I’m an athletic trainer so I am always outside facing the weather. I was hoping this pod would keep me warm and dry through soccer season. The first day I took it to the field to use the bag ripped open and the straps fell off. Obviously cheap sewing. It also leaks. A lot of my medical equipment got wet unfortunately. I think it’s good for light mist. For heavy rain I would suggest something a bit more heavy duty. Not awful, but does not fulfill my needs. Easy to set up and tear down. Don’t see this working long term as the material is too thin and there are holes along the lining
This URCUZER All weather sport tent is made of a thick plastic and folds up and fits nicely in a carrying bag. It comes with a top for shade, a tarp bottom, 12 ground stakes, 8 rope ties and 4 bags that say "Sand bag" on them for sand or stones to help in windy situations. It has two side windows with both a screen and a window. It is tight and you need to make sure your chair will fit. With a chair I have very little leg room, I just fit in the pod and I am average height/weight and female. A larger person or taller person may have trouble fitting comfortably in this pod. With just the two windows it does get warm. There is no screen on the front so you only have the two windows for ventilation and when it rains it will get stuffy, fast. Even not raining, with it warm outside you get stuffy (if you are using this for shade and bug control). When it rains, it leaks from the ties that hold the front open, and the heavier it rains the more it leaks. The water comes right through where ties are sewn in. During the downpour I tried it in my legs got very wet and there was no way for me to get away from it because there is no space. You also have to close the windows all the way it it gets a bit warm with the plastic. It was hard to open and close the windows and the front because it is sewn very tightly (there is no give). One of my window zippers starting coming apart and it took quite some effort to go beyond the areas so I could zip it again. It is a pod but not one I would buy again unless there were some design changes. ⭐️ 1 star - I don't recommend it at all, poor quality, or it does not reflect the advertising. ⭐️⭐️ 2 stars - I don't recommend it, it has multiple faults, or is not priced where it should be for the product. ⭐️⭐️⭐️ 3 stars - It's passable. It has some faults, but the quality is adequate for what it is. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 4 stars - Product quite acceptable; it does what it promises. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5 stars - Product that I totally recommend.
First off this tent is really easy to set up so that’s a plus, but it is not made to fit 3-4 people in it at one time. It fits two comfortably especially kids. My 11 and 7 year old fit in it perfectly, but with me in it with them was not as roomy (I’m medium size). So if your looking for something that fits 3-4 adults this won’t work out well. Other than the space part the material is good and the easy pop up and take down was super easy.
This review is for the avalon bell tent, 16.5' I really like this tent. I have taken it out on two trips for a total of ten days. Fire restrictions were in place on the first trip so I didn't use my stove. The second trip there were no fire restrictions and with the stove going it was toasty inside, the over night temperatures were 18° F. The wind was blowing 30 mph and with the door closed there was no draft. The tent stood for 5 days in severe wind. The wind was blowing so hard that it unsettled my stove on the first night. The following morning I put guy lines on the chimney pipe and didn't have any more issue with it. I slept 4 men and their gear in this tent. There was room enough for more if we wanted to get cozy. The stove pretty much takes up two sleeping spots. This is a very heavy tent, packing it very far is not an option. This is a very nice tent, it is spacious and roomy, the set up is quick. I can set it up alone in about 15 minutes. Take down is easy, but pay attention to how it gets folded back up or you will have difficulty fitting it in the storage bag.
I've been camping since I was a kid, as a boy scout and also independently, with friends, and at festivals. This summer I decided to upgrade my setup and bought this tent to use at The Gorge Amphitheater here in WA. I didn't test the tent before going, just put faith in it. It took maybe 30 seconds to setup and then a few minutes to hammer stakes. It had everything I needed (except the hammer) all included in the bag, easily organized, and I barely needed the instructions. It was perfectly cool during 80+ degrees at daylight and perfectly warm during 50 degrees at night. All the pockets are in the right place. It's so easy and intuitive, and everything feels amazing, exudes quality. When I took the tent down and was folding it back up, I naturally ended up in a position hugging the whole tent. I seriously love this thing and can't wait to use it again.
Very easy to set up and my 7 month old loves it. Will be nice for when we are outside to keep shaded.
Such a fun thing in my back yard! I’m a photographer and am using it for photo shoots too! It took 2 of us a few hours to build, but as long as you follow the instructions, it’s very simple assembly. Such fun cozy backyard charm!
Really great tent, especially compared to snugpak. Super easy to set up and take down. Waterproof and long enough for me (5.11) to be comfortable. Only complaint I have is that the green version does not look as advertised. Instead of the OD green from the advertised pics, it's a bright, almost lime green color. If they provided a less bright and more natural color, this tent would be perfect for me
I needed a tent for a two-day camping trip. I watched a number of videos and read plenty of reviews. Unfortunately by the time I got around to purchasing one, the newer model did not come with a rain-flyer, or a little tarp outside to put your shoes on. I also found that the bottom of the tent did not seem as durable as the video review of the prior Coleman 4-person tent review. Setting up the tent is quite easily done. We had very good weather and it did not rain at all. Due to the thickness of the bottom of the tent not being as constructed as heavily we ended up purchasing a tarp to put underneath it. I also purchased a rain-flyer for $40 since it didn't come with one. So far we are up to over $200 for this setup. After returning up a few weeks later I set it up in the backyard to test out an inflatable air mattress. The air mattress I found was not comfortable at all, and since it was getting late I figured I would pack up the tent the next day. The next day I went to pack up the tent and full water puddles in the tent. At first I thought maybe the wind blew the rain-flyer off and the rain came in through the space between the (2) zippers on each of the side windows. However I then noticed that spot was covered. So I cleaned up the mess and put the tent through a lite shower setting on my hose with the water coming straight down. The fabric seemed to be very resilient to water, and it look as though the water was bouncing right off (kind of like a car with rain-x on it)...this made me feel pretty good. However, once I stopped the lite shower and looked inside, I found water seeping in on the seams on the bottom. I was very disappointed. I suspect I shouldn't have purchased a Coleman product. Some of the reviews indicated the same thing, but others indicated they had no issues. I thought the Coleman products were put through a quality test prior to being sold / shipped out. I am guessing not. So I started a warranty claim considering it was only a month and a day since the purchase of the tent. What I have read so far indicates the purchaser has to pay for shipping. I suspect by the end of this I would have invested more than $250 for a tent and separate rain-flyer. I opened the claim on the weekend (9/18/21) and have not heard anything from the manufacturer yet. Summary: Ease of setup -> Thumbs Up Water Resiliency -> Thumbs Up Water-Proof / Poor Craftsmanship -> Thumbs Down. I would not suggest this tent to anyone, unless they have a way of testing it prior to purchasing it. Update: I contacted Coleman as it was past the 30-day purchase time frame. Kimberly from customer support reached out to me via phone, and followed up with an email. They had offered to replace the 4-person pop-up tent with (2) other versions, however they were not pop up tents, wouldn't work with the $40 Coleman rain-flyer that was purchased and were less expensive models, in addition to not being as tall. I suggested an alternative 4-person pop-up tent, however it was out of stock with no known arrival date. Kimberly was going to offer the 6-person pop-up tent as an alternative, however it was out of stock as well. Kimberly then offered up the 8-person pop-up tent as a replacement. My initial thought was no as it was twice as heavy, twice as big, and some reviews indicated it leaked and required preferably two-people to setup. However, after speaking with a couple of friends and family we decided to accept the 8-person tent as a replacement. Once it arrived, my daughter and I set it up. It was certainly helpful to have the both of us doing it. It is quite large, and is over 6' at the center. It also has two-rooms. I tested the tent with the hose simulating a shower for a good five minutes, and not water came through the seams. The only time water came in was when I open the door and windows (naturally). My daughter loves it and is looking forward to using it next year with friends. I contacted Kimberly from Coleman to ask what to do with the 4-person pop-up tent. She indicated to either donate to charity or do whatever I want with it. Summary: Though the initial experience of realizing the 4-person pop-up tent was leaking, Coleman stood behind their product and provided great customer service. Thank you Kimberly for all your help. I moved this from a 1-star to a 4-star review thanks to Kimberly and Coleman standing behind their product.
The CAMEL CROWN 4/6 Person Tent has truly become our family's adventure companion. Whether it's a spontaneous weekend camping trip or a planned hiking excursion, this tent is always ready to go. It's lightweight and portable, making it easy for us to carry along on our backpacking journeys. Setting it up is a breeze, even when we're racing against a setting sun. Once inside, the space comfortably fits our family of four, with room to spare for our gear. The waterproof feature has been a lifesaver during unexpected downpours, keeping us dry and cozy. Every time we use this tent, it feels like we're creating a new chapter in our outdoor adventure story. It's more than just a tent; it's where we make memories under the stars.
I bought this tent to replace a rather old and battered one-man tent I'd had for years. A friend and I were planning a serious Alaskan backcountry trip, and I wanted a trusty tent that wouldn't weigh too much. In most respects I'm pleased with the Snugpak Ionosphere. But I have two minor criticisms. What's good? Overall the tent is well constructed with solid poles, good seams, sealed floor seams, and sturdy materials. The tent is spacious for its weight. I'm 5'9" and I could fit myself and my pack in the tent comfortably. The tent is low profile and withstood the windy nights rather well. The included stuff sack easily fit the tent, fly, poles, and my sleeping pad. When properly pitched and guyed, it seems to resist collecting vapor on the inside, even on chilly nights. What should you be aware of? You can't sit up inside this tent. No vestibule. It's not a free-stander. You will have to stake it out. What could be improved? The zippers could be better. They're not very heavy duty, and they jam easily on nearby materials. When you set up the fly, you have to align it JUST RIGHT, or this tent will slap itself in the breeze all night and keep you awake. (But if you properly align the fly, the noise goes away. It's just that a one-inch shift toward the foot of the tent will make for a noisy night.)
I ordered this tent last month for a camp meeting event and we love it. Good for 3 person and the Xtra awning is a must.
This product clearly shows a floor and even has a picture saying "REMOVABLE FLOOR for extra protection and comfort". This is NOT the case! there is no floor which is exactly what I was looking for. I had picked up a different one last year without a floor and wanted something which actually keeps bugs out. Very disappointed. However, that said, it's a quality product and has flaps which reach the ground. So, you can make it bug proof which is better than I can say about my earlier purchase. Still, not happy about the missing floor feature.
If you're just going to use it as a sun shade it works great but it definitely leaks. The black and white strip at the tips is a separate piece sown on and water seeps through the seams making the bottoms wet on the inside when in the rain
This tent has exceeded my expectations. I purchased 2 of these for a short vacation to the beach. I knew it was going to be hot so I wanted to provide some shade. 2 people and 2 chairs can easily fit in one of these tents. If you take out the chairs then you could probably fit another person or a couple more kids in the tent. But we had 2 adults and 2 chairs in each tent. The kids were able to come in as well and sit on the flap when they wanted out of the sand. Or the dogs were able to lounge there as well. Everyone was comfortable and loved it. And the pockets were great! More storage space then needed and the flaps on the windows are awesome. I can see and talk to the people in the next tent and always keep an eye on the kids and dogs while lounging the shade. An unexpected storm blew in on the beach and we were protected from the wind and the rain so much better than if we just had an umbrella or canopy. My one and only tiny complaint is that it is really hard to get these back in the bag for storage. But I think I'm just going to buy a bigger storage bag. All in all these were invaluable on our trip and I couldnt have asked for better!
