We just bought it 3-23-2025 took it out for camping to test and surprisingly found 8 holes on rain fly top cover Wow. we did like it very much so sending it back for replacement giving it another chance it would arrive 3-28 2025. Hopefully it would be 100% with out any problem or damages. We will still give it a 5 star. We'll be back for the next review.
Set up is easy. I practiced putting it together in the yard so I wouldn’t struggle figuring it out at the beach. Parts seems like quality items. It comes with stakes, so you can use it without the sandbags (in grass). Good product ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.
I set this tent up last night by myself pretty easily. It rained all night, but I’m dry. The floor has a small bit of condensation, but no leaks or puddles. It’s roomy with plenty of height to stand. My biggest suggestion is to buy at least 8 substantial tent pegs. It’s worth the price
This is an amazingly versatile tent; it most definitely will hook up to an SUV practically seamlessly, but it can also be used stand alone by itself. Very impressive. Most tents for SUV's are useless without the vehicle. Not THIS Big Boy. It'll fit 4-6 adults easily, and the nylon fabric is coated with PU2000 waterproof coating which I can actually feel (and all the seams are taped) . Extremely well made of good quality materials. The set up took me a little longer than usual because this is the first SUV tent I've set up, and by myself. I piddled around and played with all the zippers and stuff and it took me 35 minutes to set up, alone. I was in no hurry. I also had 12mph winds and the tent went up nicely, and surprisingly easy. The instructions are sewn into the carrying bag, and easy to follow. The inside is tall....at least 6ft...good standing room. There's two pockets and a ceiling hook for a lantern, and a movie screen. The screen is wrinkle proof, and has four hooks that allow it to act as a "suspended ceiling" giving some "black-out" (prevents overhead sun from glaring in) when not in use; and any two corners can be dropped for use as a projector movie screen. I reallllyyyyyyy like this. The floor is heavy duty and bucket-style to prevent water from coming in during heavy rain fall. Packing this tent back up was as easy as it was pitching it. Surprisingly, it all slid right back into the carrying bag like it was greased. VERY NICE, very versatile large family camping tent. Excellent quality!
My best tent. This is my fifth tent as a searched for one that was easy to set up, tall enough to stand up inside, could hold up in bad weather conditions and finally found this one. Just attach the pump and start pumping, if you start to shake the tent, it will quickly start to pop right up, then continue pumping to reach a good pressure. I bought this tent in July and set it on my back deck. It’s now September 1st and I have not needed to add air at all! The information says 2 weeks without adding air but I am going on 6 to 7 and it’s still as solid as when I first pressurized it. There’s two doors and six windows all with weatherproof zippered covers and screens and an access point in the roof for a camping stove chimney. All of the material is rugged and the floor is exceptionally thick and rugged. I put a tarp external to the tent, so I can be inside or outside even during heavy rains. It’s also essentially freestanding. it doesn’t need a bunch of tiedowns for it to keep its shape. When you inflate it, it takes it full shape resembling a small cottage. I plan to leave it up through the winter and see how it handles snow. Based on my other tents, this design should handle the snow very well. So far, it’s been essentially a perfect tent. Not critical but the only thing lacking for me is a feed-through port to run an electrical cord or maybe a propane tank hose from the outside through the tent wall to the inside. I plan to add one myself.
I bought this several months ago for our beach trip in late June. We put up today and the fabric has a hole in one of the sand bag compartments. The fabric also has stains on it. When taking out of the package we thought it looked like sand on the poles but everything was packaged so nicely we questioned our thoughts. After stretching out the fabric we noticed the stains and the hole. Our return window has expired so we are stuck with what looks like a dirty used canvas with stains and holes in it. We have not used this simply took it out of the box today. I would not buy this product again Update: We finally got to the beach and used our canopy. This is a POS. It’s unraveling all around it. Currently we 13 areas that’s unraveling. It’s hard to imagine this lasting for our two weeks on the beach. Luckily we brought our old smaller one that’s 3 years old that still holding up great.
Excellent concept. Everything installed fast and easy. When I was pulling them out one snapped. Not sure if I had put it in a root or something, but I was surprised at the weak nature of the lag screws themselves. The glow in the dark guy line hooks are a bit of a novelty. They don't glow for long. But it's a neat idea. Lucky for me, I didn't need all 16 so I have a couple extra.
I love this tent! Was able to use it during snack time to keep dust off their things and while nursing a newborn it offered plenty of privacy and ventilation. I watched the video and practiced folding before we went to the beach so it was easy once we got there. It was easy to pack and carry, considering we used this on a road trip
This fits over an 8' picnic table. I squeezed a folding chair, but not really practical. I have a shorter table that is not as wide that I could also add chairs to, so I imagine that is what I will be doing. You can stake out the side walls to the ground, and a skirt lays flat to the ground (not sure how well this will work in the wind). I tried different poles, the ones pictured were 6' tall, this item says it has a peak height of 6.5' but I don't have poles of this height, at least not with a point that would go into a grommet. Not sure the pocket inside the tarp are strong enough for my slightly higher poles, and once that poles slipped out of the pocket onto the netting (so won't try that again). 6' seemed good for a picnic table, anyway. I was able to put this back in the stuff sack, but had to re-roll it, as I wasn't paying enough attention the first time. I wonder if one should put up the screening before taking it down? I dropped this onto the picnic table and folded the netting into the center, and then fold the solid tarp into the center which happened to make it just right for the stuff sack. I folded the ends in, then folded the tarp from the end, then rolled up. I put it up without the table to get used to it. then dropped over the table and put the poles I decided worked best again. I think the table kept the pole from falling to the side. A tarp I have you stake out the 2 front sides which also kept the pole from falling, but you would have to get the length of the line fairly accurate. Then just walk to the other end keeping the Ridgeline taut, and when you reach the other end insert the other pole and keeping it taut by its guy line which you stakeout. Then stakeout the rest. I think this might work with this tarp, staking out the sides first, before staking out the ONE guy line for the pole, and like the other tarp keep it taut while walking back to put the other pole in etc.. Of course trees will be. much easier. I am not used to the tensioners on the cord so I might replace them, and the black cord I often trip on, surprised how much the flash light light it up. Might replace it too. Finally the rubber band to hold the rolled up cords is a good idea just not sure how long that will last. I might use an "S" hook to attach the line to tarp, so I can store these without fiddling with the rubber band. (if you just fold up the tarp with loose lines, they will become tangled for a real mess. I might use this by itself , or under one of my car-camping tarps, the larger one could cover this and my tent. One might get bitten a few times while putting this up as it took awhile at least the first time. Most places I camp the bugs are light and take awhile to gather if at all. This will be nice if hanging out for awhile, not wanting to retreat into my backpacking tent etc. I wouldn't take this backpacking. Surprised that this works in Canadian canoe-camping, 50 years ago we had canvas tents with netting with a zipper down the center and snaps to connect to the floor. We put all our extra clothes over that and the bugs still got in. But I believe the other users which might open up sleeping under this, time will tell. Not sure about rain either if you are on the ground.
I recently purchased the Beach Tent and I couldn't be happier with my decision! From the moment I unfolded it on the shore, I knew I had found the perfect beach companion. Firstly, its setup was a breeze. Within minutes, I had it up and ready to go, providing instant shade and protection from the sun. Its lightweight design made it easy to carry, even when loaded with beach gear. The tent's durability impressed me greatly. Despite windy conditions, it stood firm, thanks to its sturdy construction and reliable stakes. Plus, the UV protection offered peace of mind, keeping my family safe from harmful rays. One of the best features is its versatility. Whether I'm lounging with a book, enjoying a picnic, or simply napping, the Beach Tent provides a cozy sanctuary. Its ample space comfortably accommodates several people, making it ideal for group outings. Cleaning and packing up were a breeze, too. The materials are easy to wipe down, and the compact size fits neatly into its carrying bag, making transportation a cinch. Overall, I highly recommend the Beach Tent to anyone seeking a high-quality, reliable shelter for their beach adventures. It's exceeded my expectations in every way, and I can't wait to use it for many summers to come!
I'm not a very experienced camper and these poles were easy to snap together and use, sturdy yet lightweight.
i used this at a music festival and it was awesome. easy set up, lots of space, folds up easily. only thing is if you are over 6ft tall, you may be squished. i am 5ft 7in and with my pillows i was toe touching the end of the tent. it was a sunny weekend with no rain or wind so i can't give an opinion about adverse weather.
This is the best rainfly I ever had it took a beating at a camping trip where we had gusts up to 55 mph for 12 hours continuously defetnely I wound recommended
This isn't necessarily a hit on the listing, but the product it's self. Packed wight is 5lbs, and minimum weight is 4lbs 12 oz. I don't know where they get 4 lbs 5 oz from. They don't say how they got that weight so it is impossible to replicate. I was able to get the 4 lbs 12 oz weight by dumping the stuff sack it comes in. I tried without the rainfly, but that took it down to 3 lbs 8oz. I bought this to replace an aging, dilapidated, and deteriorating REI Half dome. matching configurations, the half dome is lighter in every way. I will say, the construction on the Late Start is amazing. I wouldn't say military grade, but pretty much near close. The material seems far more durable then the half dome. I actually like the tent. I think it's well made and feels of high quality. It gives me confidence it would last a very long time. However, I am going on a backpacking trip for 4 days and once's equal pounds and pounds equal pain. Literally, in this situation, every once is counted and every once counts, and this tent aint it.
Here is my review after using this tent for 4 days hunting trip in Molokai Hi, which is tropical weather . I am 5'7 and It is well fit for me, if you're over 6'ft it will be too short. Easy to set up and bring down, light weight fits well in my 100liter duffle. It is well ventilated, It didnt get condensed when the cold morning hit, I got cold in it during the early morning so good thing I had a sleeping bag. My other friends tents costed twice as more than mines. I recommend this tent. Very good experience.
