I selected this roof top tent for its low profile when it’s mounted and it’s large footprint when unfolded. The tent is approximately 5” tall when you remove the ladder. I routinely park in parking garages with clearances of 6’8” and this tent mounted to factory cross bars was one of the few tents that meet that clearance height. I have to remove the ladder to stay below the height which is quickly removed by two bolts. It took approximately 45 minutes to mount the tent, but once it’s mounted it’s very quick and easy to mount. Other fold out RTTs are about 12” tall and over 150 lbs. While the price of this tent is higher, it allows you to leave it mounted during an entire camping season since the aluminum exterior protects the tent. The width is the same as a queen size bed with it being close to 7.5’ long. First trip it got down to high 40s in temperature and I had a window open since it was still plenty warm. I also ordered the associated annex directly from the manufacturer and they were very responsive. Overall the tent feels well made and the slim profile makes it easy to store and mount.

I LOVE this tent!! I just recently moved to Miami and plan to spend my time off at the beach... I first set it up in my living room just to see if I could fold it up (based on other reviews), I got it first try! Once set up on the beach it was a LITTLE harder to fold down, due to the wind- but even then it took about three tries. It literally pops up so easily and is a more than adequate size for two adults. My boyfriend and I fit more than comfortably underneath it and he is a bigger guy. We will definitely be able to get chairs under it. I have used it twice so far and the first day was fairly windy, we dug a little in order to put the stakes into firmer sand and then covered with sand piles. Also, the two sand bags on the sides help tremendously, we filled them and then added additional sand piles on top. We were confident it wasn't going anywhere. It is super light to carry when folded (about the size of a larg pizza). For the price paid, and the fast shipping it is TOTALLY worth the money spent.

The best option for price and quality. Light weight and easy to assemble.

This is just not for a cot. I can use it directly on the ground to keep the creepy or flying insects away. It was very easy to deploy and after a few tries, to pack up and secure in the bag. It has two orange cords on each end and straps on both ends to secure to a cot. The four ground stakes are weak.

Love the easy set up. Works really well in keeping you warm. Hard as heck to fold back up to fit in the case. Bottom part is very flimsy and ripped the first time I used it.

I've had this tent for a little over a year. I put it up in the fall of last year. This is the second winter. While knocking off the snow yesterday the plastic tore away from canvas. It was in the 20's but there were heaters running inside the tent the whole day. This is advertised as a year round tent and while it does stand it requires a tremendous amount of maintenance. Your gonna spend about $300 per year on waterproofing or it will leak and mold. I think you can use it year round, but maybe not leave it up. Until now I thought it was a good purchase. Let's see if customer service can change my review.

I spent a lot of time thinking about buying this tent because I was trying to justify the price point and there wasn’t many reviews with photos, but I’m SO GLAD I went with this. I absolutely LOVE this tent and how well it fit the aesthetic I was going for. Ir also kept us nice and cozy through the night. You can open up three sides of the tent and there’s a place to attach a lantern at the top of the tent. It perfectly fit our queen sized air mattress with just a little bit of leeway for access to the pump. We zipped up the door in the middle when we slept and it gets pretty warm in there and there isn’t much ventilation. If it was hot at night, I’m not sure how comfortable it would be because you might have to sacrifice a bit of privacy on the screen side of the tent to get better ventilation. There’s probably workarounds you can do about this though. During the day we rolled up the walls to get a breeze going through the tent. Keep in mind that I am not an avid camper by any means, and so I can’t speak on the durability of the tent especially since I haven’t experienced what it was like under any serious weather conditions. My only complaint is that I wish there was an actual layer for the door other than just a screen door. We had to rely on the outer layer of the tent to completely it. I would still buy 100% buy this tent again despite knowing that though and it isn’t too much of an issue for me. Also, I wish it came with more poles so that we could have all of the awnings up at the same time.

This 8 Person Family Camping Tent With a Screened Room is a beauty. It took me and a friend about 25 minutes to set it up...but could've been quicker - I was admiring it as we went. It's made of a heavy duty nylon material that's water, fire, and wind resistant; the zippers are heavy duty waterproof with nylon flaps over them for extra weather protection. The shape of the tent is tunnel-like...aerodynamic against high winds. All the tie-down ropes are attached (yay!) and the stakes are good quality. The sturdy tent poles are all coded for easy pitching. There's a step-by-step instruction manual attached to the carrying bag, and an EXTRA separate one as well. Very thoughtful. The interior is roomy and super well ventilated; it's tall enough to stand in. There's mesh storage pockets and ceiling D-rings to hang lanterns and such. The tub flooring is a PVC material to keep dry. The screened in room has alot of space to sit and relax; store ice chests, etc. I love this family tent....it's made for LOTS of family camping adventures. I also like the gray and blue color, with turquoise trim. Excellent quality and value.

  • Update: I used a handful of times over the summer and these worked great. Happy with the purchase. ---- Overall this seems like a great deal. The tent stakes feel solid, grippy, and feel light. The cord looks to be a good quality, and the bag is a nice touch. My biggest concern with this is the line locks. The centerpiece in the line locks appears somewhat fragile, and without a line in it, can get caught in a weird angle. (See attached photo, I was able to reseat it with a paperclip) But, that said, I could not recreate the crooked plastic with the line inserted in the line lock. I also attached a video that shows the line locks holding with tugs and wiggles. I'll try to update after I've installed on my hammock stop and given it a shakedown.

The quality was very poor and was broken the 1st time I tried to set it up. I had many camping gear and very handy in assemble it. I believe I didn't use too much tension on pulling the straps and all of sudden the poles connection component has a snapping sound and broken. I have never seen the material that weak, especially for a camping gear. Also, I believe it is also a design issue, there should be a stronger material for the component need to carry the tension from 3 straps with different directions. I like the concept of this canopy tarp but it can be really improved, starts from the quality.

This tent is phenomenal. Trying to go ultralight I tried a military MSS bivvy, outdoor research helium bivvy, both had way too much condensation. Tried a snugpak stratosphere, still too much condensation (but better). Tried this. It breaths. It's LIGHT. It's tiny but still holds me and my pack. It's breathable, no condensation. The mesh on a clear night without light pollution is a treat. Took it on a trip to Oklahoma with very high wind conditions and it performed like a rock start. It took me 2 mins to put the rain fly on in the wind, spent 45 mins helping my friend put the rainfly on his MSR tent in the wind. Also, it's half the size of the MSR, half the weight, and 1/3 the friggin price. Note: it comes with 6,453 stakes. You only need 6. And the rainfly connects to the same 6 that hold up the tent. Picture of this next to my friends $400 MSR. ALSO, it's small enough that I can leave my inflatable pad and sleeping bag in it, roll it all up together as a unit, and put it in my pack and move on. SUPER FAST & EASY camp setup and takedown. Gets you back on the trail quick.

This tent is pretty easy to set up, but it is tall, so you need space. My suggestion is that first you assemble the cross braces that go on the top. Then you add the long legs which go on each of the four corners. The directions say to add the legs first and then do the cross braces, but I found it easier the other way. The floor of the tent has mesh going around all 4 edges, allowing the water from your shower to flow out very nicely. At my campsite, I kept a broom next to the shower tent so I could easily swoosh all the extra water and dirt or mud etc. out of the tent (through the mesh at the sides). At home in my backyard, when I was first setting up the tent to try it out, I liked it so much, I slept in it the first couple of nights. I am only 5’1”, and I fit perfectly, sleeping diagonally in it. The only thing I thought would be nice as an improvement would be if the big doorway had a mesh to go over it so when I’m sleeping there, I can keep the mosquitoes out but still enjoy the view in the backyard. I bought some mesh netting and some Velcro. I think I will have to hot glue down the Velcro to the mesh to get it to stick. Will update you if that ever works out. Also, the screen windows are nice, but obviously even someone as short as I am, cannot have those windows open while showering, for privacy. One of the screen windows has a mesh that opens, which is very handy for feeding a hose or electrical cord in for heating up the water, etc. The other screen window, the one to the right of the front door, has a mesh which does not open. Would have been nice if they had made both of the mesh windows able to open. The way the zippers are on the front door, it’s pretty good because it’s just one zipper on the bottom edge of the front door and another zipper on the right edge going up. So there is a part in the corner there, where you can feed cords or hose in, at the floor level, going in through the door, and still have the door closed up with the 2 zippers. I didn’t get a picture of this exactly, but I have a Japanese style soaking tub, which is about 30 inches in diameter. I found that I was able to put the soaking tub in one corner of this tent and still have space to hang my shower in the other corner. Thus,, I would be able to shower in one corner of the tent and then get into my hot tub. It’s really nice that this tent is spacious enough for that. In the end, at the campsite, it worked out better for me to put the soaking tub in my main tent, where I sleep, as that was quite large and had space for the soaking tub. At the campsite, I just used the shower tent for showering only. Now that I got back from the camping trip, I’m researching ways to add a little sink to the shower tent. I think they would be space for me to use one of those plastic tubs with a drain and support it with some PVC pipe as a frame. Then I can something up where I can use the hot water from the shower for a small camping sink. I think everything would fit in this little shower tent perfectly. I didn’t typically use the rain fly because we weren’t having rain, and I like to have the view of the sky and the stars above. But I did set up the rain fly one time and it works fine. I did need to use a stepstool to be able to reach it.

  • Our family really enjoyed using this tent on our camping trip. It is very roomy, fairly easy to set up with 2 people, and was completely weatherproof through rain showers and fog/mist. It also looks really nice, if that matters to you. It is very well ventilated when fully closed, though still warm when 55 F outside at night (felt like 68-70F inside). No condensation built up inside the tent, which was a nice surprise. Seems like tent would work very well for warm conditions too, since there are lots of very large windows. The tent is a little pricey at $340, but maybe it was just poor timing to get the best price. We only had a few issues with the tent: Instructions The instructions are mostly clear, but it would still be nice to include a little info about the room divider and entrance mat in the instructions. Also, the instructions for takedown would be much better if they suggested a folding pattern to get the tent to "pole width". We folded it in half twice length-wise and it was just a little too wide to fit in the bag (we will test folding along the shorter side after it dries out in our garage). It is mainly due to the frustration of trying to get the tent into the bag (and the lack of documentation on how to best do so) that we are docking it a star. Damage Fairly minor, but there was a factory-installed patch on the floor of the tent (mostly a cosmetic "issue") and one of the guy lines was frayed. Suggestion to Coleman: Add stripes on the bottom of the tent to indicate where to fold to guarantee that the tent can be stored in its bag.

This saved us while camping!! Of all the things I was glad we had for this trip, this was at the top of the list. We camped in St. George Island State Park for two weeks, and I actually ordered this while there and had it shipped to us at the campground. Coming back sandy from the beach everyday, but then met with lots of mosquitoes back at our site, we were able to jump inside this shower tent, zip it up and enjoy a nice cold, bug-free shower after a long, hot day at the beach. Love the detachable floor and all the pockets inside for our toiletries and small light for nighttime showering. We did not stake it down until a storm blew threw when the wind picked it off the ground. We have a family of six, so also nice that half of us could go to bathouse for showers while the others lined up for this. Love this great shower tent! It will be a must for all beach/river camping for us from now on.
