Although I was very skeptical, this tent is awesome! My daughter set it up in about 3 minutes with no directions. The fly took about one minute with the three of us. We came in late right before dark one can’t meet the super camper telling us that’s not a real tent but when we set it up quickly, he slept in it as well. It’s only comment was. I’ve never slept in a condo before lol. This tent can sleep four people very comfortably with single air mattresses. It rained the second night the fly work beautifully. The tent was completely dry. The zippers all work welll Inside pockets are great. It made our whole camping experience, much more enjoyable. This is the first positive review that I have listed on whatcampingtent.com over the thousand plus items I have ordered.
I prefer to camp in more remote, primitive areas. When camping with friends or at campgrounds where the campsites are visible from rivers or hiking trails, I wanted an option for a more private outdoor restroom. This kit includes the privacy tent, a portable toilet and compostable waste bags. The tent has a carrying bag, metal stakes to secure the tent, and bag straps to carry the kit on your back for hike in camping spots. I also used the tent to shower and change clothes. It has a line to hang clothes inside the tent and a pouch for holding valuables while showering. The plastic toilet pops up to a reasonable height for an adult to use. The toilet height takes the strain off my knees, as it's difficult for me to squat really low. The waste bags can be removed and buried to compost. The tent door has toggle loops to secure it to stay open. The entire kit can be folded down into a flat circle and stored in the carrying bag.
Over all this tent was amazing 🤩 from set up to take down no instructions were needed. Super simple! I only gave 4 ⭐ because the description states I was getting pink and the image looks hot pink. It's actually a wine or plum color. It's disaybecause all my camping gear is some shade of pink and the color through off my set up 😆 other wise great tent will definitely recommend to every especially for the price $$ -easy set/take down -compact when closed -extremely spacious inside -2 doors -4 windows, plenty of breeze -keeps out cold when all windows are closed
After 4 days a tent pole broke with little to no wind.
Cute tent with some big design flaws. It goes up and comes down QUICK with one person set up. ***BUT*** ***PAY *CLOSE* ATTENTION*** to how it's folded as you un pack it. It is confusing to fold with the integrated polls. I ordered the 4 person version of this tent. Per the size and straightened walls, I had hoped to use the tent for two people with folded air chairs. The math seemed to work but in reality the air chars were just too big. Mine arrived without damage or production flaws. HOWEVER it failed a rain test. Water misted in through the roof almost imediately. You would need another layer of plastic over the tent to stay dry in light rain. The design of the tent gives almost zero ventilation if the rain fly is on. There are six stake down loops on the tent. (See hand drawn image.) The existing loops are represented in blue and red. The tent really should have four more loops. (Where I have indicated in green.) The red loop mark indicates a red loop on the tent itself. This was useful for showing where to align the rain fly. I am debating returning the tent for a few reasons. 1, the size. Its a bit too snug. 2, the ventilation. Its a hot box. 3 the quality doesn't match the price point. Lastly, Due to some shenanigans with delivery code mishigas, and outsourced staff not being abke to give accurate information, I wound up buying something else somewhere else because I thought this one might not actually show up.
This is so much better than having to lug a giant beach umbrella to the beach. It’s strong, durable, and fits right in my beach chair backpack. Game changer!
This is a very nice tent that is of no name brand I have ever heard of. I have owned everything from Northface® to MSR® and this Lavitis is a quality tent. Lets start with all the GOOD: Fully seam sealed, quality ripstop fabric with PU coating, Free standing Aluminum frame, sub 5 lb package, FULL coverage rainfly, red color coded pole tips to tent tabs for easy setup. Now the BAD: Sized more like a 1.5 person, slightly heavy for a 1.5 person backpacking tent, weak tent pegs (almost all tents have terrible pegs) I was very surprised at the quality of this tent when I received it. I have NO affiliation with the MFG and would definitely recommend this tent for a better budget tent. I did not take it in the rain but did a very basic backyard water test with great results. NO LEAKs. The fabric is very nice, and almost has a Silnylon® feel to it. The bathtub style floor is thicker and has a heavy PU coating for durability and leak resistance. The sewing and seams are very nice and well constructed. The vestibules are the perfect size, able to hold some gear from the elements. The doors are large and on both sides for easier entry/exit. The total package would be an easy weight split between two people for backpacking as long as they like each other. It is almost like a 3.5 season tent with the fabric and amount of mosquito mesh. Some tents are complete mesh internal with a rainfly. This has less mesh and more fabric on the base tent. This tent will be my dedicated canoe trip tent from now on. It will be perfect for river trips where I can take a bit more luxury items. It can be used for backpacking for sure. It is less weight than some of my early high end backpacking tents, but is still heavier then some of todays high tech tents with super light fabric. With that said, this tent is bombproof in comparison to some of the UL tents on the market. At the time of review the tent is $220 with a $25 coupon. This is A LOT of tent for sub $200.
My family and I (a total of four) went camping with this tent, and we had such a great time! The tent is really spacious and the quality is excellent. We enjoyed a wonderful camping weekend thanks to this tent. Thanks to the seller for providing such a great product!
The come ina pair, which is perfect for an emergency bag for 2 people to keep in your car. The bag is metallic in color on the inside and orange on the outside as you can see in my pictures. It is very compact and fits easily in your pocket, but be aware that you probably not be able to pack it up again as compactly as it comes from the factory. I was able to roll it up again with the help of another person, a little bit bigger than the original package (20% or so) but I'm sure it would be harder if you were doing it by yourself.. In addition to its small size, it is extremely light. You can see in one of my pictures it is only 110 grams according to my scale. It is quite warm in mild weather, I would say it is definitely warmer than a normal plastic garbage bag, which is what some of us put in our emergency kits for this purpose. Also, it is quite tall, which is another advantage compared to a garbage bag. Also similar to a normal plastic bag is its "stretchiness". I tends to stretch, rather than tear in the way that normal mylar emergency blankets tend to do. Definitely better. In a survival emergency situation, I would just scoop up a bed of dry leaves or pine boughs under it, to keep you away from the cold ground, and some more above to add insulation, as the bag only prevents radiated heat from getting out, but doesn't do such a great job of keeping conducted heat inside. Finally, I would throw a plastic tarp or garbage bag over it to keep the rain off, and it would help you survive a few hours in cold or even wet weather until rescued, or conditions improve. It all depends on the conditions of course. As for the price, I consider it reasonable for what you get. Well packaged, with some instructions and better all around than either the good old mylar blankets or a garbage bag, which you can still use as a rain tarp hung over it. Fair deal, I would say.
Loved this product! I bought two, one for me and one for my friend so we could take our little ones to the zoo in the summer 90 degree weather! They were PERFECT! Kept us nice and cool. Everyone was stopping us asking where we got them. Only reason I gave a 4 star is cause they are a tad bit flimsy (the metal arm part) but if you really tighten it you will be good to go! The umbrella is huge and covered me and my entire stroller in shade! Great purchase! Also would be great for a beach chair!
Sorry pics are so dark. My backpacking partner had to bail on a long anticipated hike which meant all of a sudden I had to carry an extra 10 lbs of gear (tent & bear barrel) and food. Scratch the 6 lb tent! This was awesome when combined with an Appy Trails TT tarp, total weight was an impressive 3lbs. 0.7oz. It is large enough to accommodate sleeping pad and my backpack, I'm 5'10". Can't sit up in it, but has plenty of headroom. I used a piece of Tyvek for a ground cloth (included in the weight). I highly recommend this bivy if you're needing to reduce weight and nasty weather-rain- isn't in the forecast. Strongly suggest practicing folding it up at home! Took away one star as there is a learning curve folding this bivy
This tent was so easy to setup and take down! We wanted to test it out before we went camping and we had it up and taken back down in less than 20 minutes. One person could easily put this up by themselves. It comes with 3 tent poles, 2 for the actual tent and 1 for the rain topper. The door on the front zips open half way and has a mesh window. There is a window on the back side as well as a small mesh vent on the bottom under the window too. The rain topper has 1 tent pole attach then has a hook to comment it to the rings on the actual tent. There is a small porch flap that folds out. The tent poles have a metal ring that goes inside the poles to anchor them to the corners. It comes with tent poles, tent, rain topper, stakes to secure and a handy carrying bag. The instructions are sewn onto the bag, but we didn't need them. The carrying bag with all the supplies inside weighs approximately 8 to 10 lbs. My husband and I and our 2 Dachshunds all fit comfortably inside.
This is well made & made to use with the other products. Keeps my room neat, organized & the cats love it
My kids mainly want it for inside the house. But I'll have to get a different one for camping. Not sure how sturdy it would be outside. But they are having a blast with it.
Ok so we are not a young as we used to be, and sleeping on the ground just does not work as well as in my 20’s!😅 I also have medical issues with mobility and my back, so camping hasn’t felt possible for several years. But now, we have a trip planned in a month!! I’m thrilled. The tent went up well and pretty intuitively. There’s a bit of a learning curve to get it attached to the vehicle just right, but totally doable. The size is super generous, with a nice high roof on the rear extension. In the photos you can get a sense of the proportions—my husband is 6’3” and standing behind the tent in one of them. We always waterproof and seal the seams of our tent on top of any pre-applied tent seal, so I’d have to say this is decently waterproof but we didn’t test it “as-is” right out of the box. But the seams all look to be nice and tight with great stitching. You could use this by yourself, or with a pal, or even with a couple little ones and/or pets! Great versatility. Easy to break down after use, too! And it all comes in a carrying bag. This SUV tent is AMAZING.
