I bought these to make a sunshade for my fish pond. I needed a structure that would hold up a piece of sun shade fabric, be temporary (only need it for about 3 months of the summer) and stand up to wind and rainstorms. They worked perfectly, they flex in the wind, but don't fall over, and fold up and store when I don't need them. They have survived 2 summers so far, and still seem in great shape.
This tent was easy to assemble and disassemble. It does help to have two people at opposite sides. It came in a nice carrying case too. The material was sturdy and the zipper glided smoothly. We set 4 different tents up for our event and this was the nicest one.
I received my tent and few days ago. It was exactly the look and color I wanted. The size was actually a little bigger than it's advertised. Blowing it up was fairly easy once I realized that there was another inflate/deflate portal on TWO of the corner poles. I was wondering why it was inflate lol, but once I located the other vavle and closed it blew up fast. My only issue is that I found 2 small holes on each side of one of the small windows. They were easily spotted because light shined through the holes pretty bright. Other than that the tent is definitely nice! Can't decide if I want to send back for a exchange or path the holes and keep it 🤔
I like that it is light weight and relatively easy to install. I liked the internal gear loops and attachment points for the boot bags and yak hooks. It is compact. I was at 1st reluctant to purchase because the material was not coordinated with the HD skyrise tent but after thinking about it I am glad they did not change it for the HD version of this tent since it needs to be removed and stored and its small size makes it more efficient for camping and over landing when you are needing the room to store all of your stuff. The lighter fabric is easier to handle. Improvements could be made to the stake loops at the bottom by replacing the plastic rings and going with a more robust strap or loop system with reflective rope.
I was the chief quality specialist at an electronics corporation. One of my responsibilities, was to write and illustrate complex, electronic customer manuals. The manual that came with this tent, well I guess you could use it to start your campfire with. Putting up the tent itself was a snap. I had mine up in less than five minutes. However, the orientation of the rain fly was nonexistent. In the illustrated instructions, along with any detailed written instructions on how to put the rain fly on. However, When I put my tent up, the weather forecast was just for rain. It turned out to be two days of extreme weather. Including: thunder, lightning, heavy, wind, and drenching rain. So when I woke up this morning to check on the tent, I actually thought it would have blown away. however it was still there, not only that, but it was totally dry on the inside. I was thoroughly impressed! I’m 6’4” and I still had plenty of room. I would, however, put down a ground sheet just to possibly help keep out some of the moisture. but other than that, I would highly recommend this tent for the money you can’t beat it!!
our trampoline has been held down for a while by straps and anchors but the sun has broken them down over the past 6-8 months so we needed something new and these were perfect they hammered in fairly easy and are very strong making the trampoline extremely secure in the ground and with no straps they wont break down in the sunlight and will last for years to come
***BUYER BEWARE**** We bought one of these tents last summer and only used it 2 TIMES!!! We had a small dog easily rip 2 holes in it. The material seemed strong but for some reason a small dog was able to tear through it too easily. We took it to get repaired and the guy literally pulled the canvas apart with ease and told us the tent was no good! We could tell it was molded as well. We have had a nylon tent for well over a decade that is in much better shape then this tent. I believe it has something to do with the tent's waterproofing. Even if the tent had a slight dampness to it from morning dew, it should not have molded and become easily tearible by hand. They say it has a lifetime warranty covering the waterproofing, but the company refuses to honor their warranty. Our canvas tent cost a tenth of this one and has lasted 10 times longer. ****BUYER BEWARE****
The tent was super easy to set up for my husband and I. It was a little tricky at first figuring out what poles were which but once you get that it’s a breeze. It fit nicely around our Subaru forester and made it super comfortable to sleep in the car while keeping all of our supplies and day use stuff in the tent. So far we have only used it once but we are looking forward to using it again. It seems to be built very well.
I own and used both the 4P and 6P versions of this tent and absolutely love them! Two features in particular sold me, the spacious front vestibule and interior. When the weather isn't so great, rain, snow etc there's nothing worse than standing there getting poured-on in a less than adequate vestibule but not with the Bunk House, you're totally sheltered on entry. Also in inclemate weather you can fit 2-3 camp chairs under the vestibule, closed up or open, and enjoy reading outside while the rain comes down...awesome. The interior space is great to, while the peak in both the 4P and 6P exceed my 5'8" height, the 6P has clearance almost end to end. Also the sidewalls have enough vertical to add to the spaciousness. And the 6P will have about 1.5ft more space beyond the length of your sleeping system which is nice for entry/exit room. The 4P and 6P are so similar in size, I'd just go 6P if it were me. The quality is great of the material, zippers, poles were all great and has lasted through multi-day rain and through some mild wind. My very mild complaints are: the rainfly zipper occasionally gets caught when trying to open in the morning, so in a couple cases I had to zip down all the way from the top, force my head and hand out to unstick the bottom zipper before pulling all the way up to fully open. I wish the interior doors were one zip all the way around rather than a double zip you that you have to do with each entry/exit...I was able to get away with a one vertical zip entry/exit but you have to be thin and nimble to pull that off. Also I wish it had roof top rainfly vents and a bathtub floor but in all honesty I didn't run into problems related to ventilation nor water/splash intrusion.
Easy 1 person set up less than 2 minutes, while holding a dog in a leash! Lightweight but can hold up against on shore winds. Actually fits easily back in bag when done, and just as quick to put away. Have used every weekend since it has arrived, a must have now!
I purchased this for a camping trip in Big Sur which is usually a colder area that can have rain in early spring. Setting it up for the first time was very straightforward and felt very spacious as the tent size is 7x7. I had no issues with its durability as it withstood some light to moderate rain. Some issues I have with it is the gap between the rainfly and the wall. I found that much of the wind blowing was coming up from under the rainfly and made the tent significantly colder. This is good for summer camping bit in colder conditions it can be quite uncomfortable. A good tip is to lean something against the wall to close that gap or to face the door against the wind. Doing this made the tent significantly warmer and will consider adding some Velcro to close that gap. Doing this however creates a LOT of condensation that leaves water on the inside walls. Another issue is with the zipper, it has a lip on the inside that transitions to another lip on the outside, this transitions makes the tent difficult to open and close which can be a bit annoying. A really cool feature related to the door is a mesh screen that takes up a third of the top of the door that can be opened so you can peek out without having to fully open the tent. A cool plus was with the pockets on the inside and the net in the ceiling that has 2 kinds of hooks to hang anything from lanterns, keys, etc. The material is not thin nor thick and is pretty much the same as any tent whether that’d be a 25 dollar tent or a 500 dollar tent. The water resistant coating does help in some rain but I’d doubt it’d hold up in strong winds or sideways rain. Overall a great tent for the price.
I'm not sure if this was destroyed during shipping or if they just sent us a defective one. But I am returning immediately. The main pole is cinched/bent, and the umbrella cannot be raised up. My husband and I are super disappointed, as we are doing a beach trip for Valentine's weekend. If this was without damage I'd probably have given it 5 stars, depending on how well it holds up at the beach. Guess we'll never know
I've been using a much larger 10'x10' pop up canopy for years for my RC helicopter hobby needs. I now prefer this much smaller and an compact sun shelter for several reasons. 1. This smaller and more compact sun shelter is much lighter weight and takes up less room in my small Honda CRV than the heavier and bulkier 10'x10' pop up canopy. 2. This sun shelter works better for me protecting me and my equipment from the sun. Since this sun shelter has side walls, it protects me and my equipment from the sun regardless of how the sun shifts position in the sky throughout the day. With the 10'x10' pop up canopy, I have to shift my seat and the tables looking for new shaded areas, as the sun shifts throughout the day.
This tent comes in a simple bag that has enough handle to toss on your shoulder for easy transport. It comes with all the necessities to pitch it at the beach. Speaking of the beach, this tent is only for the beach, because it relies on the lateral sandbags for strength. The color I got looks great. It’s super bright and cheerful. Set up is straight forward and the included poles come with a detent to use the included bungee cords. The fabric is slightly stretchy, but seems thick enough to provide adequate sun protection. In addition to the canopy, there is an extra piece to provide extra shade. That’s a huge bonus and it being adjustable is the cherry on top.
Bought this tarp for backpacking in the Olympic National Forest here in Washington state. It’s a 10x10 and is very sturdy, light weight, and made very well. After 20 plus uses in this wet climate, I can tell you it lives up to its reputation of being the best waterproof tarp in the industry. I will continue to use this tarp for many years to come and will post more photos and videos soon. George A
