We bought this tent (the size that is big enough for 3 or 4) to sit in at an outdoor event that started in the late afternoon on what turned out to be a 100° day. After a little practice, it was easy to set up and take down in just a few minutes. It actually took longer to get it back in the bag than it took to collapse it. Once it was up, we found it to be very sturdy and solid. It didn't lean or collapse or blow around, though there was not a strong wind when we used it so I can't exactly speak to what happens in the wind. The blue color is really nice. We bought some matching low, shirt-legged beach chairs to go with it and two fit nicely under the shade part of the tent and we could still see out. We decided that we could probably also sit in a regular sized (not short legs) folding chair under the shady part and still see out. There is sufficient room under the ceiling of this tent for two people to be completely out of the sun so you dont have to get sunburnt. There are three zipper windows that we unzipped to let a breeze circulate inside. We also bought an 8" camping fan. Next time we use this I will probably buy a second fan so we each have one The inside of the tent has pockets to put keys and cell phones or other things you want to keep off the ground. We did find a shady spot to set up so the sun was not directly on us. Despite 100° heat and high humidity, we were comfortable enough to enjoy the event, and we were happy we had spent the money to buy this. Just, BTW, though I am not a camping kind of person, two people with blankets or sleeping bags could sleep nicely inside this tent, and maybe even two small pets. The "front porch" of this tent is plasticized to keep moisture from the ground from gettin on you, and it zips up. The "window " flaps zip up so you could be complete enclosed. We were pleased with this purchase.

These are very nice tent stakes but one of them new out of the bag (never used) was split. Could be a potential issue in quality control long term.

After a few practice setups and more importantly, take downs, I tested this tent (2P) camping this past weekend. IT does indeed go up very quickly and one could argue that is goes down just about as fast. However, because I was camping with others that made me show them how easy it was a few times it may have lost its speed advantage over other tents. People find it amazing and want to see it. The test also included it in both some mild wind and some rain. It handled both very well and did not leak a drop! The issues others have pointed out about the door being inset when open and water getting in that way are indeed true, but minor. Many tents get wet around the door in the rain as folks enter and exit. You just wipe it up. I might rig a tiny fly extension for it to prevent this when using it in the future. All of my other tents that get used frequently are Sierra Designs, two of which are four season tents. Is this one as good as those? No, no it is not. In “real weather,” or backpacking I’d use the Sierra Designs tents. But they take far more effort and time to setup and take down. In good weather the Pop Up has them beat! I also use a Sierra Designs Baffin Bivy and though not a tent, it is used for speed, i.e set up and take down camp fast. It is still faster than the Coleman Popup, but not by a lot and the Pop Up is certainly more comfortable and less of an issue in rain. Others have pointed out issues taking the tent down and folding it up, even broken polls while doing this. I did not have any issue. I watched the YouTube videos and made a point of being gentle. I practiced a lot. I can fold it up in well under a minute. I have folded it up maybe 40 times without any poll issues or failures. To those having issues, practice, never force it and watch the you tube videos of the folks who know how to do it. It is really, really, easy. Others have pointed out the door zipper can be difficult to zip. This is also true and more so when the tent is staked out. It is not a one handed operation, but to be just, on all three of my Sierra Designs tents, it is a two handed operation also, and mostly where the door corves when they are put up tight. The Coleman was the same, though it is slightly harder to zip up. I’d ding it for that, but I got used to it pretty fast. It is another thing where being gentle with it will have rewards. Some have pointed out the cloth floor as an issue. Though, many tents have fabric flows this one seems thin and may be a vulnerable spot. I used a small tarp under It (I use fitted ground cloths with my other tents). I sized the tarp so most of the water running off the tent hit dirt and not the tarp (so the water does not go under the tent). I did not have any problems. Finally, it comes down to how many stars. I could easily say my Sierra Designs, tents are 5 stars and therefore this must be something far less. However, the Sierra Designs tents cost three to five times as much! The ease of setup earns this tent a great score. For the price this Coleman Popup is 100% worth it. Five stars.

The i-beam construction fails due to an excessively deep notch into the main supporting structure of the material. If using in any ground and unknowingly hit a rock or other resistance i imagine this will always happen. 4 out of 8 failed on me my last trip out with them.

Cheap piece of garbage. I got this for my back patio, to block out some of the sun. We had an unexpected snowfall (southern Louisiana) of about 1 inch, which lasted about a day. That tiny bit of snow completely destroyed this pitiful excuse for a canopy. Those asking about the durability of this canopy should look elsewhere. I think I got to use this one or twice before it was totally destroyed by an inch of Louisiana snow. Not just damaged - demolished. I will contact the manufacturer and see what they are willing to do to make this right. They claim to offer a durable, quality product, but my experience has been exactly the opposite. As you can see in the pictures, part of the frame snapped completely in half from one night of moderate weather. I posted a picture that includes a cheap "portable shed" from Harbor Freight next to the Tailgaterz, and the cheap HF one is fine. I am still in shock at how flimsy the Tailgaterz product was. For now, I recommend avoiding this product at any cost. You are better off using a cardboard box. The result will be the same, but at least you will save money, plus the setup is much easier and quicker. Tailgaterz, shame on you. Please contact me and make this right, if you stand behind your products.

This tent had a section of the pole break during setup at connection to other pole slip in. I was at an event and spent most of the day trying to fix it(hot and humid). I did get it fixed and put it up and found another part of section of pole had split linear and i had to duct tape it. Then before tearing down the next day noticed at top another pole section cracked linear. Due to heat and humid at conditions at Beach type area I was exhausted and not happy with the troubles I had. I am returning it.

Light weight and packable. We packed in about 2 1/2 miles each trip. On our first trip, with our new tent, we were elk hunting at 10,000 feet. We set it up in a howling 30 MPH wind with gusts to 50. The tent stakes would not hold, so we tied it down to our backpacks. We didn’t get much sleep, but it held up through the night. On our second outing, elk hunting at 8,600 feet, it snowed 6 inches overnight. It’s not a 4 season tent, so we had to knock the snow off (from the inside) every hour or so. Two days later it snowed another 3 inches. Once again it held up and kept us dry (but definitely not warm).

Great quality on the netting. very light, easy to open. A bit tricky on folding but after watching the video instruction on here, i was able to figure out and fold it correctly. Simple after that. The tent was able to be fold and fit well back into its package. I like that it’s small and thin to carry around and store. Not heavy and bulky. Love that it’s versatile so you can use it just about anywhere. Great value for the money!

It’s super big, I love it! but it rained it was raining with some strong winds. I looked up right now and saw the holes on top of tent.. smh. Now I’m disappointed in this product because I expected more..

  • Great tent. Large size. Few complaints that are fixable with some diy knowledge. Left the tent up for a week. Took some 15mph winds well. When the light rain came overnight it leaked inside all over my cots and electronics. Possibly worth it to waterproof it again. Will be moving onto another tent since i was planning on using this over winter originally.

Attached to my favorite rockers on my deck. Arrived perfectly boxed and with directions. Easy to install on chair frame. Frame is sturdy. Protects my face from the sun. Would be nice in other colors besides grey and blue but looks fine. Will be easy to fold up and pack away for winter

These are pretty nice tarp poles that fit together nicely. They are tight enough to not feel wobbly, but not so tight that you will have trouble separating them again when the time comes. The clasp is a round springy piece that provides tension without clicking into anything which is what allows for the tight fit without the getting stuck piece that we all dislike. They are thicker than I expected and are about as wide as my index finger. The metal itself feels hefty when you hold it and because of that they just feel like they are going to hold up for a long time. They come in a nice carrying draw string bag to keep them organized and together which is a nice touch. All-in-all, if you need a pole to hold a tarp, this is a nice set. I would recommend it as something to take camping or add to your emergency gear.

Worked perfectly on the beach to keep our little guy cool and to help avoid sunburn. Easy to put together but can be frustrating to get it to fold back up. Took us a lot of trial and error to get it folded back up and in the bag. But overall we were very happy

I liked it when I received it, but when I used it for the first time yesterday, the poles were bent by the wind (the wind was not very strong in a valley yesterday) and completely deformed. The seller can't help you with anything, and has contacted big agens for repairs. The price is 199 dollars. This quality is a bit disappointing!

I initially purchased this sun shelter for a weekend beach trip. The setup was a breeze, and taking it down was just as simple. Recently, we decided to use it in the backyard, and it performed exceptionally well. This tent truly shines with its ease of use, portability, and versatility! It held up perfectly despite strong winds and unexpected rain, proving its durability in various conditions. We fit a queen-sized air mattress inside with room to spare. The zip-up front was handy when the weather turned; we could quickly zip it halfway to keep the interior dry while still enjoying the fresh air. Packing it up was effortless, even after a long day. It took just a few minutes to collapse and pack away, which was a huge relief when we were ready to head home. I always recommend airing it out the next day to prevent moisture buildup. I'm so impressed with this tent that I plan to buy another one for our next adventure. Great tent!
