*Update after 2 years* Tent still holds up nicely. Camped once in the rain and there was zero leak inside the tent. For the price it’s already well worth it. *Original review* Bought this tent in early 2023 and has since taken it on 8 camping trip and it held up great. It is easier to set up with 2 people and took is less than 10 minutes. On one of the trip it rained but the tent kept us inside. It is well ventilated. All the zippers & tent poles function great. We got the 4 people tent. With 2 adults and 2 small dogs sleeping inside, there’s still plenty of room to put our stuffs in the tent. Inner pockets are useful to keep our phones, keys, and flashlight easily accessible. As a beginner tent, this really is the best option.
I am quite satisfied with my purchase so far. While the plastic parts do feel a bit flimsy, it is a good beach umbrella overall.
Quality of material has held up through many setups across different terrains. Even though material does seem thin. Space… I’m 6’ 200lbs on a good day. The length of tent is fine but if trying to tuck in an extra backpack or have to reach for your feet to close or open your sleeping bag or whatever by your feet you find it hard to reach. Head room while sleeping is fine. Waste line to feet is a tight area. Width and length seem fine, could use more height. Ventilation after settling in seems fine otherwise very warm first 20/30 minutes. Use a small portable fan in pocket near head /ventilation area to help especially during summer time. I am a warm blooded person. Otherwise not to bad with just airpad and sheet. Water resistance from above is good. I sprayed scotch guard for water repellant after first uses just as additional protection. But handled short light rain periods fine but heavy rain it did not until spraying additional water guard above. If ground saturated it seems to eventually soak through bottom like condensation. Use a cutout garbage as barrier and works good. If humid or rained there is condensation inside of tent which was always normal tent camping in my experience. Overall probably is good as any other portable tent /bivy I’ve used. Biggest issues is space for reaching near mid waist to feet area otherwise is good.
Fun story: I got this for a beach vacation, but when I got to the beach there were signs everywhere that said no tents. Bummer. But! I set this up in my livingroom anyways to check it out and it did not disappoint! It's a great size. I got the smallest one for 3 people and it's still very spacious and comfortable. The three windows are large and would allow a lot of air through. The front has a large zipper to fully close or leave open. The exterior has little pouches around the base that I imagine can be used for storing items or putting sand in to hold down. I'm surpised how big this is yet how compact it can get in its carrying case. Assembly was pretty easy and straightforward; it took me maybe 15 minutes to put together all by myself. And the instructions are sewn into the carrying case which is a great bonus. This tent could probably be used for camping for a single occupant barring it doesn't rain (the windows don't fully close). The windows can be done up 3 different ways, see pictures for examples. Overall this tent is a score and I'll be sure to find another beach that I can use it at!
We have many tents over the years of outdoor camping, but this is the Greatest and ours favorite tent. It is built very strong and durable. Plenty of walk room and well insulated. I run my air conditioner in the tent and it hold the temperature well. Will consider buying another one, but the company is not listing for sale at the moment.
I purchased this tent because I wanted a shower tent that could hold a 5 gallon bag or two. According to the comments I thought I had found just that a quality shower tent; I was wrong this tent would make a good changing room. Pros: Very spacious, One of the two windows opens completely (the flap and the mesh can both be opened), If you are about 6 foot 7 inches you can comfortably stand in this tent, and if you're only about 5ft 4in or 5ft 3in you can actually lay diagonally on the floor. Capable of holding 1 gallon milk container, an electric lantern, 1 damp standard sized towel and wash cloth, shampoo and conditioner and a bar of soap without breaking. It is fairly easy to setup and not easy to see through. Cons: Not able to hold a full 5 gallon water bag. "No way in h3ll" is what you'll say if you try it. A full 5 gallon water bag weighs 35 pounds. If you added an external TREE and bypassed the flimsy hooks then you might have a chance of using this tent with a 5 gallon water bag. Overall this tent is flimsy and overpriced, I'd say worth $30 MAYBE, I paid $54.89. Please refer to the attached pictures. Ready to try out my 5 gallon water bag and shower tent I realized when the hook began to bend that this wasn't going to work. Sooo Furious. I tried hanging the water bag with only 2 gallons and was successful but barely. I felt if I didn't let some water out that the fiberglass poles would snap for sure. At about 1.5 gallons I felt better and although the whole tent swayed with the weight of the bag I decided that you guys were worth it. I kept a gallon of warm water nearby (because I was sure that i'd need more). After a few trips of my kids and wife bringing more hot water to me, I ended up needing 6.5 gallons to feel squeaky clean. I had to kneel the majority of the shower. Two 5 gallon bags would have been great or even a hose with warm water. I gave this tent 3 stars instead of 2 or 1 star because of the space and the cool window.
Picture 1: Shows it fitting perfectly around a 2017 Chrysler Pacifica mini van. Love it so much that I will buy a 2nd one in case this one wears out and this company is not around for a replacement. It is very well made and it is a fast, one-person assembly ONCE you figure it out! Picture 2: Shows me laying in the mini van looking our into the big room. Picture 3 is looking out the big window at the stream running along side my tent. I like the height, and at 8' tall by 8 x 8 floor space, I can stand up, change clothes or lay in it and do all my yoga. If I zip all the screens up it is 100% privacy. 2 doors with windows/screens and the other 2 sides are also big windows with screens. Great ventilation. I have found that I've not needed to stake down the outside of the tent because I just set heavy water bottles in each corner on the inside of the tent and lay down a heavy 6 x 8 rug. I purchased an 8 x 8' tent base from REI and lay that under the tent. I often assemble the tent on the driveway of a campsite. The thickness and the way the tent base repels tree debris was worth the REi upgrade and will likely extend the life of the floor of the tent. Regarding fit: With the elastic they use plus their custom fit, all edges seal up to the back of my vehicle without any gaps, so it keeps the bugs out well. Made with SOFT material, so unless the car is dusty, it should not scratch. But if you love your paint, you might want one of those soft car dusters to take off any dust before you attach. If I want to drive away and leave the tent set up behind me, it takes 1 minute to detach and seal up the tent with the nifty window with a screen that the tail gate fits into. You can see how it fits around the rig from picture #4. It is easy to back it back up into the hole, lift tailgate and reattach. Only downside, which was mentioned before is the cheap holding bag. I found a water proof fishing gear bag held the tent perfectly and I could then place the entire tent on my rooftop and not worry about rain or road debris while in transit. I used to have a Coleman instant tent about this size that I used for a camping and as a screen house if it was buggy outside. I liked it but it was it was twice the size when stored, partly because of the bulky pole system. This tent can work in the same manner with the bonus that it extends your vehicles space for car camping. I'm thrilled with the purchase although it may not last 10 years like my Coleman did just because this tent it is lighter weight fabric and poles all around.
The camo scheme/color works as intended effectively rendering the tent nearly invisible when properly setup in the right environment. The tent is small but adequate and I'm 6' ft tall, although it's cramped when sitting up inside. Besides that it is otherwise quite roomy and not claustrophobic feeling. Overall it's a great stealthy tent for one person, the only shortcoming being how tight it is when sitting upright inside the tent. I just used the tent for a week long camping trip in the Coconino Forest in Arizona and it performed flawlessly and was easy to setup and take down.
I'm giving this 3 stars because I bought it for $16 It does bring stakes and ropes but nothing to tie the ropes to? Which means, the wind is enemy #1(see my picture). It kind of defeats the purpose of having one if it's flopped over all the time. An adult would probably be able to hold it up WHILE showering if you're an octopus but for my toddlers it was a scary ordeal. Pro: even though the wind was high enough to fold it over, it never flew away. I'm attributing that to hubby staking skills. Enemy #2 didn't realize until we went out and had to use it at night. If you have a light inside the shower and it is dark outside, it is almost see through. Not really private at all. There are also no hooks on the inside to hang a shower head (we have a camping one with a small lightweight tube) We haven't tried it in the summer yet but using hot water and a bucket method turned it into a mini sauna. A great thing in the winter but not sure in the summer. It is tall enough for my 6'4" hubby and all sides are covered. We like that it brings a floor separate and let us decide if we need it. Folding it depends on who is doing it. We will see on durability because after one trip, the zippers giving me serious doubts. All in all for $16 and not windy conditions pretty good
I haven't back packed with this tent yet. I'll be heading out soon so there will be a follow up review. Fresh out of the bag , I'm impressed. Easy set up and tear down. everything looks functional. Wow.... This tent grows on you. I went on a short backpacking trip this weekend and put it to the test. Set up was easy and it is super spacious. Plenty of room for me and the doberman. It went up and came down easily. I couldn't get it as taut as I's liked to have it but at the end of the day it didn't matter. It dipped into the low 40's and this tents heavier rain-fly makes it a great cooler weather tent. I have a lighter rain-fly that would fit this oddly shaped tent so on summer trips I can lighten my pack some. I'm impressed with this tent after one trip.! For the money its well worth it. This tent will for sure sleep two adults comfortably. I backpack with a doberman and between the two of us we had more than enough room for us and our gear.
First I want to say I’ve done plenty of research from watching thousands of reviews on YouTube to talking with sales associates in REI. A few of my requirements for the tent I was looking for was to have a rain fly that fully covered the whole tent, have good build quality that will last throughout the elements even during a pop up thunderstorm, and lastly be spacious enough for my family when car camping. Pros: -Very easy to set up and take down with one person. -The rain fly covers the tent and is well built. The seems on the inside of the fly are tape with laminate. The fly does cover the whole tent keeping it well protected. - The two smaller cross poles help significantly with spacing and sturdiness. With the tent corners and fly staked down I used 12 tent stakes and that thing isn’t going anywhere. I have not weathered a good storm but I feel as tho it will with stand any storm. - Size of the tent is large for a 4 person. In the picture that’s a queen size air mattress. There is plenty of room for it and other items. - The quality of the bags impressed me. I feel you don’t have to stuff and stress the bag as you do on older tent bags. Cons: - Some parts in the stitching feel cheap as comparable to a Coleman or Ozark. Overall still a durable tent. - Tent poles are aluminum poles and do not feel as strong as the usually fiberglass poles. They are lighter but we will see on longevity. - Tent stakes. I would recommend upgrading the tent stakes they are just cheap stakes that bend and won’t hold well. Overall I’m very impress and happy with this tent. For a car camping tent I feel it will easily weather any storm that might pop up. 10/10 recommend. For $100 this tent is well worth the money and better then any tent you’ll find at a retail store.
We absolutely love this tent! Very spacious. A lot of room to move around. Fits two twin cots perfectly along with bags. Sleeps 4 comfortably. Can of course sleep more with no problem.
I took the tent on a 3-day 72-mile trip down the green river last week. The tent was easy to setup. The floor mat was great. One day we had a bit of wind overnight. When I got up in the morning the tent was missing. The stakes don't really hold it in the sand. I found it a few yards away because it collapsed as it blew over. Hurray. On another windy day I used the ropes to tie it to willow bushes on all four sides. The grommets provided worked great. It is a bit of a trick to learn how to put it away. I was better at it on the third day. The tent performed better than expected. I will use it for years to come.
Very nice shelter. Used for a 5 day trip in autumn and rode out a pretty nasty thunderstorm including hail one night. Stayed dry inside, nice footprint, plenty of room for myself and one other plus packs and boots. I don’t carry or use trekking poles so just throw it up and guy the top parts out to a ridgeline I bring for the purpose (35’ of mule tape is usually plenty where I camp, and is very lightweight). Overall if you’re okay with sleeping on the ground and no bug netting, this is a very nice shelter and I’d recommend it. Easy to pitch, sturdy, lightweight and fairly compact. It’s a step up from the 10x10 tarp I used to use, and the zipper door gives it a bit more weather and rain resistance than an open tarp has. If you don’t have or use trekking poles, it can definitely be pitched with a ridge line, or you can cut sticks to length as indicated on the size markings on the side of the tarp. Personally I like it better with a ridge line since you don’t have the poles inside the tent. Much more open feel and still plenty sturdy. I took about half the stakes out of the bag, and added the ridge line for a slight weight savings over the listed weight.
Took this twin pop up set on a four day camping trip and used it as a shower and toilet room duo. This helped us to maintain our privacy while conducting our personal business and was a wonderful addition so I will be bringing along with us on our next 7 day camping trip. This product pops up super easy, folds away just as fast and takes up minimal space when put away.
