I recently bought the Geertop bivvy tent from whatcampingtent.com (although I could have also purchased directly from the Geertop web site) and I am extremely pleased with this item. An estimated delivery time provided by whatcampingtent.com was 24 days but the parcel was delivered in under two weeks. The first thing that stood out for me was the weight and size of the bivvy - despite having read the specs I was completely surprised at how light and compact the actual package was. Of course I immediately erected the bivvy and here again I was impressed at how easy it was to pitch and at the amount of headroom provided inside. Without reading the instruction sheet (attached inside the storage bag) I had the tent erected in double quick time; especially important if pitching in wet weather.

This is a great tent, offers PLENTY of shade, super easy to set up - we love it! The only flaw is it had a bunch of tiny holes near the seams (not on the seam, but in the fabric near the seam - I've included a couple pictures, but unfortunately this is not all the holes). I sent the 1st one back thinking it was a fluke - but the replacement they sent had the same (if not more) tiny holes. Hoping it holds up & the holes don't expand too much due to the tension & stretch to the fabric to get it taught to stay up. Other than that, the tent is great! Would have given 5 stars if not for the holes!

The shade I received had a hole in the top and broken pole within the first use. This shade was such poor quality, despite my having owned 2 of the same brand previously and having no issues until years into use, which is to be expected. The concept of the shade is awesome, which is why I’ve bought so many—one for vacations and one for home. When my vacation one finally died with a broken pole, I purchased this one, which seems to be “updated.” There were a bunch of stray threads in the zipper seams, causing the zipper to jam. The fabric also seemed thinner. This would have been OK, but the damage was just terrible. I had to carry the thing home totally open because the broken pole made it impossible to fold up again. What a waste of time, materials, and money.

Designed in USA Product of South Korea Sewn in Vietnam Four nights in, tent seems okay so far. Does condensate near the head area near freezing point. Haven't had it in the rain yet, but it's holding up staked-out fully. The floor seems thin, though strong, I definitely recommend a supplemental footprint of some form. Fits in my pack horizontally or vertically. Stuff sack has latches on it so it can hang from bike handlebars or frame, that works well in both locations also. Bag is tough, seemingly much tougher than the one of the dragonfly osmo regular. Packs up nice. Decent value, time will tell. Nice to have: Wish I could setup the rain fly without the tent base body. Edit: a few days in, i put my foot sideways into one of the guy lines... the rain-fly tore right down from the guy-loop... I didn't put much downward pressure, but the sideways force pulled the loop right off along with the rain-fly.. looking further at it, i could see the loop was sews with one seam, which wasn't attached to the interior Velcro support loop which latches on the inside of the rain-fly to the frame support-pole... I filed a repair with Nemo, shipped it to NH, and they are working on repair currently. I still love this tent, the form factor, weight, performance, and most all attributes of it... i wish the seams were a bit tougher, either or this defect wasn't present. I will post an update when i get my rainfly back. probably going for a zpacks next go around, made in USA with HDPE fabric type, for less soak.

I use them whenever I'm out overlanding. They work well, the point at the bottom is great in the snow.

I am headed to a festival in the high desert in a couple of weeks. There is a little piece of paradise in this Dessert with a little lake oasis. I basically want to stay on the water all day. Last year I got sun BURNT despite much reapplication of sunscreen. Hence the search for a floatie with shade! Now... pool floaties are shall we say, less than durable so I didn't want to get a shaded float only to wind up with holes I can't find to patch. When I found the raft shade I decided I could probably apply the same idea for a pool float and I think I have found what I need in this canopy! AND I can use it on other water going vessels (of which I have many). It also packs up nice and small and could be used as a beach shelter as well. I'm just loving the versatility of applications. There is some concern about the wind taking it away but I believe the bungee cords will hold it as I attached those directly to the float itself. I am taking it on its maden voyage this weekend so we will see how she fairs! I'll update the review afterwards!

I got this to create a (hopefully) bug-free zone when we head out camping this summer. It was fairly easy to set up, but you need to be able to hang it up high enough and having 4 adjustable poles for the corners is essential in my opinion. My test set up wasn't ideal, but I wanted to see how it worked and give a valid review. The tent comes with 12 stakes and 8 guy lines. The stakes are nice, but could be a bit beefy-er and a few extra would be good too. I found that they tended to slip in soft ground. The guy lines have a retro-reflective coating and that is a nice feature. The sides are easy to roll up, just start at one side of a door and work your way around. There are straps at the bottom of each corner, I think it would have been nice if the connection was a fasttek type buckle, rather than just one that you thread the strap through, but maybe I'm not sure how to use that. There were no instructions included, so I wasn't sure. It is large enough to put over a picnic table and I imagine it will work fine. I'll update my review if anything changes after some real-world use.

What a good deal! Tent, little seat and shower! The Tent is pretty tall! And the base is pretty wide too! So yeah it's roomy! I will be trying it all out completely before we hit the road! Need to know before hand if it's defective! 😉 If there are any issues I will be back to edit this review

  • I love the ease of use, the aesthetics, and the sun shade that this little covering provides. It is made for lower seating, as the “umbrella pole” needs to be sunk into the sand a bit for stability against strong winds. It is not too heavy and is a great value for the money. I am so happy with this purchase.

This tent is perfect for one or two people, or as a tent for the kids to play in. Its February in Minnesota so I can't test it outside right now. Pros - easy set up! I let my kids, 10 and 12, set it up and they did it in less than 10 mins. It comes with a storage bag as well. There are 2 windows and also two doors so you get plenty of air flow and light. Cons - the window flaps are on the outside and only held on by velcro. Not sure how water proof that will be. The doors have a mesh layer and a tarp layer but each have their own zipper so you have to have the other layer rolled up if you don't want to mess with opening two layers each time. Kind of a weird design. Overall, this will make a nice tent for one-two people but we will mainly use it for the kids. Even the dog loved hanging out in it!

Was looking for upgrades from the $20 pop up changing rooms we use for pool friends… you know, because those are awful to fold and put away! Purchased during whatcampingtent.com prime days thinking I was getting a great deal- regular $80?? and on sale for $50. It’s not worth $50. Maybe it was the 4am impulse purchase, but I didn’t realize the floor was completely separate and there would be a gap, still not a huge dealbreaker. One immediately broke while trying to secure to poles and the general quality of stitching is lacking. I know these will fall apart soon so I would rather just return. It gets 2 stars for the vent window in back and the tent pole construction being better than the pop up.

Once assembled, this is a really nice structure. Spacious, easy to get in and out of. Materials are of good quality. However we found putting it up was quite difficult and nearly impossible with any amount of wind. We attempted putting it together with two people on an average sunny day at a beach in Maine, with then normal amount of ocean breeze. We stopped having determined that it was dangerous to those around us as the wind just wanted to make it impossible to safely assemble. If you always have 4 or more people that can hold down all 4 corners of the unit while you try to thread the poles into the channels, then you'd probably be ok.

We used this for a long cross country road trip in all sorts of weather and it did its job well. It was a bit difficult to get the cot in, it had to be assembled inside but it did work. On colder nights there was some condensation inside from breathing but it never let rain water in at all. This packs very small, it would also be great for backpacking because of the low weight. Overall we were very happy with it, it proved to be sturdy and kept the weather out.
