   As I researched tarp and tent poles, I found a lot of bad or less than stellar reviews from quite a few folks stating that many brands weren’t up to the task. While I can’t speak for all brands, I can tell you that the Green Elephant poles perform exactly as they are intended to perform. I design and build my own awnings for overlanding rigs and I‘m quite fussy when it comes to the quality of the items I use to complete my projects. Green Elephant poles will always be one of the manufacturers I use for my projects. I love these poles! I don’t know what some folks expect from their tent and tarps poles but I suspect that some of the negative reviews may be due to misapplication – but who knows. Camp awnings and tarps are NOT meant to withstand hurricane force winds or extremely heavy rains, so I don’t know of any poles that are going to satisfy the camper who expects that. That said… I highly recommend Green Elephant poles and will be ordering more from them in the future. The finish is good. The operation is smooth and the locking mechanism performs with no effort and stays put. The nicest surprise was the three sections that when collapsed, resulted in a nice small package for stowing. The removable rubber tip is also a plus, allowing you to use the poles as a center support without puncturing a hole in your awning or tarp. It also helps lock the pole onto the tarp. Love these poles.

   I have tried 2 others and returned them I tested this out in the driveway so keep in mind I can’t completely tie it down. Windy day 16 mph winds and this thing is awesome. Set upmyself and very fast and simple. Side panel zips on easy. Most impressed with the quality of canopy shade polls, spikes, rope, suction copes and secured extra bracings that add an extra secured strap that easily hook anywhere. Quality A+. I chose not get tent polls, because i wanted green elephant ones for other thungs so sprang for those polls. But seriously, this is the best!!!

    I tried out the Green Elephant Telescoping Tarp Poles (I had purchased four of them) and was very happy with their ease of use and how they enabled me to put up much more tarp than using ropes tied to trees. The next time I put up the tarp, I used it continuously with all four poles for about seven weeks. I did not check any of them during that time; they all stayed up nicely, mostly over six feet extended and one extended fully. My husband and I took the tarp down today. We experienced a problem with locking and unlocking the poles. They seemed to have water in them, and while examining them, the bottom end popped off and water drained out. Without the pressure inside the pole we were able to have success locking and unlocking them. A couple of sections needed some elbow grease (strong twisting from my husband), but they came around and worked properly as well. I wanted to tell you of our experience since I read some reviews on whatcampingtent.com where buyers were upset with the locking issue. I don’t know if they would have had similar results as us, but I plan to put my story on whatcampingtent.com reviews as well. Good product. Happy camper (50+ years of it!). Nancy

    We got these to use with the Eureka NoBugZone CT13 and they did the job, keeping the peak of the screen tent at 7.5 feet and held up well during rain and moderately windy conditions. The segments don’t tighten down as well as I’d like – we did have a little slippage on one pole. You have to really tighten them down very carefully. But they travel well in collapsed form and did the job.
