The rope is slippery nylon. Very pretty color, but slippery nylon. The pull lock is also nylon. There couldn’t be less locking friction between the two if you sprayed them with WD40. I could NOT get these things to lock down. None!
I bought the ratchet type. The ratchet locks the rope down inside the mechanism. I’ve owned Eureka since the 1970s and I’ve never had this problem before. Horrible guy-lines.

It’s a great tent for most outdoors environments . It doesn’t take strong winds.

Love the extra headroom and straight walls and the attached rain flaps are the reason we went with this screen room! We have an original canvas eureka screen house which we needed to replace as it’s age is taking it’s toll on the screening and canvas! Loved it while it lasted 30+ years!!!! Since that screen house is no longer available we are hoping we get the same longevity out of this one

Fairly easy to assemble. Much larger than previously owned ones. Can fit two 9’ Kayaks and picnic table out of the rain. Loved the three zippers for door access to get in and out. Also liked the idea of having the option to only open one flap instead of the full side flap. Rain flaps are a great idea, just wish they had Velcro along other areas too to help keep the flap closed during high wind storms. A bit pricy compared to other brands, but hoping this lasts a long time to get the value

Eureka! Is known for the quality of the product. It did work well in a heavy rain. The size is good to fit very large camping table. Even though it is very, very expensive product we decided to buy it for many years to come. We used it once and one of the elastics broke on us. Very disappointed 🙁 for $800+ it should not have any flaws. I will be returning the product. Second time we bought a year after and it ripped again this time was the stitching. So disappointed. I guess the quality is not there anymore. But the price goes up and up. That is just not right.

Used for the last couple years, phenomenal screen tent. Has survived multiple severe storms, no leaks and have room for everyone

This came in handy on a trip where we ended up staying longer than we thought and offered creature comforts for weary campers at a high altitude experiencing rain and cold. It’s tall enough where the adults aren’t having to stoop and hunch over, and plenty of room inside for stowing gear, dining or other community activities. You can use the sides with the extra poles if you need more shade but then you may get more rain coming in through the screen if weather hits. Easy enough to just zip it all down though to keep everyone and everything inside dry, and the zippers are pretty darn nice too, no snagging and tugging praying it won’t tear. Just ease of use and it was easy to shake out and put away.
It is quite heavy though, over 30 lbs– so keep that in mind.

I have been waiting for a screen house like this. Worth the money.

We had our 1st tent for ten years and it was great! We purchased our new version of the same tent 2 summers ago, yesterday we noticed first the top loop of one corner was ripped away and then as we were taking it down to clean and store a side clip pulled off the tent! What the heck has happened to the quality!
So disappointed.

I know you are looking, trust me this is the one. Forget the others, hands down after much research and comparisons this one is the best. One full camping season in the books, 27 nights lots of weather, rain and wind it’s stood tall, gave dry shelter for kids to play in bad weather. Lifetime Eureka! Warranty to boot!
