I am in love! This is not a joke, I spend ALOT of time in the mountains, up until now it has been a "embrace the suck" experience. This tent is a luxury!! Its HUGE! It's warm, I swear they thought of everything! The tent is top notch, the customer service is impeccable!!! Thank you, thank you Russian Bear! I highly recommend!!
Excellent tent. Able to relax in a dry, bug-free area while sleeping on an air mattress in the bed of a truck. A lot of people ask "will it fit my vehicle" questions (examples of vehicles are on the Napier site). We used this with a 4WD Ford F250 that has a cab-height canopy. The bonnet wraps nicely around the canopy, but it was approaching the limit for size. With the bonnet on, we were able to open the rear canopy window. The longest straps did not reach the front of the truck, so we hooked them to the lower lip of the truck bed just behind the cab. The side straps fit fine at the wheel wells. The bonnet opening is just large enough for a full-width tailgate to fit through. Tent is very well constructed. The floor is made of a tarp-like material, and wraps up the side about 6 inches to help keep water out. Doors on driver side and at the rear. Window-only on passenger side. Bonnet door at tailgate. All doors and windows have zippered privacy flaps (including bonnet side). Top has 3 vented panels that do not have covers. There is a separate rain fly that covers top panels and 3 sides to the ground, with zippered sides that can be opened. The rain fly does not cover the bonnet area. The rain fly adds privacy and helps keep the test warmer on a cool day. Setup can be done with a single person, but easier with two, and takes just a few minutes. 4 Solid fiberglass poles provide the structure for the roof, and 4 metal poles provide the vertical support on the corners. Heavily constructed plastic pieces connect the 4 fiberglass poles in the center, and the fiberglass to metal poles in the corners. Tent does not need to be staked since it is attached to vehicle, but should probably be staked if there is nothing inside weighting it down. Tent is definitely heavy, so it's not practical for packing very far, though it can be used stand-alone (without vehicle). Comes with a properly sized zippered duffle bag with carrying handles, and stores neatly.
We booked our campsite a month ahead and was so excited to use this tent for the very first time. Disappointedly, our first night we woke up to a deflated tent. We tried to patch up the air leak with the provided kit but it continue to slowly leak. Our trip that we were so excited for was ruined by the tent we were so excited to use. This is our very first inflatable tent and with this experience I don't think we'll ever go back to any inflatable tent anymore unless there's promising ones. Over an hour drive to the campground, weather was perfect, car packed up with camping stuff, a long walk up and down the pathway, setting up our campsite... just to end up with a deflated tent in the middle of the first night?!! Terrible.
I like this tent, this is actually the second I've purchased. I got the first from a returns warehouse sale for $7 right after signing my kids up for cub scouts. Scouting is not cheap so this was like a sign from the heavens that I was doing the right thing. Thankfully, it had all the pieces and no damage. My two kids and I have used it for probably 5 camping trips over the last 2 years. It's easy enough for me to put up alone, though definitely helps to have a second person. Packs back up into its bag pretty easily and has stayed dry inside in swampy, coastal humidity and a thunderstorm. My son is crossing over to Boy Scouts and will be camping without me so he took our lime green tent and I bought myself a new dark green one. It's just as great!
I took this tent on it's first camping trip a little over a week ago. The setup was not right for me to attach it to my SUV but worked great as a stand alone tent. The "umbilical" is the loose fabric showing to the right of the tent. I am a 61 year old woman and was able to pitch the tent solo with only a few small challenges. I did not use the rainfly this trip as there was no chance of rain.
I've used it twice now and no complaints!! It is a great $ value compared to others like it! Once it's rolled out and ready to be inflated, it takes about 1-2min to fully inflate using the pump provided. I've tried using a battery-powered inflator and it didn't seem to be working, or not fast enough for my liking. I'm a female and can do this by myself. The hardest part is rolling up and securing the curtains by myself. Ok so... WHAT THE DESCRIPTION DOESN'T TELL YOU: * This tent is about 12ft x 9ft x 6ft. I'm 5'2" and the only place I even come close to hitting my head on the ceiling is in the corners. Love the height! * I bought this tent specifically for the skylights bc I want to see the night sky. I compared it to other tents and this was the best price for the features I was wanting. * One side, I used as the front, has a door and 2 windows. All 3 also have mesh vents so you can completely close them or use the mesh screens for good air flow. The window mesh vents don't have zippers. * Right above the door is a vent that you prop open. (I'll come back to that). * One side, I used as the back, is one big door. Great selling feature! It has a zipper that divides the "wall" that you unzip and it be completely open. (Think of a 3-sided room). It also has a mesh screen so you can use that side for good airflow. You can kinda see it in my last picture, on the left side. * The back side also has a very small cover/porch with a guyline. * Both sides have windows that are exactly the same. You can completely close them down so no one can see in, open then up to mesh, or only use the PVC windows. This was also a HUGE selling point for me! Very versatile!! WHAT I DON'T LIKE: *All the windows and doors have to be rolled up from the outside!! So if you have the mesh open or the PVC windows, and it starts raining or you want privacy, you have to go outside to unhook the doors and secure it. I looked at other tents and it looks like most tents are made this way. I'm not sure why. If you know, please tell me! * It doesn't come with a rainfly or a footprint/floor tarp for protection. I know most tents don't come with a footprint but most do come with a rainfly. * My tent's ceiling windows had a film on them which made it hard to see clearly. If anyone knows how to remove the film, please let me know! * On the inside, the airtubes have a covering that sewn in to the tent, but has an accessible zipper. I'm not sure what it's for. If you know, please tell me. * The description says "all season" and water proof but in another place it says 3 season and not used for heavy rain - use a rainfly. This is confusing, Yoleny! I used it and it was raining just s little and did just fine - no leaks. * It didn't come with a hammer. ADDTL SELLING POINTS: * It comes with its own carrying bag, stakes, extra guylines, patch kit, and manual air pump that shows you if you've put the right amount/too much air. It also comes with curtains for the skylight if you want privacy or to block the sun. * It deflates in seconds! * It has a heavy duty built-in floor. You can see it's grey in my pictures. * It has 2 air valve ports on the right side corners, right of the door. One is on the front corner and one on the back corner. You access them from the outside through velcro ports. * To the left side, it has ports for a portable AC unit so you can use this tent in the summer! * In the roof, it has a place where you can cut to put in a stove so you can buy a camping stove and use the tent in the winter! You can see the port, the grey square, in my last picture. * This tent is 6ft high, it's not low to the ground. (In come back to that). * It has 2 pockets on one wall so you can store things like your cell phone or flashlights. Just don't roll up your tent and forget they're there!! FYI/SIDE NOTES: Back to the air vent: I went camping over Thanksgiving 2024. One night was really cold and I used a portable butane stove to cook inside and use a stove "radiator" to knock the chill out of the air. I soon noticed condensation building up in the tent. I immediately stopped using the stove but it was too cold to open any more vents. The next morning, the condensation had frozen and there was a thin film of ice on the walls and ceiling. I wiped it off using a towel so it didn't get my bedding and stuff wet. So the vent didn't vent as much as I'd thought it would. The next evening, this time I left the vent and door open and didn't have any issues. The outside temp was much warmer though. (Don't knock me for inexperience). Back to the height of the tent: The site was pretty bare of trees and shrubbery (the very first picture). I staked down all the places and used all the guylines. That night, the winds were about 17mph (very last video). I had to move stuff away from the walls bc it was knocking stuff over. (I had previously watched a YT video with a couple that has an inflatable tent and when the winds got so bad they couldn't stand outside, they packed up. Before they could finish, the wind was completely pushing the tent over). I stepped outside and some gusts pushed me off my footing. It was a little scary. I checked the weather and the wind was going to get up to 25mph, so I decided it was best to pack up. The video doesn't do it justice. The video starts out pitch black but you can hear the tent in the wind. Then my outside motion sensor light triggers and you can kinda see how much the tent was moving. So be mindful if it's going to be windy and there's no cover where you're camping. ALL IN ALL - A definite buy, most bang for the buck!! I'll update my review the more things come up. Definitely recommending!
This tent is very easy to set up. There are included directions, but they are hardly needed if you've ever set up a tent before. I had it up in less than 10 minutes and that includes taking pictures. I could probably put it up in less than five minutes if I was hurrying, not counting staking. The poles are aluminum which are stronger and lighter than fiberglass with no chance of splinters. All of the pole connection points on the tent felt reasonably sturdy. The tent material seems of sufficient thickness except for the tent floor which is the same thickness as the rest of the tent and so thinner than I'd like. There is also a seam right at ground level on the floor. I would never put this directly on the ground, so a ground sheet is absolutely required. The tent stakes are the aluminum Y style which work very well. There is a single self-adhesive repair patch as well as four pieces of material that presumably could be used with glue for repairs, though no glue is included. There is also a short piece of tubing that can be used to fix a pole if it gets bent. The tent is fairly roomy for sleeping, the footprint fits two air mattresses side by side. There isn't any room for anything else though, so gear is going outside which isn't unusual for a backpacking tent. There is some protection for gear under the rain fly, but none from ground water though. There are pockets along both short sides and some of the long sides, so that's really nice. There is a hook at the top for a light or fan. There are two vents in the top of the rain fly that can provide some ventilation. Overall, I'd say this was a very nice lightweight two-person tent for backpacking. It's not the most rugged of tents but that's the tradeoff for reducing weight. Like they say, "light, strong or inexpensive, pick any two". With some care though, it should last for several seasons.
I loved how fast and easy it was to put this on my tent. I cut the hole with an exact knife, melted the screw holes with a hot wire, and bolted it into place. I love that it came with a cover-plate to keep the weather out when using the tent without a stove. This is the only one I've seen with that feature. Very thoughtful.
UPDATE: Purchased and returned the 3rd unit because it had the same quality problems as the 2 units purchased previously. After earlier review, Mfgr claims they will improve the design and mfg process. They need to purge the defective parts from inventory or you may receive them as of early March 2025 If you are willing to fix this product after purchase, just add adhesive to grommets to retain velcro and grommets into the sheet . Otherwise, if you don't reinforce this area, it will fall apart and you will be disappointed you can't return it after 30 days. Returned my first one purchased and inspected the second one I bought that had the same problem with cloth tearing out of the eyelet, except it was only one of the four locations with a defect. The following describes my experience with the first one I returned. Without having used it yet, this product failed in two locations. In one instance the velcro pulled out of the metal grommet attachment point to the curtain because the hole in Velcro was not centered on the grommet. A second location had the entire metal grommet pull out of the cloth. Both of these failures are manufacturing assembly defects and were discovered while trying to install the curtain for hanging it. Also, the zipper appears very light duty. I am returning this and will buy another one to see if it has the same problems or not.
Works as advertised. Haven’t noticed any issue with the polls locking too tightly. They’re very easy to use straightforward design. As others mentioned in the reviews, the silicone chest pond caps do come slightly deformed. But, only around the skirt on mine. They were already attached to the steel pin on each pole. Rubber caps are straight upright other than the base area of each cap. If that bothers anyone, I’m sure you could heat up some water on the stove top and just place the base of the cap inside of it, and then mold it back to the correct shape. Someone else mentioned their order didn’t come with the stakes and guy lines. Mine did. Was happy about that. Had already resigned myself to the fact they might only be included when you buy the larger set of four poles. Happy with condition of what was received. Well packaged double boxed. Everything wrapped up well in plastic bags. It’s exactly what I was hoping for. If I was backpacking, I might take a single pole. Use it somewhat like a walking stick. Then use it for setting up poncho shelter, or similar. Mainly would recommend set for car camping. Or in the winter time if you have sled to pull your gear or ATV. These aren’t overly heavy or extremely long, but when you start adding all the gear together, it gets a bit heavy. Also the carry bag is a decent quality. Has a nice barrel lock for cinching the bag shut can hold all the contents including the cordage and stakes. Has two rope cords that come off of the carry bag. So, if you were so inclined could wear it like a backpack. The steel tent stakes are different than any. I have presently with my tents. Look like they should be great for tough clay soil and maybe even in the winter for icy ground.
Easy to use easy to put together versatile and works well in the wind . Break down was just as easy . I’d buy it again and probably will because it’s a little thin and I’d like it to be a little stronger but it works great !
It’s perfect, BUT it’s see through in the sunlight :( I don’t know how see through it is indoors. Pretty easy to set up. I improvised and used it as my checkout area to give me shade! I will need to line it with another curtain layer or something.
This product has the potential to become a great solution for single campers with a couple simple add-ons. First, the window in the back panel needs a screen to keep the bugs out when the front panels are closed.. Second the opening on the front needs a split screen drape with magnetic tape that allows quick entry and exit, allows fresh air in and keeps the bugs out. The screen can be installed using Velcro along the top of the screen and tent. I have modified my tent as described and can close one or both front panels as my choice.
The rebar stakes I received are exactly as advertised - 16" long (to the tip) and right about 0.4" diameter (to the outside of the raised portions). The coating was evenly applied and looks like it should adequately help prevent rust. The tips were not all evenly pointed, and some were a little bent but it's still better than trying to pound in a blunt piece of rebar. For anchoring any timbers larger than 5" to the ground, it would be nice to have longer options (up to 20").
it's a great tent, lovw the color, pretty stable.
