This tent is AWESOME, the best we have ever owned so far and we are experienced campers (both of us since childhood). Finally.. a tent that has enough standing room to change clothes!! Plus, having 2 doors is just flippin' awesome. The geometrical design is really cool too and brings some great moonlit views through the roof at night. 🌙 In relation to other reviews I do want to say it is standard that literally all tents, no matter their make - come small and dont usually fit the actual person count. 2 person is always a slightly roomy 1 person, 3 person a tight 2 person, and 4 person enough room for 2 ppl and (maybe) their gear. Knowing this we bought the 4 person Kazoo for 2 adults, and we were surprised just how much room it has compared to other 4 person tents. There's room for us as well as all of our gear, a dog, and 2 small children, so we know we will have this for a long time as our family grows. 😊 As far as durability goes it is excellent so far. We recommend getting a footprint for it though because the material is not heavy duty tarp on the bottom (though it is durable - we just wanted to be safe and prolong its lifespan). It got VERY, VERY windy on the last day where we camped in Utah, and the guylines held up great. The tent and poles withstood the strong winds very well with no problems whatsoever. I always spray an extra layer of waterproofing on every tent we get which i also did with this, but we could tell this thing is waterproofed well on its own especially around the zippers and doors. If you're looking for a really roomy yet durable option, thats also easy to set up, go with this one. It's great 😎👍
We recently used this tent for our trip to the beach for our portable retractable toilet, which we also purchased on whatcampingtent.com. It was very easy to pop open and set up but took two of us to pin it down because of strong winds. We used saddlebag style sandbags (also purchased on whatcampingtent.com) to hold down each corner (only necessary due to strong winds) in addition to the included stakes. It held strong all afternoon without any issues. It was comfortable inside. It wasn't hot inside, which we wondered about since it is black, but the silver interior lining worked because it didn't attract heat rays (we used this in Texas during high 80s). The top is completely mesh, which allowed for plenty of sunlight and air ventilation. We didn't need a light inside at all during daylight hours. It was roomy enough for us to change out of swimsuits into dry clothes, and my husband is a big guy. The height was comfortable both of us as we are shorter than 5'7". The double zippers all worked fine. The clothes line inside was helpful for changing clothes, as we didn't use the included attachable bottom since we were using it on sand. There are two double mesh pockets on either side toward the bottom on the inside. These are excellent, because we could put a pack of disposable wet wipes in one pocket and there was a pocket behind that one where we could store shower shoes had we been using it to shower. The pockets are located at the perfect height to grab the wipes while seated on the portable toilet, as well as a bottle of hand sanitizer. On the other side, we stored the poo gel packs (also purchased on whatcampingtent.com) and the extra toilet bags that in came with our portable potty in the front pocket and, again, because they are double mesh pockets there is room for your cell phone and keys or whatever in the other pocket behind it, if needed The tent bottom is attachable by loops at the 4 corners. So, had we wanted to use it, we would have needed to put the included stakes through both the loop at the corner of the tent and then through the loop on the bottom to fasten them down together. It's open at the bottom, otherwise, allowing for water to drain out. Since we didn't use it as a shower, we can't comment on that. There are two zippered windows, one on each side, up high enough that you won't be looking out at anyone while toileting or showering. There's a shower head loop located above one of the two side windows to feed your shower line through and hang, or you can feed it through one of the side windows and use the loop overhead to hang your showerhead if you prefer it higher up and more directly over your head. The tent also comes with a shower caddy, which has two large mesh pockets in front and a larger dry pocket in back with a flap over it to hold your towel and keep it dry while showering. The caddy was strong enough and large enough when I tested it out that it could easily hold several regular sized shampoo/conditioner/bodywash bottles for two separate people. There are loops to hang the caddy inside or outside the tent in various places for convenience. There is also an included rain cover with hooks to attach it to loops over the mesh top. Personally, we worried about strong winds potentially pulling it off, so we bought a 4 pack of mini caribiners for under $2 separately to attach the rain cover more securely. It didn't rain when we used it, so we didn't test it out. Overall, we like the design of this tent better than any of the other ones we looked at online. It seems like good value for the money with all the features it includes. We wanted a tent that we could potentially use for showering, too, later on if we decided to go camping, not just for toileting and changing clothes. We didn't have any issues with odors at all, but we did use poo gel in our portable potty after each use. The tent itself seemed like good quality material and was durable and strong and stood up nice and straight even with strong winds blowing against it all day (see photo). Taking it down was slightly changing only because I forgot how and had to look up the instruction video on my phone. Once I watched the video again, it took me less than a minute to fold it away into the included carry case (just remember 1, 2, 3... step 1: fold it in half, then step 2: roll it forward from top to bottom like you are rolling up a sleeping bag, and step 3: then twist it like a windshield shade to get it flat). It was very lightweight and easy to carry. It stored easily in the stow and go area of our 2017 Chrysler Pacifica minivan even with lots of other items already stored in the stow and go. So, it folds up nice and flat and doesn't take up much space.
First of all, this is by far the best fold up quick set up takedown tent on the market!! If I could give it 100 stars I would! We wanted to add a pop up tent to our arsenal for easy set up on short camping trips. The construction of the tent pole is mostly what had us at buy. We have tried 12 tents in this category. The Kazoo out performed all of them by a mile! Kazoo put their focus & engineering on functionality & quality. I don’t need a gear loft and ambient lighting, I need aluminum poles and a top rated rain fly that will actually keep us dry. All the other competitor tent poles were either fiberglass or plastic, neither of which could withstand our active outdoor adventure lifestyle and repeated use. The main disadvantage with every other competitor was their poles broke within the first three uses. We’ve already set up our Kazoo tent a few times and it has never failed us in any way. On the first camp trip, we woke up to rain on the first morning after setting up the Kazoo and there was not a drop of water in the tent. The tent has lots of screen for ventilation but the rain fly gave us enough protection from the elements to get through the 33 degree night. This ventilation bodes well for our Hot Texas Summers. The tent had room for a queen size mattress, our gear bags, and a 75lb dog who likes to stretch out when he is worn out from a long day at camp. Breaking down camp is never fun, but this tent comes down and packs up in about five minutes. Bottom line, to keep it short, if you’re looking for this type tent, stop shopping and BUY by this Kazoo Tent! Cannot recommend or accolade it enough! Since it’s only been on a few trips with us, we will update the review and add more pictures over the next few weeks.
As you can see in the picture, I recently purchased both the classic and mini sizes. The mini performs just as well as the classic, and smaller size allows for an even faster setup/take down. My wife and I always try to see how quickly we can put it up, and I swear we're getting close to the two minute mark. We took our mini with us on a family trip to Jekyll Island and it worked wonders. The small pack size and light weight made for easy travel/carrying. Our friends on the trip ended up buying a Shibumi for themselves after sharing ours all week! The price seems very reasonable given how easy it makes our beach days, plus I can tell the quality that went into the construction will allow us to get several beach seasons out of it. Amazing product I couldn't recommend more.
Honestly, I did not expect much from this tent since most recommended ones are so much more expensive. However, this is a decent tent! No condensed wetness in the morning, extremely easy to setup. It's plenty of space for one, for two you'll just be laying on the floor next to each other, no space for anything else, but it has two exits so no need to crawl over another person to go to the restroom at night. Very comfortable, good ventilation and yet nice isolation to keep you warm (I'd say it's good for mid-spring through mid-autumn in a mild climate).
This tent is amazing. It truly does seep in about a minute once you get the process of setting it up learned. It’s very straightforward. Take the text out of the carry bag, lay the footprint out, then start pulling the yellow pulls, go around pulling it out, then step inside to push the ceiling up. Easy! It has so much room in it, even extending my arm all the way above my head I could not touch the ceiling. Comes with a very easy to attach rain fly as well. Seams appear to be properly taped to help waterproof it too. Takedown is just the reverse. A bit bulky when packed up but if you are using this for multiple people it packs up very nicely. Not too heavy to lug around as well. Love this tent!
We traveled across country using g the tent to camp in and it was great! We first tested it in the backyard when it was cold. We bought a little wood stove to heat it and it was great. The tent isn't big enough for 4 cots and the wood stove so we used 2 cots and 2 air mattresses. It was cozy. The tent stayed warm the whole night. When traveling over the summer we were sleeping 4 in the tent (2 adults and 2 kids). We all used air mattresses and sleeping bags and it was perfect. We had space to walk around without constantly stepping on someone's bed or having to move them. There was plenty of space for all of our bags and more with room to spare. Quite a few of the nights sleeping it rained and some water got in, even though we sprayed them with a waterproofing spray, most of it seemed to come in from the flap over the bottom zipper. So we will definitely spray that more to see if it helps. It was kind of hot in the tent during the summer time and I wish there was a couple windows higher up to allow the heat out but that probably won't work too well in the winter. The windows in the bottom section worked good enough. The tent does take a bit longer than a nylon tent to dry but that isn't too bad. We just set it up in the barn for a couple days out of the weather. The floor was easy to sweep and decent enough to mop up the mudd we tracked in so that's great! It is heavy so keep that in mind. But it is pretty simple to set up and take down! The loop on the pole was great for a later or flashlight to get light in it! We love the tent!
This is the easiest pop up canopy I've ever had! I do a lot of craft shows and I don't always have someone there to help me set up a canopy... and I don't need anyone's help with this!! I just had to put the canopy on the first time and pull the corners apart and then push the middle up and the canopy basically does the work for you! ALSO, I had a small issue with the first one right out of the box, something very minor that I wasn't even sure they would care about, but I sent an email and before I knew it they had already sent out a remedy for it and it works fantastic! I don't want to get into specifics of my issue and the remedy because I don't want the company getting taken advantage of, but if you have an issue, reach out to them. They seem more than happy to remedy!! This fits any 10x10 craft space and it is super stable! I've been hanging grid walls from it and it shows no weakness. No holes or tears yet! It comes with fabric pouches for weights, but not the actual weights. I have had a few craft shows with some wind, nothing crazy, but it hasn't budged. I only got to use it for about 5 events so this upcoming season will be the real test! But with how well it's been traveling and functioning, I don't expect any issues! More color options would be great!
I have a hard top on my pontoon boat so I can't put the straps through the bars, so instead I had to use clips and I unzipped another part that had straps and connected it to the other side to hang it. It will due as a changing room or to use my portable potty in for privacy.
My original fiberglass poles shattered on my 6 person Kelty Doscovery Tent. They were 20.5’ long. The closest poles were 20’. But they work great and are much lighter that the original poles. Very happy so far!
The tent have very good design, I really like the idea of how this tent make your camping luxury, having an ac tent is lit!!! It took me 5 minutes to unbox the tent and 16min and 38second to set up the tent, not including the rain fly, the rain fly took me another 10 minutes, it will be quicker and easier if you could have a partner to set up the tent, since the tent is very tall, it took me a while to get the rain fly go over the top. The waterproof is my most concern, after hard decisions I decided to pick this tent, there are some reviews saying that the tent is completely not waterproof which make me worried, but I check on Napier website description, it says the tent have 2000pu, although the description on whatcampingtent.com is only 1200pu, and I test it right away when I set up the tent, the rainfly seems pretty waterproof, the inner tent also doesn’t have any water soak into the material and drip out very quickly. I would say this tent is good enough for a regular camping, it is higher than my expectation. But if you are some one who is going for an adventure camping, you might have to look for higher prices range to get the quality, this inner tent does do a great waterproof job, but when I packed I found the bottom corner does feel a little wet, a small rain definitely won’t impact anything, I would say with a heavy rain this tent might have some trouble with leaking. Since I’m having Tesla model y, the shape of the trunk is a little weird, the part that cover the trunk does have a little gap in between the tent and the car, I think you either just stay inside the tent with net windows open, or tap the cover to your car, anyway this is not a big problem for me, the little gap doesn’t effect the ac transit into the tent, keep at a good temperature with a very little leakage. The tent is pretty value for the money I spent, one thing that I really want them to improve is the zipper, it seems very bad quality and can be broke at any time, also it is hard to get around. One way to improve the waterproof level of the tent could also be upgrading the zipper to avoid more leaks possibility. Lastly the instructions on the bag is not too bad to follow, but you might still need sometime to set up the first time since it is a bit different than the regular tent itself. I fist get a little challenging packing it back into the bag, after I zip everything up into the bag I found out that this bag give a really kind design, the have more space if you open the zipper where you could be much easier while packing it up.
These are great! They came with two 1/4" bits for my cordless drill. Nice carrying bag too, and a little brush to clean off the dirt after use. Very strong, I like the threads only go 2/3 of the way leaving the smooth section of the bolt to be more gentle on a fabric/rubber grommet. Removing them is just as easy as installing them. Super easy, once there in they hold much stronger than normal stakes without threads. I like them!
We don't use it often enough for the parts to Break this easy, this quickly!
Once I figured out the best practices for setting this up, it was the perfect shade provision. I actually saw versions of this all over the beach, so I guess it's trending, but for good reason. It is so lightweight that you aren't going to struggle with lugging it to the beach, and one person can easily set it up, unlike those other bulky canopies. Now, it did collapse on me twice before I figured out the best way to keep it stable, so learn from my initial mistakes, and you should have no trouble. First, really FILL those sandbags, like almost to overflowing. Then, stretch the sides out as far as you can like you're trying to draw and quarter someone. Put the poles in mostly straight up but you may need to angle them slightly depending on the direction of the wind. Finally, actually USE the ropes and pegs provided, but instead of attaching them as pictured going in opposite directions, look at how the wind is blowing and line them up against the wind to stop the poles from falling over. Dig a small hole in the sand, screw the pegs in until they're steady, tie the ropes tight, and bury the pegs so only their tops are visible. I also poured some water over the sand to pack it down more. I just spent the day at a windy beach where my hat kept blowing off, but this held steady all day. Taking it down and packing it up is just as easy, and I don't know what kind of miracle fabric this thing is made out of, but the sand falls right off it, even wet sand. I am so glad I purchased this. Beats an umbrella any day!
La entrega fue súper demorada, el producto no estaba mal pero si su funda donde venía estaba dañada, los trato de contactar y es imposible que me respondan los de la marca de la sombrilla, ya que soporte de whatcampingtent.com no pudo hacer nada al respecto!
