  • This tent sets up like a breeze and is the perfect space for 1 person. Description says it will hold a queen mattress, but it's definitely only good for a twin. I got it to use as a potty/ changing room and it's perfect! it happened to rain hard the entire weekend and this tent stayed bone dry for the duration. It attaches to the ez up in a way that creates a water seal along the top, allowing under the canopy to stay dry too. The other reviews about the flimsy zipper are correct. I doubt it will survive the summer, but it will still come in super handy without a functional zipper if it comes down to it.

I purchased the North Face Stormbreak 1 tent for an 8 day canoe trip this summer. It was lightweight, easy to setup and takedown and easily fit back into the included bag. The rainfly did an excellent job of keeping me dry with a small alcove area where I could place my drybag. There is a little room in the tent at the foot or the head to keep extra clothes and items but it's tight. The interior built in mesh pockets were perfect for a small book and a cell phone. The rainfly comes close to the ground which better protects the tent from rain but limits air circulation. This causes condensation to collect on the inside of the rainfly. Make sure you dry the rainfly out before packing up. (side note: a buddy of mine had the 2-3 person model of this tent and had the same condensation issue). Adding a medium thickness mattress pad made it difficult to sit upright without mashing my head against the inside roof of the tent. This is a great tent for 1 person, I just wish it was a little taller inside. I do not have any regrets purchasing this tent and will hopefully get many uses out of it.

  • It should be 0.75-inch diameter by 24-inch long. It's less 0.65-inch diameter by 23-inch long.

So I have been wanting to try this for some years. I finally got my new tent in just a few days after ordering it. Really fast shipping! Well, I read all about the inferior quality, lack of ability to set up and zippers getting stuck. So I am a 68 yr old woman. I decided to set this up by myself at the park and make sure it had all its parts before taking it on the road. It took me about 45 minutes to unpack and figure out the correct way to lay it out and to set it up. I found it a normal tent with a high ceiling. Today was a breezy day but I staked down one side of the tent and had no issues. I was on top of a drive through campsite so I was unable to stake down the whole tent and since I was doing a test run it really didn't matter. I really like this tent and hope to get many years use out of it as it appears to be of a quality construction. It fit my 2013 Prius excellently.

When we go to the beach, our focus is simply to lounge and relax. I truly enjoy setting up a space with all of my beach gear/furniture so we can take in all the joys of the outdoors in comfort. This canopy has been a wonderful addition to our beach set up, it's better than any others I've seen. I love how large it is! It's a huge space for the two of us and I could see it fitting 6-8 people. I also love the extra features it has, like the "skirt" around the bottom edges that you can cover/bury in the sand so that the canopy doesn't flap and make noise in the wind. I really like that it has 4 side walls, especially because we tend to stay at the beach for 6+ hours. We can simply put up a wall and block out the sun when the shade moves. I will say, it does take some work and time to set up and take down. However, it's worth it to me because I end up with the best canopy on the beach. It's very important that you open it up and even put it together for a trial run before you take it to the beach the first time because there is quite a bit of paper packaging folded in it that needs to be removed before first use. You'll also want to remove the 4 side walls before taking it to the beach, otherwise, the wind will inflate the canopy and blow it around. We didn't know better, so we struggled with it the first time. The stakes that come with it are very simple and kind of cheap, but we have not had any issues with the wind moving it. I highly recommend it! We see so many people struggle to work with the shortcomings of the typical umbrella or pop up canopy and it reminds us of how good we have it with our set up.

UPDATE - We upgraded the stakes to some heavy duty ones, and this thing survived a very severe thunderstorm and downpour. It kept the ground completely dry until it was literally flooding in from underneath (nothing you can do at that point!) It also stayed up with sustained winds a whole night with the sides down. Count me impressed. Kept us cool and shaded in 96 degree weather as well! This works super well as a rain or shade cover! It withstood a steady rain shower while beach camping. The 12x12 is a nice size, we needed something that could pack down small since we fit everything in a smaller hatchback car. We place it over the screen room of our tent. You do need a lot of room to set this up, because the poles stick out far before you bend them. Setup is a workout for 2 people, but tear down is quick. The bag it comes in is impossible to squeeze it back in, we got something a bit bigger to use for storage.

I love this tent!! It keeps the pesky bugs and mosquitoes out. Allows a cool breeze to enter. Literally took 5 minutes to put up and easy to take down. I have my tent under my awning with no sand bags or stakes and even with winds it doesn't move. I will eventually use the sand bags when necessary. Zipper to enter is without snag and the quality is awesome. It feels very heavy duty. Its spacious enough for 4 folding chairs or 2 adorandak chairs and a small table. Get it you wont be sorry!

I currently use standard tent stakes in the garden to secure trellises and taller tomato cages. They often get pulled out in the wind, or from the weight of the plants. These are an upgrade to the tent stakes. These stakes are solid and heavy, as you'd expect rebar to be. I didn't realize it, but they're also painted a glossy black color, so they feel smooth and won't leave rust on your hands. At least not when they're new. I don't know how long the finish will last but it's not critical. The chisel points are nice to help get them pounded into the ground. I use a rubber mallet so it doesn't damage the black coating, but that's just to keep rust away. Overall this is a straightforward product and a nice step up from standard stakes. If the wind pulls these out of the ground, it's probably a hurricane.

Easy to set up, durable, spacious. For kayak camping this is a wonderful backcountry tent. It's stood up to two full seasons so far now of use. That may not sound like much, but I quite literally camp for a living. Guiding multiday kayak trips, this tent sees more use in one season than the average "outdoorsy" person will go in a few years. It's been through driving rain, relentless sun in the Florida Everglades, and frosty mornings in Isle Royale ntl park. It developed a small leak on the rainfly not long ago but some seam sealer and a quick spray of waterproofing and its back in top shape. It's a big tent, which is an advantage when you have a fair amount of hear and drybags you'd like to keep inside, but it's not for everyone. It doesn't pack down super small, nor is it insanely light, so not the most ideal for backpacking, unless it was shared and actually used for 2 people, but when the weight is held by that kayak it's perfect.

*Update after 2 years* Tent still holds up nicely. Camped once in the rain and there was zero leak inside the tent. For the price it’s already well worth it. *Original review* Bought this tent in early 2023 and has since taken it on 8 camping trip and it held up great. It is easier to set up with 2 people and took is less than 10 minutes. On one of the trip it rained but the tent kept us inside. It is well ventilated. All the zippers & tent poles function great. We got the 4 people tent. With 2 adults and 2 small dogs sleeping inside, there’s still plenty of room to put our stuffs in the tent. Inner pockets are useful to keep our phones, keys, and flashlight easily accessible. As a beginner tent, this really is the best option.

Although, I feel, the assembling instructions are a little bit exaggerated (in 60 seconds). I was able to get it up fairly quickly. And in all fairness two were in the instructions. There are a several of things I like about this tent: 1) the material is sturdy; 2) the overhang is low enough to prevent rain from getting in and it does give you privacy.

Maybe the perfect tent? I need a “cold” weather, four-season-ish tent. I’m not going above tree line in winter any time soon, nor will I ever summer camp in Texas. I wanted the flexibility to zip-up and wrap-up with a rain-fly for winters in the South, but also have mesh netting for warmer temps when Souther winters just aren’t that wintery. This may be the only 4-season/flex season tent that could play in summer and winter. The addition of mesh net is what sold me. Not scientific, but it seemed to keep it about 20-degrees warmer than outside temps even when fully vented. Easy to set up with all coded connection points, and nearly all the venting could be reached laying down (nice the throttle the temps without getting up). Plenty of guy line points and the brow pole really opens up headroom and add serious rigorous. Only knock is, dang this is a small 2 person, but it was perfect for me and a big dog. She loved it. ANd the vestibule is kinda worthless. I would have loved the footprint to extend out to the front rain fly as well, but that’s what Tyvek is for, have it include more tent stakes and guy lines (think I counted 12 tie-off points.) Minor points, mostly personal.

First off , it came well packaged in a double box , whatcampingtent.com prime shipping was terrible and not really worth the cost of membership as it took over 20 days to be delivered, that said the Tent is awesome, it's made very well, very nice fabric, the zippers are ykk zippers and very solid quality, the foot print is very durable and nicely done, stakes for the footprint are cheap and bend but it's not a big deal. The stakes for the tent itself work very well and we have some rocky hard compacted soil full of shale and they just push in with ease ,and pull out very easily,The rain fly is very nice and the entire tent set up in 47 second's and that's with staking the foot print down and putting on the rain fly! Crazy fast and super easy .Took me like 2 minutes to pack it up and Stowe everything back in the water resistant bag which is also very well thought out also love the fact that the bag is oversized and everything fits perfectly back inside it without trying to force the zippers closed around the tent like 99% of the other tents I have purchased. The seperate Velcro pouch for storage of the stakes is also very nice and thought out ,keeps them away from the tent completely and within reach . I'm 6 foot 1 and I can actually stand up in the middle with tilting my head down a bit without an issue so if I needed to change my clothes it be pretty easy , the 6 windows and 2 doors when opened up make the tent feel very open and comfortable even today when it hit 89° degrees outside and I love that there's 4 pouches big enough for a small tv or laptop to be placed inside securely, I like the wall pouches too allot , makes the tent very well thought out again that you can store clothes or jackets in the walls and the huge ceiling storage area works great for a full size box fan . Today while testing out which cots will fit I accidentally dumped my icy tea and it was all over the floor, and I quickly opened up the floor and mopped it out , the removable floor is such a great idea , makes cleaning up so easy. Tent floor dried like it never happened and it was just as easy to stick the floor back into place. I also think it's near to that with the Gazelle I can add my portable 100 watt solar panel to the outside, open up the floor and run my wire to the solar generator inside the tent without making any holes big enough for the creepy crawlers to access the inside ! This is a big deal and game changer in my opinion. I've been backpacking and camping for several years now and I operate a outdoors club here and tested out so many tent's that I just couldn't recommend. This tent however I highly recommend it, 5 stars is way to low of a rating in my opinion. Looking forward to many years of use and I'm definitely going to be purchasing another one.
