The sleeve tore easily when putting the rod through the first time, see pic. The roof vents are really small, see pic. Top rainfly seems adequate. I'm six foot tall and probably could dress standing up inside. There's a hook for a light up top. Inside height is 51 inches. Easy to fit back into bag, see pic. When I got in and out really stressed the doorway top. Door sucks you have to open both right and left sides to get access. Door seems to be rain proof due to flap over zipper.. No back window in tent.
Very good sized tent. Instructions not the greatest but most times I've never had good Instructions putting up tent. Once I figured it out completely. Very easy to assemble. I did it alone in 30min. No rips or tears. Left it up during rain storm at home. No leaks. Very happy with the tent overall. Going camping next weekend, not in backyard this time. Lol. Thanks again. If you want a huge tent at decent price. This is the one.
I was able to set this up while my daughter read me the instructions in a language I was unfamiliar with (pretty easy)! I like that it included both simple and threaded stakes for use when sand is not available (sand shovels x2 also included!). The bags at the end of the ropes are of the same material as the canopy. It is a cooling type stretchy material, which does a great job of making shade. There was a bit of a breeze when I set it up. I like that you can put the poles in many different configurations depending on the direction of the sun/wind. This is super nice. I like too how compact it is when it is all folded up and put back into the carrying bag.
The stakes are of high quality and was perfect for the job, each stake was enclosed in its own plastic sheath, the stakes came in a velvet black bag with neon green rope. Pretty cool
It will take more than 5 minutes to setup for one person. The first thing I didn't like was when I was putting one of the clips onto the pole, it snapped/broke very easily (see picture). I was still able to pitch the tent and overall it was easy to setup. It comes with already attached poles which you need to pay attention to when unpacking for the first time so you can repack it easier. The tent hight in the very center touches the top of my head when standing (I am 6ft tall). There's plenty of built in space for items. It took me around 10-15 minutes to setup, but I think setting up/tearing down I should get it down to 5 minutes by myself. It does not come with a footprint so you'll have to buy one separately. I was able to tear it back down and put it back into the bag with relative ease. The reason I give it 3 stars is because the clip broke so easily on a brand new tent. This tent is good for those who like a lot of internal space. I can setup two queen size air mattresses. What they can do better is make stronger clips, make it a little taller, and provide a footprint. I'm might keep this as a backup tent in case my main tent has any issues.
This jewel was a life saver! The canopy exceeded my expectations. It is super easy to put up and just as easy to pack. It held up to some strong breezes and held tight in place. The first day I put the poles toward the middle and it did pretty well. The second day I placed them at the front and it worked like a charm. I will say that it probably fits three people comfortably. If want more people in the shade go with the larger one. While I was on the beach I saw a more expensive version fall so I was thrilled with my purchase.
This pop-up tent is exactly what we needed for watching our kids’ soccer games! The setup is super easy—just unfold and it’s ready in seconds. It fits two people comfortably, so my partner and I can sit together and stay protected from the wind and rain. The clear PVC sides and top are awesome for keeping a full view of the field without feeling boxed in. I also appreciate the lightweight design and compact size when packed; the carry bag with a shoulder strap is really convenient for transporting it to and from the car. The rain fly is a great addition—it kept us dry during a sudden drizzle last weekend. Overall, it’s sturdy, easy to use, and perfect for outdoor activities.
This item came used and damaged. It was dirty and had several holes in it. How does that even happen?????
I'm not even 6 ft tall and I can't lay down all the way. Yoga mat in pic. Maybe big enough for 2 small children. Plus the zipper on the bag is non functional.i would have sent it back if I had opened it in time.
This was SO fast and easy to put up. We secured it between 2 trees as it was pretty windy that weekend, along with securing the bottom with the included ground pins, and it didn't move a bit. Has a nice small window to open in the back to air it out, and you can open the flap in the top for added air or using as a shower. We put a tarp down on the bottom for the floor but would advise just leaving it as dirt or grass in case of any "spillage." The tarp began to smell after a few days where it probably wouldn't have if we had left it bare. Plenty of room to "do your duty" and so handy to have close to your tent for quick trips, emergencies or little children. Great investment. The only thing a little difficult was getting it to fold back up, but my husband finally figured it out (by following the directions and the pictures) and it fit perfectly back into the handy carrying case.
I was looking for a lighter tent for backpacking. Tents and sleep gear can easily get very heavy, and when you're hiking several miles, you want as light as possible. Unfortunately, I didn't get in much backpacking this summer, instead only out-and-back hikes, so I didn't get a chance to test this tent until last weekend. I'll be honest, I'm not much of a fan of small tents. Mainly because, without fail, no matter what the weather forecast calls for, there will be one kind of weather - thunderstorms. Every. Time. So, I like to have room to put my pack down, room to change clothes, etc. But, with bigger tents comes more weight. I wanted a tent that was lightweight, but durable, roomy but didn't take up much space, warm at night, but offered plenty of ventilation during the day. This is that tent! At 6'3", 230 pounds, I'm not a small guy. But, I still had room inside this tent to lay my pack across the top to act as a pillow, and enough room on the sides for things like my knife, bearspray, and flashlight. The inside pocket just inside the door is actually pretty large, and can hold quite a bit of stuff. There is also a nice little vestibule that is large enough to store your shoes under, plus a bit of gear if needed. There is a very nice screen mesh to the actual tent, and additional flaps with velcro supports at the top left (by your head) and bottom by your feet for plenty of ventilation. I didn't get to try out how water resistant it was, seeing that I only did an overnight trip, and surprisingly had decent weather. So I can't speak to how waterproof it is, but I had planned to do seamsealing and waterproofing on it anyway, as that is my standard practice for all new tents. This tent also packs down extremely small, which checked another box on my wishlist for a new tent. Let's be honest, tent makers invoke some dark magic and space-time voodoo to get their products into those bags they ship in, and once you take them out the first time, you're not getting it back in there without the help of Master Yoda and all the Jedi combined. But you'll get this one back in the bag!! It actually fits in the bag incredibly easily, and I even found room to include the official footprint for the tent along with everything else, so everything is all in one nice neat bag. I just simply laid everything flat, individually, tri-folded everything length-wise, and rolled it up, and into the bag it went. No muss, no fuss. Get everything in the bag, secure it together with the included tie strap, tuck in the cover flap, and snap down the clips and tighten down the straps. I've included photos to show how small it folds down. You also don't need trekking poles. While they do offer a nice option for setup if you want the vestibule propped open, just know it isn't required. I actually forgot my poles at home, and as you can see in the photos, it set up just fine. My only, and I mean only complaint with this tent is that it can be a bit difficult to set up by yourself, especially if you have any wind. It can definitely be done, but it isn't as quick and easy as most standard 4-person tents. Not a deal breaker but I thought I should mention it for sake of being thorough. Also, I feel I should mention that, if you do purchase the official footprint (VERY highly recommended) with this tent, just know that it only covers the tent area, and not the vestibule area. While this isn't really a big deal for me, I know it can be for others, and so I wanted to make mention of that as well. And so, having said all that, I absolutely love this tent, and can't wait to put a few miles and nights in its history. I've written a novel, which should say a lot in itself, since I don't write reviews very often to begin with. FINAL THOUGHTS: If you're looking for a lightweight tent that will pack down small, and offers great ventilation and surprisingly adequate room inside, I think you'll like this tent! I do recommend it, and will likely be looking to more Sierra Designs products in the future. Great little 1-person tent!
This one-person tent is what I need for tent camping on weekend overnight bike rides. I like its compact size and lightweight. It is easy to pitch the tent with its long main pole and two spine poles. The poles are robust and thicker than those of larger tents I have used. I like that it has mosquito netting on the inner side. I like the design of the window so that it can be kept partially open and not get water inside when it rains. I wanted to test if it kept out the rain without leaks. I usually reinforce my tents with waterproofing spray, but I did not have time with an approaching rainstorm, so I quickly pitched the tent and am happy to report that it remained completely dry on the inside overnight. This is a good one-person tent for quick overnight trips.
This is a great quality, very sturdy shower/potty tent. Much larger than the typical "pop up" kind. I am 5'9" and I don't have to bend down to walk through the door opening (I took a picture of me standing in the doorway, and a side by side of this tent next to a cheaper pop up tent so you can see the height difference). I like the integrated lights that you can power with AA batteries or a rechargeable power bank. My two favorite features are the sturdy metal hook for a shower wand and the covered towel strap. You can have your towel in the shower with you and it stays completely dry. Genius. It also comes with a string with a plastic bar for hanging toilet paper. Comes with a separate fabric piece with pockets so you can have everything you need, shampoo, soap, etc off the floor of the tent and easily accessible. Now for the nitty gritty. This is not a quick set up for one person. Totally doable but will be faster and easier with two people. The poles for the main part of the tent are integrated so it is an "instant up" type tent since you don't have to thread poles through pockets or loops. If you plan to attach the rain fly, I recommend draping it over the top before you extend the legs since the tent is tall once the poles are extended and the middle is pushed up into place. There is small standard type tent pole for the "outback shower" area and it's a bit tough to attach but also not necessary if you don't have that type of shower unit. Since it's got the black out feature, you might need light to attach the floor to the corners of the inside of the tent. It's definitely dark even with the door open and the little windows open. For us, unless we are camping for at least 3 nights, this will be too much work and we'll probably just use the pop up. But for an extended trip this will be worth the little extra work to have all the features you don't get with a cheaper pop-up potty tent. All in all, a great investment for all our future camping endeavors.
I love this beach tent! As a parent of two young kids, I needed something lightweight, easy to carry, and quick to set up—and this tent checks all the boxes. The carrying bag is compact and super lightweight, making it effortless to sling over my shoulder along with all the other beach gear. I can easily manage it while keeping an eye on my little ones. Easy to set up and it stays in place for a long time. There’s plenty of room for the whole family to sit inside comfortably. It provides excellent shade, keeping the little ones cool and protected from the sun. The fabric feels durable. If you're a parent looking for a hassle-free, lightweight shade solution, this is it! Highly recommend!
This my 2nd tarp from Aqua Quest. The first trip that I brought my original Aqua Quest tarp on, we got hit by long, intense thunder storm with high wind (that shifted direction multiple times) driving steep-angle torrents of rain. The poor-quality (but still not inexpensive) tarp from REI that we also had setup literally shredded apart: failing at the grommets but also just splitting a few places in the middle as well. Even though we had the AQ setup in a much less sheltered spot, higher from the ground, and under quite a bit of tension, it came through that storm (and many others) with no sign of wear. Had it not been for the AQ tarp, much of our gear would have been soaked and we would have been confined to our individual tents. Instead we where able to enjoy the storm together dry and warm under the tarp and even had a hot meal. I usually leave mine up in the sun, wind, rain for week-long trips (only taking it down to move sites). My older model from the same company (apparently of the same material) and the one that's seen a few seasons of the use described above and is indistinguishable from the new one in terms of wear. This tarp is not inexpensive, but it's an excellent value. IMO even if this tarp makes the difference between 1 day being miserable or pleasant , it's already more than justified it's cost (how valuable is your limited vacation time to you?).... and it will continue to do so time and time again, year after year. Plus, considering it's size and durability, it's shockingly light and pack-able. I think they only way to beat it in terms of performance-to-weight ratio is with cuben fiber (and you'll pay 5x the price to save those few ounces.) The plethora of tie-out loops not make both getting a good initial setup as well as quick changes (when the weather shifts direction) easy, so you can have good coverage, good internal space, eliminate pooling of water/ direct run-off and have minimal buffeting. The new tarp (the one for which this review is posted) has even more tie-outs the older one. On my last trip this year we had 2 more rainy days in middle of the week (+about 2 hrs of hard storm). But we had both tarps setup: one lower to cover the sitting area and gear and one higher to give standing room for doing work like wood and food prep. We used the tie-outs to attach then to each other at the corners and then to also create a gap in the middle to let the smoke out. Again, these tarps turned days that would have been pretty miserable into ones that where fun and productive. It's like fort-building for big-kids, but the fun factor doesn't make them any less a seriously essential piece of gear.
