They will get the job done!

  • If it were not for the skirt not being long enough and it being so freaking hard to put together, I would love this tent! I do actually love being in the tent with very little obstructed views, but you CANNOT put this tent up yourself. Getting the poles into the joints felt next to impossible for me and I seriously cried. My husband was able to man handle them in there. Thank goodness. Once it was up, I love being in there, but like I said the skirt barely touches the ground on my porch, which allows insects to come in UNDER the tent. If the wind blows there is even more gap and there are Always open gaps under the zippers on both sides. If you are looking for something to truly keep you safe from the critters, this will not be your best option, without modifications. I tried magnets to weigh down the bottoms, but because it is so hard to put together and I don't want to take it down, the magnets would just flip off in the wind. My next attempt is to use duct tape sandwiched together all across the bottoms to eliminate the gaps. It will add weight and length. I'm praying and crossing my fingers. I really do love the size and openness of the design, especially with the two doors one on each side for easy access. I've got a full sized 7ft. porch swing and a 9ft. free-standing hammock in here with lots of other space left over. Also, it will absolutely blow away if not tied down on a windy day. Breezy is okay of course. I ultimately choose this one for the amount of inside space in a mostly rectangular shape instead of the hexagon shape of others. Good luck and hope you find what you are looking for.

So much better than a tent stake because it goes deeper and holds better (grips). Easy to put in but I would suggest to the manufacturer to bend with a flat spot on the top so it is easier to put in without a bounce. Not a biggy but I need all the help I can get with a hammer. I use these a lot for securing fencing to the ground so critters can't go under and also to hold our greenhouse and other small buildings (carports) through the winter winds. These are also shaped well so you could use it to secure landscape and cinder blocks. They are a little lighter duty than regular commercial rebar but will work great for most uses.

Once I figured out the best practices for setting this up, it was the perfect shade provision. I actually saw versions of this all over the beach, so I guess it's trending, but for good reason. It is so lightweight that you aren't going to struggle with lugging it to the beach, and one person can easily set it up, unlike those other bulky canopies. Now, it did collapse on me twice before I figured out the best way to keep it stable, so learn from my initial mistakes, and you should have no trouble. First, really FILL those sandbags, like almost to overflowing. Then, stretch the sides out as far as you can like you're trying to draw and quarter someone. Put the poles in mostly straight up but you may need to angle them slightly depending on the direction of the wind. Finally, actually USE the ropes and pegs provided, but instead of attaching them as pictured going in opposite directions, look at how the wind is blowing and line them up against the wind to stop the poles from falling over. Dig a small hole in the sand, screw the pegs in until they're steady, tie the ropes tight, and bury the pegs so only their tops are visible. I also poured some water over the sand to pack it down more. I just spent the day at a windy beach where my hat kept blowing off, but this held steady all day. Taking it down and packing it up is just as easy, and I don't know what kind of miracle fabric this thing is made out of, but the sand falls right off it, even wet sand. I am so glad I purchased this. Beats an umbrella any day!

Tanzania doesn’t have a high incidence rate of malaria compare to other sub-Saharan countries, but I was taking my parents (65+) on safari and wanted to be cautious. I wouldn't be able to forgive myself if anything happened to them! Enter this bug bivy. I had been to Tanzania before and knew that not all locations provided mosquito nets, and those that did, sometimes had holes in them. Not just for the mosquitos, but random bugs. Don’t freak out, Tanzania is beautiful. But you ARE probably staying in the middle of wilderness and a remote location. Bugs are to be expected! We used carry-on only for our trip and the bivy took up ~ 1/4 to 1/3 our carry-on. It was well worth it though. We were staying at mid-end places and in the middle of Tarangire, Ndutu, Ngronogoro (Karatu), and Serengeti. Some of the places we stayed at had a “turn-down” service where they spray the room with permethrin and let down the mosquito nets. Almost always there were still mosquitos inside the nets that would have bitten me if not for the bivy. This bivy was a little complicated to put away at first. For me, 5’4 and 120lbs, I needed to use my knees to hold the spring of the bivy while putting it away (see video for my technique). After the second time, it became second nature. Remember that you need to make bunny loops and fold in each ear, then make a figure 8 and fold over so that you get a single loop. Use your knees at this point. Again, see video. I have had several wrist surgeries and the spring of the bivy was concerning, both for putting it away and opening it up. For opening, it’s like a champagne bottle. Kind of throw it away from you and let it pop open on its own. If you open this once, you’ll know what I mean! One note — I read some reviews about a small opening of the zippers. Never saw that. See photos. Perhaps they received a defective version or didn’t know how to zip??? Tip 1: Before you get out of the bivy, hit the top a few times to make sure there are no bugs that might drop in when you open it. Quickly zip it behind you, even when going to the bathroom at night. I had an unfortunate issue of trapping a mosquito inside with me. . . User error lol Tip 2: Before we left, I screen recorded the video of how to put it away. It came in handy and I suggest you do the same!! Especially because internet and streaming might be spotty. But like I said, do it a few times and it’ll be easy. Tip 3: One side is slightly taller than the other. This taller side is where your head goes. Look for a black tag / flap on the inside of the tent and that’s where your pillow goes. In addition to a pillow or two, I would read with a giant book every night and had more than enough room. Inside the bivy I usually had my phone, a book, my glasses, and a tiny but very loud 1” speaker (White Noise Machine Babelio). My dad is 6’ and 185lbs and he fit comfortably in it, but says it will start feeling tight quickly if you’re much more than those dimensions. Sometimes it got hot inside the bivy at night. For blankets, I used a large bathroom towel or robe, since the bed blankets were far too thick and you just gotta make what you have work. I will take this with me on safari again and will require my companions to do the same. My parents were very glad we brought them. That and our own fly swatters for the drives. And flip flops for the showers. And foaming wipes for face wash. But I digress. . . I HIGHLY recommend this bug bivy for any travel where bugs might be an issue. I suppose that’s it for now. Happy travels!!

This shade was exactly what I was looking for! We are going to be taking 4 adults and 1 child to the beach and I needed something that would provide enough shade of all of us but would also fit in a suitcase so we could can take it on an airplane. We always just buy an umbrella when we get somewhere, but it seems so wasteful. Everything came in a black bag (pictured with a Stanley cup for size comparison) and was well packaged. The bag is small enough to fit in our larger luggage, but is big enough that the shade doesn't have to be folded a special way to fit. I set the entire thing up in my backyard just to try it out and it was very easy! I am about 5'3'' and I was able to do all of the steps by myself (even reaching the top of the poles). I was also able to stand up under the tent without bending over. My husband is taller than me and he was also able to stand up under the tent, although he did have to bend a little at the lowest parts. At first I was a little frustrated by the directions being vague about where the poles go, but once I tried it I realized its pretty forgiving about where you place them. The spikes that come for putting this in the ground vs the sand worked really well but some came out a little bent after one use. The directions also say to put the poles in the ground but that wasn't really possible in the grass. Even without this the tent stayed up throughout a moderately windy day. I can't wait to take this to the beach to try it out!

  • I was disappointed with the quality of the poles. They did not hold up well in windy conditions, with one of them breaking and the other not providing enough grip to stay in position. I would not recommend this product to others who need a reliable and sturdy support system for their outdoor gear.
