Unfortunately they are not 1.5mm thick as advertised. Actual measurements of the outer aluminum tube thickness using digital caliper varied from 1.30-1.35mm. The inner joiner tube thickness is only 0.8mm. Also the fit of the inner to outer tubes is quite sloppy (nothing like a “slip fit”) so the pole is really wobbly when put together. I think at this price they could make a much better pole. Fortunately the return process was simple which is why I gave it 2 stars rather than 1.

These poles are completely inadequate
for setting-up a nice tarp cover. Just used mine for the first time this weekend, no structural stability whatsoever, they are the basic equivalent of expensive peices of wood that don’t work very well as a support structure…and this is coming from an engineer with years of structural support design as experience.
