Pretty impressed for the price. All the straps are well secured and properly placed. Other then have two more rows of them that is really the only complaint. But if you are looking for a light weight easy option. This is your pick. Ever the bag that it comes with you can just stuff it back in when not in use. I have used it twice in the mountains. Once on the ground and once over two hammocks in a pinch. (Would only use it for one hammock) i didnt not have to apply any water proofing at all. The next time i get a tarp i will get one with three center rows of straps and probly a little tougher material. I know that will raise the weight. But we will see.

These are heavy duty tent stakes. They come with an adapter to attach to a drill to drive them into the ground. They come with two 17 mm sockets. These are great for larger canopies, tents, and pop-ups. These are also good to use in high wind conditions. This set also comes with a cleaning brush to clean the stakes off before you put them away.

Here are a couple of quick details about me and what I was looking for with this tent. This is my third tent purchase. (see other reviews on whatcampingtent.com). I am tall at 6'5" and needed a tent that was long enough for me and had plenty of space for my gear or big enough for myself and my 8yr old...or the dog if he is up to going on a trip. For most, this tent has the room for two adults. The tent needed to be light enough for hiking. For most people, this tent is too heavy for hiking, but I can handle a little weight so it's not a problem. If trekking out with a partner, split the weight and you will be fine. For car camping or motorsport camping, the size should be great. I needed a tent with a bath tub bottom and a full rain fly. The Hooligan floor is the same material found in the Sundome line. It's thick, moves up the side by several inches, and is waterproof. It generates the most weight, but it worth the protection from the elements. Plus it has a decent sized vestibule area for boots or packs. The fly is totally taped, but I decided to waterproof it anyway with additional seam seal and proofing spray. I needed a design that could be setup when on my own. The base stakes down with 4 stakes. The single pole is SOLID. It is at least twice the diameter of the Sundome poles and is designed for strength. Inserting the pole into the pegs may be difficult when the 4 main stakes are not positioned correctly. 2 more stakes to support the pole and you're done in good weather. The rain fly provides even more support. If it's cold or windy, you will definitely want to pack and use the fly. Still, on my own, I setup this tent in less than 10 minutes with the fly on within 5 minutes. I have wanted this tent for months. When the price dropped to $33, I jumped on it. This is a great tent and worth considerably more than the current price tag. Window and door venting works well. The full fly is awesome. The tub bottom is great. A couple notes: there is a single pouch on the inside for out of the way storage, but there is not a loop to hang a lantern. I used the zipper loops and it was ok, but I plan on sewing my own loop on at the tent apex before my next outing. 5 stars all around. I will likely buy a second tent to have as a spare or for others to use.

I want something tough to make a dog bed. I ordered the "Tan" color. Nowhere in anybody's imagination would this be considered "Tan". At best I would describe it as "Greenish Gold" . Also it is very thin and doesn't feel like it would survive puppy teeth. I have decided to return this.

Set up is easy & fast. Poles are not required to assemble this pop up shower tent, it pops open all on its own in one piece. Each corner of the tent has loops to spike it down to the ground. I will say I'm not impressed with the quality of the tent stakes that come with this, very thin & cheap so I'd suggest getting some better ones if you plan on using this alot. The floor is optional to use, it's a separate piece from the tent. It can be staked down with the shower tent if you want, or just laying inside the tent unstaked. There are several windows with screens for ventilation. Each half circle window has a screen over it, and has 2 layers of zippers. (So just the screen or completely open to the outside) In the event you are caught in a storm, or dealing with some mild/medium strong winds around 15 mph this tent will literally buckle and bend halfway down. Not sturdy at all, is definitely best for calmer weather. It's okay for what it is, but not worth the price in my opinion. Also, there are no instructions for how to fold the tent back up to fit into the storage bag. Had to find a video online to show me how to do it.

I like these a lot so far. They are sturdy which was important to me. A lot of other brands seemed to have issues with wind folding them in half but I don’t expect that to happen to these easily.

  • I will definitely be telling everyone they grotta get smore of these Smore grotta pop-up camping tents (terrible joke sorry / couldn't help it). Seriously though if you are looking for an inexpensive instant / pop tent that is tremendously updated from the original type you should get this Smore grotta tent. Many years ago I owned one of the first pop tents, you know the ones that starred in a certain silverback gorilla movie. It was a fantastic idea but definitely wasn't so good when I got older as I no longer fit by myself let alone with a second person. This Smore tent however is the much more grown version, as now I fit comfortably along with my wife in this tent (I'm 6 foot 2 inches). This tent has 2 doors (1 on each end) along with 2 windows on both sides, the window coverings are only accessible from outside though unfortunately (my only complaint). The windows utilize 2 zippers on both sides along with 2 securement points when rolled up. To open or close the flap / covers you must be outside as there is no access from the inside, however this does add a bit more water resistancy. Set-up and takedown is literally instantaneous, you simply take the tent out of the bag and very carefully hold the tent as you remove the stretchy band. Then throw the tent away from you and others as it instantly pops open (be careful). Of course you do still have to stake it down as of the time of writing the technology of a self staking tent doesn't exist. This tent comes with 8 simple stakes and 4 (optional) guy lines, I say optional as these offer good structural support but are not required. The screen is very fine and prevents all insects including no see ums from reeking havoc on your camping trip. Moreover both doors and both windows have this very tiny screen mesh along with rain covers. This is a single layer tent (no external rain fly) this definitely reduces weight and setup time but does reduce the natural ventilation with the windows closed, so definitely open a window or at least allow some ventilation from one of the doors. However with all the rain flaps open this gets extremely good ventilation as all sides of the tent allow air to flow through no matter what direction the wind is blowing. There are also two pockets inside the tent on both sides to keep small items out of the way when you go to bed. This is very handy if you and your partner wear glasses as you both have a quickly accessible place to store them. In closing as I mentioned at the top of you want an instant lightweight tent get this one, this tent is comfortable even for taller people like myself. Moreover beyond this being a fantastic camping tent it's also a perfect auxiliary storage tent, this can allow instant weatherproof storage when you need temporary space in your car. I really appreciate you taking the time to read all of that, moreover I really hope this pops some answers to any questions you might have had. I also certainly hope that you are currently and continue to have an amazing day. -GhosT

  • I’m impressed with the construction material. I only had it for a week, but so far it’s sturdy, doesn’t sag, the netting material doesn’t fray, and the zipper is excellent. I honestly wouldn’t know how to fault it. I’ve owned about a half dozen pop-up Gazebos, so I know what to look for. This is a good product. However, I will caution you to get the right size. I got the smallest “6X6” size which works well for 1 or 2 people. Also, don’t leave it up in the elements all summer. It’s good for a couple of clear nights, but the material will eventually fade in the Summer and I suspect the netting will fray after long exposure. As I stated, it’s sturdy so be very careful opening it up. Even with the large warning label, I manage to take a pretty hard pop in the face when I open it. Lastly, for the price, it’s an absolute steal! I paid around about $110. I will probably buy 2 or 3 more.

Tent came a day earlier than was expected per whatcampingtent.com tracking for a surprising fast delivery. This tent was honestly so easy to put together that we thought we were here reading the directions wrong. It snaps together in a matter of a minute and comes with minimal parts so you can't overcomplicate assembly like we were trying to do! Even the instruction sheet was durable and sewn inside the carrying case so it's never lost. There is lots of netting for a very breathable, well ventilated tent that made for great star gazing. It also comes with an attachable water cover that was extremely waterproof. It easily fit our family of three including my 6 foot tall husband. It was not hot or stuffy overnight, making it comfortable for the young one to sleep. In the morning it was a fast and easy disassembly and the tent is lightweight enough that even I volunteered to carry it. We really liked it's sleek design and high ceiling. My toddler especially had a lot of fun with putting his camping chair out on the "porch" feature. I loved the bright blue color. It came exactly as pictured and described. I could not have picked a better tent. I am very happy withy purchase and would highly recommend.

This is a great idea and I really like it for camping. It isn't a tent, has no floor, but I like it. It's just enough shelter for most situations, keeps the bugs and the sun and the rain largely at bay, I love that you can sit up inside, still see around yourself in a strange place, which is more comfortable for most people. I know this isn't technically a tent, but I really like it for camping if you feel you can get away with not having the privacy of walls or a floor (bring a blanket with you for a floor). Of course this is more meant for having a little shade at the beach or the park where you can put your cooler and chairs. It's great for that. It's the size of a small pergola, plenty of room for 4-5 people and plenty of stuff. The material, the poles, the case, it's all durable. The material is thin and light, which is kinda the purpose of this product as it packs into a small bag that weighs less than a pair of boots. The material feels honestly very light, but I have been rough with it and nothing is ripping. The product photos show it would fit over a picnic table, which I think is pretty cool for a pretty convenient base for your family with shelter. It's best to think of this as a pergola or a roof, and not a full building. I usually bring several woven blankets that I put on the ground and that's worked for me, but you are a little more exposed to the dirt and the crawling bugs in that situation. Set up is easy once you've done it a few times. Lay out the (very light, somewhat thin, but durable) fabric, it's all one thing, connect the poles to the top, then connect the poles to the base (which lifts up the ceiling). I can do it in about five minutes, but the first couple of times I was confused by the shape of the fabric on the ground. Now I just look for where the poles attach to orient myself. It goes up in five minutes for me. Each pole has a rubber ball on the end and is safe and won't tear anything even if handled very roughly. The poles are long, really just two poles broken up into segments, but both connected by a stretchy rope inside. They work through the top and I thought it was pretty easy to get them through. Staked into into the ground just at the corners, the structure is stable. If there's more wind you can also stake down the ropes (already attached near the top of the columns) though I only do that half the time). There is no floor included with the 10x10. I believe get a floor with the small canopy, but not the large one, and that can be confusing because there's just this one page selling both models. So, the big canopy I like doesn't have a floor but packs up into a small case and you can easily throw some rugs on the ground than assemble a huge tent, and it's easier to pack up this way. The benefit to no floor is you can put this on top of things. Like a table that doesn't move, or we often use it to cover our little inflatable pool. I really could hike a long distance with this as my shelter, though I guess most wouldn't do that. For something you have in your car to bring with the cooler and a chair, it's ideal. Just bring a hammer rope and stakes and be patient the first time you assemble.
